Marshalls

Long line, but they keep it moving. Found a nice tupperware set here that works perfectly for family picnics. One piece of the set was broken when I got home and Marshalls replaced it quickly the next day. Good price.

When I shop at Marshalls upstate, the experience is fabulous. Neat, well stocked stores; reasonable lines; responsive managers. This store? Not so much. Intolerably long lines, disorganized stock, and no point even trying to shop for the waste of time involved in paying for merchandise… even when shopping from the line, as one Unilocaler suggested. Unless you can get there when the store opens at 9 – 9:30 am and shop quickly, you may want to give this location a pass.

I’m usually dragged here by my mom when she visits. Personally, I do not know what she sees in this store.
Maybe it is a bit better for women’s clothing, but what I see I don’t usually like (Granted, I’m not an expert in women’s clothing). The men’s department just looks like an afterthought, with stuff thrown in for guys like me who were dragged in here.
My mom brought me here the last time to look for things for my place. I hate to be Mr. Negative, but nothing there caught my eye, and I kept saying «No» to everything my mom pointed to.
Customer service here is practically nonexistent, and the checkout lines move at a snail’s pace.
I guess if you really, really, really look, you could find a good buy on something. However, there are other places I’d rather shop, including other Marshalls locations.

Come here often with my mom whenever we come here to buy clothes. Last time I went there, I saw one of my high school classmates working there as a part-​time cashier.

I wish I could give them 5 stars but the store is always a mess. I do love the selection they have. Sizes are sometimes hard to find but it is expected at a store like this. Sometimes there are items with a major discount which is a super plus. The employees at this location don’t seem to value their work place or even happy to work there.

Great place for clothes they have great lay away plans that always get you a great deal even if you get paid later in the week. I was helped by a worker named Evelyn who was very helpful and helped me pick all my Christmas presents and made the gifts seem good for a great price. This place is alittle messy but it’s a discount store so where do you see a clothing store being perfect? I would say just for the help I got from Evelyn she gave this place 5 stars in my option still the line should be handled better at check out and the floor should be cleaned up alittle more other than that it has a great staff and friendly service.

If I could give zero starts, I would. I will throw it out there that I understand this is Marshalls. I am not looking for exemplary service and high end products. However Marshalls is a great store where you can find fabulous deals!
Unfortunately this Marshall is not worth the time and effort of searching for deals. Let me just say, I waited in line for over 30 minutes to be checked out. The employees could care less about being efficient in their work to get you in and out of their store. And their manager could care less in offering you an apology for the long wait. There was approximately 15 people in front of me who all had to endure the wait time. And there was never once an apology given from either the employees or the manager (who was at the front «supervising» instead of helping ring out).
Worst experience in quite some time. So needless to say I would not recommend the aggravation. You’ll find better deals, items and customer service in the city right over the Queensboro bridge.

First the inventory of men’s underwear was laughable. They had one opened package in my husband’s size. One. And then wouldn’t discount it even though it was open. Then there were literally 22 people ahead of me in the checkout line and 3, yes 3, cashiers. I asked them to call for more cashier help and they ignored me. Customer service at its finest. Waited in line for 27 minutes to buy opened underwear. Horrendous.

I’ve been standing in line for 20 minutes now and I have moved about 3 feet in a 100 ft line. Lord please give the manager some common sense right now. Their workers shouldn’t be walking around arranging things while there are 50 people on line and only 2 people at the cash registers.

As a frequent Marshall’s/Homegoods/TJ Maxx customer, I was extremely disappointed by this location. Be prepared to wait on line for (no exaggeration) AN HOUR.

Oh man where do I start. I love shopping here but it’s so unorganized, half the clothes are on the ground. Can never find a correct size, can never find a worker and the line is usually so long it’s not worth the 1 item you do decide to want to buy. You can easily spend 2 hours in the store trying to find something & pay.

The baby section is fun to go through but doesn’t really seem like that much of a discount. I think it depends on the item.
The store is pretty organized and neat considering how crowded it is at any given moment.
It’s easy to go overboard and buy things you don’t need because you can find some good deals.

HERE’S MY UPDATE: SUGGESTION… BURN THIS STORE TO THE GROUND PLEASE!
Walked in and walked out last month because the line was wrapped around the store… DISGUSTING. This month I was lucky I found a full matching pair of sneakers… surreal. it felt like I just won the golden ticket to the willy wonka’s chocolate factory. 1 star for that. How about hire some cashiers that don’t look like their processing you for a stay at RIKERS!!! .

