My wedding was on 5÷5÷12. I found this DJ at a wedding fair in Citrus Heights. I was originally very excited because he had offered me such a great deal $ 550 from his usual $ 1200. However, as we approached my wedding date my excitement quickly changed to frustration. He became VERY difficult to get ahold. I emailed him 4 times and tried calling with no return call about 6 times during the a 2 month time period. When I signed my contract, I specifically asked if he had insurance as my venue had a very strict policy. When asked for his documents, he was unresponsive both to myself and my venue for weeks. When he finally responded, he told me that he is one of the busiest DJ in Sacramento and that his assistant was suicidal.(???) Less than a month before my wedding he did set up a time to meet. At this meeting, he tried to sell me some powdered power drinks and ruined a surprise that I had for the ceremony! As we approached our date, he still did not give my venue the necessary insurance documents and tried to raise my rate. He claimed that my venue was asking for something out of the ordinary so I needed to cover the cost. When my husband called him 5 days before the wedding, he still had not turned in the documents and became very rude on the phone. He replied, «do you want me as your DJ or not?» We had to get a new DJ, which had no trouble with the insurance documents, 5 days before the wedding and he kept our deposit.
