Quality Inn & Suites

Didn’t live up to my expectations. First of all, it is an older building. They have window air conditioners. Also, there was a spider when we just came into the room. The bathroom was rather small.
The breakfast was mediocre. They had muffins, waffles, etc. Your typical hotel breakfast.

We stayed here without reservations or advance planning. We came in after a long day’s drive looking for a good room and directions to a good meal. Great value. Clean. Super friendly helpful front desk lady. They are great at taking care of vacationing families.

Quality Inn & Suites is a decent chain that I’ve had a modicum of success with. Like Best Western their locations seem to vary greatly in quality. The difference is Best Western always seem to come in above the bar. Quality Inn generally does not so I was not necessarily looking forward to this nights stay.
When we arrived at the hotel we noticed that the location was not in the nicest area of Longview. Then I noticed they were the Gold Award Winners. This is encouraging even though I have no idea what that award is or what weight it carries. For all I know some guy who works there was like «Hey, lets just say we won the Gold Award!» While I was waiting to check in the lady at the front desk answered the phone saying «Thank you for calling Quality Inn & Suites Longview the Gold Award Winner, how may I help you?» Wow, they are really pushing this Gold Award. I was starting to become impressed. (I looked it up later and like hundreds of hotels have won this award)
After checking in we headed to the room. My wife noted that the room didn’t smell right. I didn’t notice but then again I have allergies and can’t smell anything. The room was ok but it was certainly the least comfortable I felt in any hotel so far on my trip. The room was a little dated and it was in need of some updates. Also, 5 minutes after getting into the room the door opens and one of the cleaning service people walk in. She said this room was on her list to clean but it was done and we were already in there. It was just a strange and awkward moment.
The next morning I headed down to breakfast and it was uninspiring at best. The eggs didn’t look very good and the sausage was not good. They did have a waffle maker so you could have waffles or cereal so all was not lost. All said and done I was happy when I was checking out because I knew my experience was over. I’m not sure who they paid to win the Gold Award but I’m not sure it’s fully deserved. I give the Quality Inn & Suites Longview 2 Doubledays.

Decent place with typical free breakfast. The room above me was noisy all night stomping around. Sounded like they had cement blocks for shoes.

Clean, nice, cheap hotel. Staff is nice and the breakfast was awesome for such a low cost hotel.

My daughter recently took a job in Longview and we’ve been here several times (interview process, renting an apt, moving)… And each time the hotel has been GREAT! It’s super clean and the staff is very nice and accommodating.
Although there aren’t restaurants and things within walking distance, Longview is a small town and plenty of places close by. Quiet area and the hotel feels very safe– there’s always someone at the front desk and other from that you need your room key to get it other doors.

Summary: Clean, inexpensive, but dated
Good points:
— Relatively inexpensive: $ 89.95/room with king bed
— Clean
— Close to freeway, other shopping amenities, such as restaurants and grocery stores
— Friendly staff
— Breakfast included in price: waffles, mini doughnuts, cakes, sausages, potatoes, gravy, boiled eggs, cereal, yoghurt and more
— Room was clean and extremely large, included a microwave, fridge, flat screen TV, free wifi, ironing board and iron, hairdryer and desk (NOTE: drinks and refreshments available from vending machines)
— Very little noise traveling from room to room
— Accepts pets, but at a fee of $ 15/​night
Bad points:
— Although the room appeared clean, there was a heavy stench of bleach emanating from the bathroom. At least I know the germs are dead.
— The building is somewhat dated. The walls, fixtures etc could have been in better shape, but I understand this is not a luxury hotel.
— Relatively small dining area, so you could be having breakfast standing up.
— The bed was soft and springy, and bad for my back. It made me groan every time I turned over; I missed my tempurpedic
— They have this pathetically small pool and Jacuzzi
I would likely stay here again if I was in the neighborhood. I should really give the place four stars, but I had to remove one due to the bed and my back problems. I understand that a lot of people would find this bed really comfortable.

Definitely not worth the $ 100+ per night.
The hotel staff were completely disorganized from the beginning and there was no management on sight. We checked in after 3pm (the check in time) and walked into our room to find it completely undone, ie. bed without sheets, bedding on the floor, cleaning supplies in the middle of the room. The housekeeper who was cleaning the next room apologized and said that she still needed to clean the bathroom in tha room. No big deal. We went back downstairs and requested a new room as we were in a hurry to be checked in and leave.
We were assigned a SECOND room and boom! The door was open and the room completely undone (without a housekeeper in sight). We went back downstairs, at this point ready to get back in the car and look for a new hotel to stay. Instead, we were assigned a THIRD room, and surprise, surprise! Room not fully cleaned yet. Rags in the floor and one bed without blanket.
We went back downstairs to cancel our stay and get a refund. The receptionist said she needed the managers’ approval for «canceling our reservation», since was over the 24 hour grace period (huh? since there wasn’t a room for us, that we paid for, we wanted a refund. After waiting for a while, the manager wasn’t reachable by phone we were promised we will get a call back about getting a refund.
In the interim I talked to
, whom indicated that they couldn’t guarantee a refund without the manager’s approval.

