I’m so disappointed with The Garden City Hotel. Let’s start with the horrible gift shop. I thought I would enhance my experience by buying a gift for a love one… I was never told about their«no return policy» until I bought something back because it didn’t fit. The man who has a very heavy East Indian accent acted like he couldn’t understand me… glossed over everything I said… the shirt I bought was mislabeled a large. He said,“We can not offer you anything at this time.” «We have a no return policy even if you have a receipt.» I asked to talk to the hotel manager. They said he wasn’t in and it was business hours at 9 am Monday. This place is a sham. they are hoping you don’t live nearby and don’t return a product that’s inferior. All of their items are over priced and of bad quality. Beware and don’t get caught like me holding the bag. They don’t even provide a shopping bag with the hotel logo on it. instead it’s a black ugly plastic bag they give out at supper markets. Now to warn you of the horrible quality of beds and aging deco at this hotel. We had to leave after one night at this place. The beds were sagging and the sheets were not fresh. Management offer to put a board under the bed. That was not acceptable after paying $ 250.00 a night. There were spider webs and dust everywhere. The rugs were stained and dust balls were in the corner of the room. This was a King size bedroom with a love seat that was sagging too. Don’t waste your time here. Stay at the Marriott in Uniondale. it’s a better deal and more updated and cleaner too. The Marriott has a gift shop that makes The Garden City gift shop look like a front for a booking joint. Don’t buy anything from Garden City gift shop. you will loose your money and you’ll be left holding a black garbage bag like me!