I really hate this place, is always so messy and crowded. I can never find anything here since they never had anything good. I been to other Marshalls that at least you can find something. Also the lines to pay here are super long. The only plus is that they have a free parking lot.

I don’t know why people gave it a bad review… It is a very nice organized Marshall’s with variety of choices… This is by far my favorite location. And for those who claim it’s dirty no it’s not! I enjoy going there every time!

Hello my fellow, ever faithful Unilocalers! A quick update: I accidentally stumbled into this horrible place yesterday only to find, [gasp!] the store was… cleaner??? So, I give the current management snaps for dragging out a mop and putting up new signs. I didn’t gag, so that’s why this store gets another star this round.
A word of caution: Another of the Unilocalers who reviewed this store claims that there is a parking lot across the street you can use. While yes, there is a parking lot across the street, NO don’t park there unless you want your car towed! The parking lot is strictly for the businesses in the equally horrible strip mall across the street, and there is someone who strictly monitors who parks there all day. So please just be careful because if you expect you’re going to run in, find what you want, and run out, forget it!
Finally, no matter how much some of the other reviews might want to jab a finger at the staff of this Marshall’s, you really have to cut them some slack. It’s not their fault that the other shoppers were apparently raised in a barn or a shack with no connection to humanity before they grew up, whelped a litter or two, and then dragged the entire family into this store to run amok and rip sh*t off the racks. Let me be clear about this: it’s the OTHER SHOPPERS that make this place horrible, not the staff so much.
All I can say is, DON’T SHOP HERE! Sorry Marshall’s…

I feel so bad for the people that work here. The stampedes of people coming in to shop for a good deal and leaving the store a mess… that must be a headache to clean up after. I’m sorry guys, I’ll do my part & be humane enough to put the shirt back on the right rack if I don’t want it.
If you’re lucky (but really lucky) you’ll come in on a day where there aren’t much shoppers, and when things are fairly organized.
They have a dog/​cat section in the back, where you can find awesome deals on the doggie poop bags. Some people can be trolls and just decide to steal some of the items there. No need to steal, it’s already on a great bargain.
The kitchen stuff is pretty dandy too; compared to Target, Marshall’s has the better deal.
The workout clothes section isn’t that bad either. If you’re lucky, you’ll find $ 10 yoga/​jogging pants. The water bottles to take to the gym are at a great price too. I got a bottle that was $ 20 at Sports Authority, for $ 7.99 here. Awesome.
Coming here for ANY holiday is hectic. But I mean, you will find good deals and cool finds.
It’s a zoo in there, but hey, it saves you money.

So, I read all the horrendous reviews for this location but decided to see for myself.
The store didn’t stand out to me as particularly disorganized, dirty or crowded… because to be honest, I feel like a lot of Marshalls locations get that way on the weekends.
My biggest gripe was… I didn’t find anything I liked! This has almost never happened to me in a Marshall’s before. Not only did I not find what I was looking for, I wasn’t even seduced by anything… it’s unheard of really.
I’d say I’d give this place another shot, but I prefer the Marshall’s location on 6^th Avenue in Manhattan b/​c there’s a TJ Maxx right above it which doubles your chances of finding what you’re looking for!

It’s a bad day for Marshall’s when the deal hunters of the clothing kind will shoot for next door Old Navy (
) or nearby Conway (
) instead of venturing through their aisles of low priced gabs. The reasons are not as far fetched as one would think.
If presentation were a grade, Marshall’s scores pretty close to an F. Many areas of the store (especially during peak hours) are simply unkept and very unappealing to look at. It’s kind of like visiting a restaurant where most of the tables are available, except each of them are littered with dirty dishes /​haven’t been cleaned. No one wants to sift through a pile of clothes, not even the one who is looking to save a few bucks.
The staff could be to blame — what little staff there is. Simply put, there aren’t enough associates around to keep the place from being ripped apart by the non-​stop hordes of low budget shoppers. The employees that are here aren’t in the friendliest of moods half the time because they have so much on their plate. It would be easy to cut em a break out of pity, but no one ever said working at a Marshall’s was glamorous.
Every holiday when there is an ugly sweater party I’m invited to, this Marshall’s usually comes through. Beyond that, I’ve yet to walk out with a quality purchase and for that, I’m less likely to ever step back in here.
