Four Points by Sheraton Long Island City/Queensboro Bridge

My husband and I had our wedding reception here in June 2016. We had our cocktail hour on the Vista Skylounge and the reception in the Penthouse Ballroom. They also comped us a room with a balcony overlooking the Manhattan skyline for the night of the event.
The accommodations across the board were absolutely lovely. Laura, the event coordinator works the job of around three people, but she is on point and always makes you feel yours is the only event she is working on. The atmosphere and the décor could not have been lovelier in all rooms. We got to see the sun setting over the Manhattan skyline, and all the lights of the skyline come on from the window walls of the ballroom throughout the event, and it was something out of a fairy tale.
The maitre’d, coincidentally named MD, and his staff were also absolutely on point. There was a miscommunication between myself, Laura, and MD regarding how long it was going to take to get the entrees served (I wish MD had been able to attend more of the meetings my husband and I had with Laura during the planning phases). We didn’t realize this until the day of the event, but MD really didn’t want me to worry; when the time came, his staff booked it and got the entrees out in record breaking time. All three courses were absolutely delicious; we had multiple friends and family comment on how delicious the food was. The service too was impeccable. My and my husband’s champagne glasses stayed full the entire night, and our guests thoroughly enjoyed not only the dinner service, but the open bar, and dessert and coffee service as well.
Parking was a slight problem, and we decided last minute to add valet parking. It had been communicated to us that parking could be difficult, but not that it was pretty much non-​existent. If you’re having an event here that people are diving to, you’re gonna have to cough up an extra chunk of change for valet parking.
Nonetheless, any complaints we had were mere glitches, solved in moments and ultimately none put a damper on the evening. Laura, MD, his staff, and the hotel itself went out of their way to make sure my husband and I had a magical wedding reception, and indeed we did. I would recommend them and the space to anyone looking to throw a special event.

Very disappointed in this hotel and usually 4 point sheratons are a decent place to stay.
The checkin process was very chaotic. When we arrived in the evening two parties of people ahead of left because they had been waiting for over 20minutes for the front desk staff to return to the front. The person checking us In was not very friendly, was very brusque and unapologetic when unable to accommodate our request for 2 beds. I think his name was Michael. Not the person you would want being the face of your company.
We booked this hotel because the location was convenient for us and we were able to use spg points. We requested two beds in the reservation and when we checked in were told that there were only king beds available. Since we are travelling with our son this was not ideal. We asked for a rollaway bed and they brought us one, but they also charged us $ 20 for this! They didn’t set up the rollaway bed or even bring a blanket. Just a pillow and a flat sheet. The room was so small that it couldn’t even accommodate the twin size rollaway bed even after trying to move the furniture.
After our first night when I spoke to the manager in the morning about this asking him to remove the charge for the rollaway bed since they couldn’t accommodate our room request for two beds he argued with me stating that we booked a king bed. He finally agreed to remove the charge after explaining that we couldn’t even use the rollaway due to the configuration of the room and that proper bedding had not even been provided.
AC unit was not functioning properly it would not cool (got very hot at night) and shower handle was broken would not stop twisting and you could not control water temperature. My husband got a little scalded. When we mentioned these issues to the manager in the morning he did send engineering up to the room shortly after to fix the issues.
The pros– the hotel is new and clean
Cons– small, cramped, Unaccommodating, not family friendly

We chose this hotel based on location and previous experience with four points. There staff at check in was rude, and not the least bit friendly. There were issues with our room, AC didnt work properly and shower handle was broken. They didnt get fixed until the following day.
The conversation with the manager didnt as you would expect with a manager that is concerned with the guest comfort.
I have noticed in this area that several hotels are franchise whose owners are just out to make money and run down the hotels.
I expected a bit more from SPG, for us well stay at a Fairfield by Marriott next time and tell our friends the same. Bottom line, it is cheap but not that cheap. You can find better accomodations and service elsewhere.

