City Vet

I have been taking my two kittens to City Vet since I got them near the end of last year. I’m very impressed with the City Vet staff– they are all very kind and definitely show a lot of care and attention for my cats. Both of my cats were neutered by City Vet– other than a small mixup over the quotes for the procedure that was quickly and painlessly resolved, it couldn’t have been an easier experience. My cats have seen both Dr. Kennedy and Dr. Bebawy and both of them have been great. I’m really happy with City Vet and glad my cats seem to like them too!

What a terrific experience I had here at CityVet. I used them for my previous dog and started all over again with my new French Bulldog puppy, Charlie.
The desk staff is friendly and very organized. I received a call the day before to remind me I had an appointment the following day and was informed as to what I needed to bring for my visit.
The veterinarian assistant took his time to great my boy Charlie and immediately made him feel comfortable and at ease. He handled Charlie very carefully and prepared him well before he was to be seen by the doctor. He took the time to explain to me what was going to happen and explained my options related to vaccinations and preventive heath care.
The doctor is simply amazing. She sees dogs all day long every day, yet she spent a good deal of time holding Charlie and gave him tons of love and affection. She handled him very delicately and administered all the vaccinations carefully; so much so, that Charlie didn’t flinch or whimper. I had a ton of questions and she answered them all and didn’t let me go until she was sure I was completely informed and satisfied with her responses.
The manager, Michael, greeted me at the desk upon completion of Charlie’s examination and provided me with some useful iPhone apps and websites. Again he took the time to hold Charlie, pet him, and gave him tons of love and affection.
What a great place!

Nothing but good experiences at City Vet. Dr. Rafla is our puppy Indiana’s vet and he is very attentive, detailed, gentle and funny. Our puppy tends to get nervous and squiggly but the kind staff help make it possible for him to get checked and helped. He recently got neutered 06÷12÷15, and they were all very kind and helpful when I asked questions and had concerns. The waiting area is clean and spacious. The front desk staff is also extraordinary and kind. I have had to call and email several times about getting updated copies of his vaccines for whenever we travel. Never do I get attitude which is cool! I would recommend any pet owner to bring their pet here as they are knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you Citi Vet!

The veterinarian named Wael Bebawy misdiagnosed my 8 month old dog with a UTI and prescribed a strong medication that should not be used for growing animal such as dogs under 12 – 18 months as it causes abnormalities in their development. We learned this only after seeing an amazing doctor at Astoria Vet Group, who actually performed a comprehensive exam, and was shocked by Bebawy’s negligence. Turns out the discharge he’s experiencing is normal and harmless for some young male dogs and will go away without treatment! Bebawy also missed a lesion at the sight, which the Astoria doctor said may have been directly related.
This is our second time witnessing Bebawy’s incompetence. Moreover, he is always dismissive and rude when challenged, when clearly the most important thing when treating animals is the animal’s health, not the «doctor’s» ego or his monetary gain. I hope my dog’s development isn’t affected, but at least we learned not to trust this doctor early on and can help spread the word.

Great office, wonderful staff. I’ve been coming to CityVet since my dog was a puppy and haven’t left. My dog is now 5 and this is where we get annual immunizations and check ups. There is hardly ever a wait and I never had a bad visit. The quality service from the doctors are amazing and they don’t overlook anything. We’ve seen two different doctors and neither of them were condescending, they listen carefully and do a good job with remembering your pet’s medical history. In addition, they are really good with informing you about everything from illnesses to breakdown of service costs (which are reasonable and inexpensive). I never feel as if I am getting cheated, I get the feeling that everyone here cares about your pet and will do their best to keep them healthy and happy.
The assistants are SO nice! My dog gets really nervous when visiting the vet, but they do a great job with calming her down and making her feel comfortable which makes me feel less guilty about dragging her to the doctors.
I live in Brooklyn, LIC is right next door but regardless I still trek all the way here for my dog’s needs. I cannot stress how much I love this place and how happy I am that there is an animal clinic that provides quality service for a decent price. There is also a groomer/​petcare business at the same location which is convenient.

went here this morning to spay my kitten, signed a piece of paper agreeing to the $ 350 spay fee + $ 39 office visit, got a call when I got home saying I needed to sign a paper stating that I was refusing bloodwork for my cat against medical advice, to which I replied that I had not been told anything about said blood work. They said, on the phone, once I was home and away from my cat who they had and were about to put on fluids, that it would be an additional $ 160 for what they deemed to be necessary blood work for any animal to have before going on anesthesia.
I of course wouldn’t want to risk my cat dying on the table because we didn’t check her levels ahead of time, but my issue is that I was told nothing of this neither on the phone when I made the appointment and received the verbal estimate, nor in the office when I paid, nor in the exam room with the doctor.
Also not discussed was the option of inserting a microchip (for an additional $ 75) when in fact that is something they should/​would tell anyone about to put their animal under.
Perhaps they are so used to doing these procedures they forget the importance of going through them and their pricing of different services with the customer, but the General Manager there, Michael really could learn a thing about running a business and informing the customer ahead of time as to the options and hidden fees.
This is the most stressed I’ve been dealing with a vet and was a complete waste of my time, my day and my energy.