We kept the reservation and went about our business since we had somewhere to be (we didn’t put our bags in the room in case the refund was approved). The receptionist said she’ll call us when she got a hold of the manager. We never got a call. We returned at night. The stay was uneventful. The carpet was dirty and the room looked ran down overall. We checked out and there was no acknowledgement of the check in fiasco. No discount offered, despite that we didn’t use the room (because it wasn’t one ready) until we returned in the evening.
This hotel is not worth the $ 100+ a night. Go somewhere else.

Average hotel. It was hard to find though. Eventually found the place.

Room very small for a «suite». At check-​in I got to hear about how one employee’s recent bankrupcy was impacting their business because a debt collector refused to accept the judgement so during check in the collector called no less than 50 times. The dryer plug in had something on it that looked very gross, had to leave a note on 3^rd day since it still hadn’t been cleaned. I asked 3 times about the sofa, the left side you sink into the hideabed and practically sit on the floor. They told it was «normal» and nothing wrong with it. housekeeping came by, promptly took care of grossness on the dryer then asked me if there were other issues, I mentioned the sofa. As soon as I sat down to show her, her first response was «that isn’t right». we tried a few things, no luck. She said she would turn it in but still nothing changed. So for the week have to be at the hotel we are stuck on sitting on the bed for comfort. I do not want to change rooms — too much stuff to move & we have dogs with us that are just settling down with this room. ALso, great room location when you have pets that have to go outside. Really, how hard is it to change out the sofa to one that is reasonable or fix this one? Instead, customers are dismissed. They allow pets but no place to potty them but an overgrown field. Staff overall are nice & polite. Breakfast is the SAME thing every morning. Juice, waffles, fruit, cereal, Hostess mini muffins, sausage, dry potatoes & biscuits/​gravy. Free wifi but its VERY VERY slow. Overall Not bad, not great.

Drove by based on Unilocal reviews, left. Bad area, not well lit. Next to an oil refinery. On the drive over I had to shut off the car circulation system because I started getting irritated from the fumes. Petrol is great for cars, not so much for humans…
Maybe best not to sleep in oil refinery waste fumes if you have a choice.

Incredible room, flat screen tv, comfortable beds, microwave, and free continental breakfast at reasonable prices. Friendly staff too. I’ll be staying here whenever I’m back in the area

Really pleased with this establishment. It’s extremely clean, both and in and outside the inn. I was actually pretty surprised, as often inns in small towns seem to take a step down in terms of cleanliness and quality.
Free wifi, continental breakfast, and flatscreen TVs. Mini fridge, clean coffee maker, and even a microwave. A great location for a family planning on visiting Mount St. Helens, Astoria, Canon Beach. Golfers: if you’re planning on spending a day or two hitting the Southern Washington courses, I’d recommend this inn as a great, clean and comfortable place to spend the night, fill up on a hot breakfast, and then spend all day on the links.

An OK bet as far as price, cleanliness and helpful staff (considering the city it is in), but don’t have too many expectations beyond this.
I decided to stay in the Longview, WA Quality Inn Suites to earn some points toward my Choice Privileges Rewards Program membership (free to join). After passing by a few other hotels, this looked halfway decent from the outside so I went in and checked their prices. For a double queen bed room for one night, it was about $ 70. The lady at the desk was very helpful and courteous.
One thing that struck me about the hotel is all the video cameras they have all over inside and outside the hotel. Longview doesn’t seem like the safest place as far as crime goes, but I would rather stay somewhere with some semblance of security– this was a plus.
The rooms were fairly clean overall, with all the usual stuff: flat screen TV, heat/​air conditioning, small refrigerator (which you have to plug back in to use– they unplug it when the room is not in use to save energy), free wireless internet (however slow). Even with all the lights on, the room was pretty bleak, and you might as well keep the curtains closed because there isn’t much to see outside. The beds are comfortable.
The fact that they have a Continental Breakfast is a plus, but it is nothing special (Cereal, Juice, Yogurt, Waffle maker, Fruit, Muffins, Coffee etc.) They have some tables, TV and newspapers on hand in the morning.
If you just want someplace clean, safe to stay, that allows you to get a good nights rest– this is your place. If you are looking for more, keep looking. This place is bleak inside and out.