This hotel is great! When you arrive at the hotel, ask for Celine at the front desk. She is a miracle worker. I made a mistake when booking my room, and Celine quickly sorted things out and fixed them for me. Her attitude was professional and courteous — she could have told me it was my fault for making the incorrect booking, but she instead helped me. Just great customer service!!!

Great rooftop!!! The food was amazing. Small selection yes, but the quality was great. The staff were very friendly and I had an overall great experience. I appreciated that they separated the smoking section. I would def go again! :)

The only reason I had to stay there is due to my flight home to ORD being cancelled. Had to rebook for the following morning, and having SPG Gold Status, immediately called to get a hotel room nearby dreadful LGA. It is fairly inexpensive, with 15 mins ride to LGA. Basic Four Points. Service is adequate, rooms are older, but clean. All basic, all ok, nothing to write home about. Works for me for 1 night. Cannot wait to leave LGA, this disgraceful place, and go home.

Perhaps the worst hotel I have stayed in the SPG chain. Having stayed for over 200 nights with SPG, this has been easily the most unreasonable, dishonest and rude general manager I have seen. Was charged for a cancelled stay and blamed for that I had «two reservations» when clearly I only had one.
Every front desk manager is helpless and rude when encountering any «refunds.» Even after submitting credit card fraud disputes and BBB ratings, the hotel still fights back.
Will never stay with this location again and recommend anyone in their reasonable mind to avoid this hotel at all costs.

Just called this hotel to request information on parking. I am speaking to Michael on the phone and was told «you have a new York phone number, you should know how parking is in NYC»
Now, how do you know I’m not from staten island? Where there are ample parking spaces available? He was so rude!!! And when I called him out on it, only then does he want to give me information! What rude staff!!! I’m a SPG platinum customer, but am going to stay at Hilton because he was so rude. Bye SPG

Strictly hating because I live across the street and they have no way to control the drunk people.
While I love me some 90s /00’s rap and hip hop I would rather go to Jurassic park than listen to these stumbling drunk idiots on a work night at 11pm. Grow up. Go to your designed douche hang out — studio square

I’m an SPG preferred member and I’m well familiar with Starwood quality but Four Points was a totally disappointing experience. SPG lists this hotel as category 4 (10k points for a free night) and at best this is a CAT 2 property.
The demographic of a 250/​night hotel is astonishing. Slamming doors all night; loud music; sketchy characters roaming the hotel; beginning house keeping runs at 7am? What were the franchise VIPs at Starwood thinking when they added Four Points as a member property?
The hotel is actually not bad; amenities are good and the room and bathroom were clean. View from the room was awesome and the Sky Lounge has amazing views of Manhattan and Queensboro Bridge. The area is industrial; definitely questionable but no police action and nothing visibly crazy about it.
At night walking from 39^th Ave. subway station was very safe because you walk with 30+ guests of the other hotels. There seems to be constant foot traffic between the subway station and the hotels all the time — those are 3 – 4 other newly built hotels on the same street with Four Points so getting to the hotel after midnight (which was my biggest worry) was no problem at all.
However this isn’t a place I will come back to.

If they only had private parking lots! They would’ve been a close 5 star! Don’t let this place fool you. The roof top and the 11^th floor dinning is amazing. Over looking the city from LIC isn’t too shabby. Especially when you have special events going on. The food is good. Nothing too fancy but it still hits the spot. They also have a bar downstairs for drinks. So if your visiting NYC or you want to throw an affordable (small) wedding with good views. This would be a spot!

Not the best hotel I’ve stayed at.
First it was pretty expensive for the location it was in, I could of gotten same room in Times Square cheaper.
I asked for a view of the city sky line and I ended up getting people’s backyards (on the second night one of those people threw a party I could hear all night).
Room was pretty small, I liked the shower and bed but no mini fridge (that I would of used), and didn’t have half the things on the room service menu for breakfast. One thing was room service once ordered was pretty quick.
Probably will not be staying here in at the Long Island city hotel unless I have to, better to just stay in the city.