Do not go to this vet. Dr. Kennedy was rude and not helpful at all with my dog. She gave him pills that were very expensive and it did not treat my dog. She was afraid to touch him, did not treat him or us the owners with respect. It seemed like she wasn’t interested in curing my dog. We ended up going somewhere else and they found out what was wrong with my dog the second they saw him. Do not go here.

I went to CityVet a little over a month ago because my 17 year old cat, Cleo, suddenly became ill, and my sister recommended to try the place out. The basic examination fee is $ 35 — which is a lot cheaper and closer to home than the ASPCA. The staff was wonderful, and the doctor who examined her was fantastic.
Unfortunately, Cleo had a severe mass in her stomach. She was unable to walk, very lethargic and lost control of her bodily functions. I was asked many specific questions and was told after her examination that it could be either kidney disease (which she had issues with urinary infections in the past), or cancer.
Of course, I freaked out and started crying. They gave me an estimate to run tests, but Cleo was too old and it was too expensive. The doctor was very consoling and understanding. She provided other affordable options, and said she will support whatever decision I make for my very sick cat. I kinda knew in my heart that her time was coming.
I ended up taking Cleo to my sister’s home with some medication to increase her appetite and make her comfortable. I didn’t want her to suffer with poking needles and further stressful examinations. My sister was an RN and was the perfect person to watch over her while I was at work. A few, short days later, my sister called me and said Cleo may not survive the day. I rushed over to be with her as fast as I could, but I was too late.
I miss her dearly, and I think about her every day.
I am giving CityVet five stars because the doctor, the assistant and the staff were so kind and helpful that day. They care for pets as well as the pet owners. When I am ready to adopt another, I will definitely go back to CityVet for routine check ups and I highly recommend this clinic to others.

5 paws!!! My friend recommeded me this place; I wasnt too sure because it was so true to be good. Well boy! I was wrong.
Dr. Kennedy was very delicate and extremely knowledageable with NINA, my lovely feline. She answered all my questions and even gave me the BEST options to my cats diet. The Staff is amazing including the manager that was super attentive and explained to me everything. Prices are very reasonable and the MOST IMPORTANT Thing is their manners and their sweetness towards the animals. Very happy with my visit. Deff coming back soon !! Reccomend this place to all the pet parents !!

My experience with City Vet has been nothing short of superlative. The desk staff is always friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. Waiting time has never been unreasonable, and getting a timely appointment is a snap. The doctors are kind and attentive and do a great job of listening to my concerns about both my cats’ health and my financial concerns. When devising a care plan, there are always options laid out, so I never feel I’m being pressured into something I’m not 100% ok with. Even when it was time for my Tyler’s final visit, I felt he was in the best, most compassionate hands he could have, and I cannot be more grateful for that.
There are other vets more conveniently located to me, but I find City Vet more than worth the trip. I recommend them to all my area pet owner friends.
Four paws way up!

It was my first time at City Vet. I took my brown tabby cat there for a regular check-​up and vaccinations. I also needed advice about traveling with a pet. The team at City Vet was friendly and knowledgeable. I am pleased with the service and the information they gave me. It is absolutely great that you can be in touch with them through email and discuss any questions or concerns you may have, which is in my case is a plus.
I really liked the interaction between the vet, my pet and my son — the vet let my son listen to our cat’s heartbeat, which was cool. :) Other than that everything went smoothly — the shots and dewormer. We will definitely be back for our health certificate before my cat Yoga flies to California with us.

My dog Bosco has been going to city vet since we moved to the neighborhood a few years ago. The team at city vet is very friendly and passionate, they love animals and always take great care of Bosco. All the staff would remember Bosco and greet him with treats every time we go. The doctors are amazing: they are very knowledgable, gentle and always put Bosco’s needs before anything else, they are also not pushy and always give us more affordable options if needed. We now have another dog Sam, and we just took her to City Vet for her first visit and it was another great experience. My dogs truly enjoy coming here with all the attention and treats they get!
Another great plus is there’s a doggy daycare attached to City Vet in the back. One time we boarded Bosco while on vacation, he got bit by another dog during play. Being next to the daycare, City Vet took care of his wound right the way.
Overall we are very happy with City Vet with their impeccable services and reasonable prices! It’s great to know my pups will enjoy the most amazing care when needed.

