Outage due to the company error, we spent the night without power, it’s almost 24 hours and no one has shown up to fix it, call ten times so far, the worst services ever

Dominion Power in Northern VA has the worst customer service! I’m a brand new customer so I get punished with a $ 136 deposit plus an additional $ 15 random start up fee. «They don’t check credit anymore» so everyone has to pay a deposit. Ok, fine, but how about actually mentioning that to me when I’m signing up for service? I loved sitting on the phone the last 35 minutes during my busy work day for zero help from the «supervisors». Wow…

After setting up a transfer to a new address with correct dates online, Dominion changed the shutoff date to occur immediately and sent a tech out. The tech was horrible, and I had to argue with him that there was a mistake; he was going to shut off our power and heat in 15 degree weather even though I was there telling him not to. He finally agreed to come back in half an hour, and I had to make a 20 minute call in the middle of the workday to get dominion to fix their mistake. Still waiting to see if the tech comes back. If I hadn’t been outside my house at the exact moment he showed up I would be freezing right now. Completely irresponsible, and the only good thing about the whole experience was the helpful person on the phone.

I Have been a customer of Dominion since 2008. I live in Boston and choose Dominion as my supplier. In Feb of 2012 I checked my bill and found that Dominion was 26% higher than my local utility. When I called Dominion, they told me they were sending me a notice every year with the new rate, HOWEVER if i wanted a lower rate I needed to call them. I asked how would I know to do that??? Dominion sucks and is a sleezey co. Do not do business w/them…they will screw you!!!