I am a Platinum SPG member and thus am well acquainted with the Starwood hotel chain. This is without a doubt the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in this chain. It’s almost as if they are trying to pretend to be something they are not: that is a nice hotel. The room fixtures are somewhat adequate but nothing more. In my room the fire alarm was hanging 4 inches from the ceiling by the electrical wires. Additionally, upon entering my room I found the toilet had been used and not flushed from the previous customers. I just though this to be a simple oversight until the second day when the maid did not empty the trash in either of the rooms I had rented.
The «free» continental breakfast was one (1) item from all the items available (the selection alone would barely rival a Super 8 motel). Just to be clear the woman who stood guard over the «buffet» actually left to double check with the front desk to confirm that we were entitled to only one single item from those available.
There is no way I would ever stay here again.

I’m pleased with this hotel for its good value and proximity to a Metro stop. I can be at my company’s main office in Soho within 30 minutes from leaving the hotel. Just four short blocks walk to the 39^th Ave Metro Station and you’re off to Manhattan.
Good view of the city, though I suppose that depends upon which way your room faces. I’ve been pretty lucky with views on my last few stays here.
Rooms here are more spacious than in the Four Points Chelsea and Four Points Soho locations. Nights seem quieter too. I slept pretty well on my most recent stay.
Helpful staff, and attentive. The night staff guy was on the ball when i came down for my 5:00am ride to the airport, and the morning guy the day earlier was very pleasant in answering some questions I had about the area.
Downsides: Once you’re there for the night, you’re there. There’s no where to duck out if you just want a quick coffee or a light snack or anything like that. There’s nothing really of interest within easy walking distance. My one experience with the hotel restaurant was kind of middling, and now I just grab breakfasts in Manhattan.
It’s more fun of course to stay on the Manhattan side, but costs there can get out of hand. This Long Island City location has become my go-​to location for its value. I can get a good room for a much lower price with still convenient access into Manhattan.

We accidentally booked this hotel through
instead of the Four Points in Manhattan, and immediately called to remedy the matter. Four Points Long Island City REFUSED to reimburse us, even though we were going to stay at the Four Points Manhattan, which we did. If Four Points Long Island would have simply cancelled out the reservation, the room would be back in circulation within minutes.
Instead they double charged us.
This was simply unfair, and they certainly have the authority to reimburse– they just refused.

Over several visits, this has become one of my favorite hotels in NYC as long as the rate is good. Easy access to subway to Manhattan, but if you’re not comfortable walking in the non-​touristy spots of NYC, you might not dig the location. Street parking is usually easier in this neighborhood, so that’s a plus when driving in. Bathrooms and rooms in general are very modern, comfortable for an extended stay. View from the roof is cool.
Only possible complaint is that they changed light bulbs between this most recent visit and my last — they’re super bright white LED or Fluorescent bulbs now… Not very warm, made the room almost too sterile! Hah!

Very good hotel with great service, nice café & rooftop bar, and okay rooms.
The first room I checked into had an overwhelming weird scent, like fruit flavored vaping. It was gross, so I requested a new room and I was led by a very nice gracious manager to a much nicer smelling room.
Big comfy bed, cozy clean smelling linens. Nice view, with free wi-​fi, and outlets everywhere for device charging.
Dining here was quite good! I had a glass of cold dry savignon blanc on the roof, and the service was great. I dined in the café for breakfast the next day and had a really tasty quesadilla egg, cheese, peppers, bacon, onion pie. Good coffee, and again, great service!
Good spot all in all, if you get an iffy room, ask for a better one. They’re very accomadating here. The food and lounging here rocks too!

This is my second review on this hotel:
They lose a star this time because the carpeting had a terrible odor and the housekeeping service continuously forgot to leave supplies.
The pros and cons from my first review still apply.

Another great deal from Hotwire, a beautiful new hotel right outside Manhatten for $ 50 a night!
The service is great, location top notch, if in a seedy area, but with a great roodtop balcony, beautiful ballroom and excellent views of the city!
We slept very well, parking is free out front which is also a great find in NYC.
In all I would recommend this to anyone wanting to be close to the city but away from the noise, stress and saving you some money that you will surely need for other things in the city!