I’ve been taking my pets here since the practice opened under Dr. Adams. She was great, I never felt that I had or was going to get raked over the coals and she wasn’t an «alarmist» in any sense, so I was worried when I found out she had sold the practice a moved away.
I am happy to report that the new ownership and management is just as good! A genuinely caring and compassionate team of vets and techs and I never get the feeling that anybody on staff is just going through the motions

The gang at City Vet were friendly and easygoing. We got the paperwork for our new kitten Bruce sorted out quickly, and even though they seemed pretty busy I didn’t wait long before being seen.
Once in the room, the check from the vet tech went smoothly, and they listened carefully to my rundown of the situation, showing me and Bruce real personal concern and care. Dr. Bebawy was friendly and straightforward, and also showed great care for our little rescued guy.
We left with our prescriptions and complete instructions. But not until after Bruce got a round of photos with the staff.
Take your pet here for their next checkup. You (and your pet) will be glad you did.

My cat has been coming here for his regular shots and issues with bladder stone. The staff here is always very caring and patient. Milky was in good care when he was here and the Dr was very attentive.
Hope we don’t need to come here very often! I am sure not animals like to go to doctors just like human!

Very bad experience made me doubt whether their objective was to treat sick dogs or make lots of money. Besides their already expensive prices. They wanted me to neuter my little yorkie who is only 4months old when I just came in for a vaccine. Saying that I would put him at ‘risk’ if I didn’t, I have seen 3 other vets and they all recommended me to neuter my dog at least when he was 6 months old. In addition, they said that they suspected an ear infection, and that needed to run additional tests to ‘see’ and pay more.
UPDATE: Thanks for your comment Marina K. it sounds like you don’t even care about your customers experience. Making unnecessary threats, good luck contacting Unilocal to «expose me». You are right you «can» neuter a puppy after two months old however keep in mind that 90% of doctors recommend after six months, clearly your office operates differently than most clinics. Still a horrible experience no matter your threats.

I came to City Vet as a recommendation of neighbors and friends right after I adopted my CKCS mix, and all I have to say are extremely good things about the care my dog receives, and the excellent attention we get from the staff. I reviewed some Unilocal reviews before I visited them for the first time back in February, and seems that back in the day the office was going through some ownership changes and made some customers not too happy. I can honestly say that the attention my dog gets at this place is first class.
My first vet was Dr Londono, and she was extremely a sweetheart. Unfortunately, she relocated to Florida, but even after she left the Doctors we’ve seen are extremely professional, knowledgeable and considerable. Dr. Rafla treated my dog for an eye infection, and nicely waived the examination fee since my dog got a full examination the week before for his shots. Dr. Gabriel treated my dog for a stomach infection, changed his diet, and my dog recovered quicker than expected.
A vet office is not only about Doctors, but also about its staff. City Vet’s staff is first class. Michael, the Gral Manager, is somebody who really cares for every single pet who steps a paw in that office. He’s very caring and explains in detail about the services my dog requires, any flea and tick treatment, and comforts my dog if he gets any needle treatment, etc. Daniella is super sweet as well, my dog loves her. Erin, the receptionist, she’s the best! She quickly finds a way how to book an appointment, and immediately submits all paperwork for my dog’s insurance claim, and she always looks very happy.
The checkup fee is $ 39.00, which id very reasonable. I appreciate they give you an estimate of the recommended services before any action. Medicines can be expensive tho.
As you can see, I’m extremely happy using City Vet for my dog’s veterinary services. I highly recommend them for its staff professionalism, attention, care, and good attitude.

I’ve been a client of City Vet since my pups were 3 months old, and they are now almost a full year. I’ve had all their vaccinations done here, check ups, treated for eye infections, and their neuter/​spay operations.
All and all, I feel comfortable with their service. I’ve seen both doctors, and both doctors were very helpful answering all my questions. I spoil my pups and only want the best for them!!!
I did get my sweeties neutered and spayed here. It was really important for me that my girl puppy didn’t have to stay overnight. I felt she would feel less stressed out recovering with me by her side. Both operations went well and my pups were up and almost back to their playful selves in about 4 – 5 days. I think this is the only vet in the area that doesn’t require the girl (spay operation) to stay overnight. This was huge for me!
Appointments are easy to schedule, and I like that they email reminders of when my pups are due for their next vaccination.
You can feel at ease bringing your pet here for health concerns!

I got my beagle puppy 3 months ago from (the worst pet store ever), sadly she was in a bad health condition.
But luckly DR. Rafla in city vet took extreme care of her and shes getting much better,
Its comforting to have people taking extra care of your pet.

After finding an abandoned pup with a serious paw injury we came to City Vet because we couldn’t get an appointment with our usual vet in Greenpoint due to the last minute and urgent nature. City Vet scheduled us in and greeted us warmly.
They quickly assessed our little dude and his needs and started surgery even after they had already closed for the day. Everyone from the front desk to the techs to the veterinarian herself was 100% awesome. They were so sweet about staying past their posted hours. Kind, knowledgable, compassionate. I couldn’t ask for more. They made a really difficult situation so much less stressful for me, and most importantly the pup.
Bonus, the facility is beautiful, clean and well organized!
