If there were 0 stars I’d log that in.
Took 2+ weeks to get an appointment, despite my saying I was in considerable pain.
Took almost 3 hours to do X-​rays and a teeth cleaning, this should have taken 1 hour, tops.
Said I needed 4 root canals and 1 tooth extraction, costing (after Insurance) upwards of $ 10,000. In addition they advocated that I NEEDED a deep clean and a bunch of other nonsense costing another few hundred dollars.
I went to a second dentist, Fox Family Dentistry in Springfield, VA. They got me in within 48 hours. Turns out I needed only one root canal and had a couple of MINOR cavities. After insurance this cost about one tenth of what Reflection wanted to charge me.
This establishment is out to make money, not help patients. I get the feeling they blatantly lied to me in order to make money. I would never return or recommend anyone go there.

The other reviewers are correct. This office «finds» gum disease, and other expensive issues that really aren’t issues. As if this isn’t bad enough, he then sends in his scantily clad office staff to talk you into payment options. It’s a joke! I went to my old dentist in Reston, who is rated in the top 10 dentists in VA, and has been in practice over 25 years, and he found ZERO gum disease, and basically, I got a cleaning, a clean bill of oral health, and walked out with my wallet intact! CHOOSE ANOTHER DENTAL PRACTICE!

I am also very surprised at the negative reviews, I think Dr. Abdeen and his crew do a great job and I’m glad my husband & I chose him as our dentist. He is very thorough, he and his staff are very nice, and the office is very modern and clean. He showed us everything on an x-​ray and discussed the pros/​cons of going ahead or not, it was completely up to us to make our decision. I would highly recommend this office.

I REGRET EVER STEPPING FOOT IN DR. ABDEEN’S OFFICE! First and foremost, Dr. Abdeen is a thief. He thumps up oral conditions to rob you of money. He claimed that my mother had gum disease so she paid over $ 400 (for one side of her mouth) to take care of it while her previous dentist never mentioned gum disease nor did my mother ever feel she had any symptoms of it. He told her to come back to treat the other side of her mouth for another $ 400 – she refused.
As for my story – I visited Dr. Abdeen’s office in June 2014 for a cleaning and routine checkup. I would have gone to my regular dentist but I was going to age out of my mother’s insurance, my previous dental insurance had expired, and he was an in network dentist. When I went for this routine checkup, Dr. Abdeen told me I had 4 cavities. My regular dentist, who is amazing, had never mentioned these cavities on my bi-​yearly visits. So I have a strong feeling some of those «cavities» were not the type to drill out. Dr. Adbeen seems to do whatever he can to take as much money as he can from you in one visit.
Dr. Abdeen also told me he wanted to extract my wisdom teeth. He was going to do all these procedures on the SAME DAY! I refused this. From there, I was suspicious of him and questioned his competency. I should have gone with my gut feeling. I was concerned about those «cavities» he mentioned so I agreed for have him fill them. During the filling he had to numb me OVER 4 TIMES! He just couldn’t get it right. Mind you, I have had a number of fillings done by my regular dentist and numbing me has never been an issue.
Dr. Abdeen was able to fix 2 teeth on the top row without any issues then he began doing the bottom 2. I started feeling PAIN and told him I was not numb enough so he numbed me again. Still, the pain was pronounced. Can you believe this man told me to allow him to finish the drilling if I could «stand the pain?» I allowed him to finish to much of my dismay. He began on the last tooth, but the pain was too intense so I flinched. At this point, he began getting annoyed with me. The nerve of this incompetent man! He gave me two options: (1) to allow him to continue and bear the pain, or (2) have him numb me again. He advised me that he was almost finished and it would be best for have him drill the cavity out as soon as possible. At the same time, he told me that too much anesthesia may cause my heart to react in an adverse way. I told him to proceed without the anesthesia as I was trying to be cooperative/​listen to the advice of a doctor. About 2 seconds into the drilling I pulled back and told him to stop immediately. I could not handle the pain. He seemed annoyed. And I was enraged that he would be annoyed at my feeling pain! Not to mention his assistant was splashing water all over my face, did not seem to have a good handle on how to control my tongue or hand over the devices– just lacked overall confidence in what she was doing.
About 3 months later (September 2014), I got my original dental insurance figured out, so I went to my regular dentist to take care of that last cavity (which was the only cavity I believe was an actual cavity). My regular dentist was able to me numb very easily on the FIRST TRY and I felt no pain! That is why I am writing this review. Dr. Adbeen is an incompetent, arrogant, unethical thief who cares nothing about his patients. He’s also very disrespectful! And in my opinion, his prices are exorbitant as a way to steal money from uninformed patients. You’ve been warned.

My girl friend went in for the first time, she was interested in getting Invisalign. They said, it’s required to pre check for any issues before getting Invisalign. After snapping some x-​rays and noting she had 4 cavities which needed to be fixed immediately prior to Invisalign. She made the appointment and went in, once they began removing her cavities, they apparently noted «7 additional» cavities which also needed to be removed. Not to mention, they injured her gums in the process. It took a total of 3 visits to remove all 11 cavities and on each visit she was over charged an extra $ 261!!! We’ve emailed them explaining these over charges and pending a refund. AVOID them at all cost, they’re out to UPSELL. Staff is not professional and competent. The wait time is ridiculous. Wish I had come across these reviews before, wouldn’t be surprised if they run out of all clientele soon.

I’m surprised at such negative reviews! I got a groupon and came here for a cleaning package. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth was amazing. I forgot her name but I told her she should have gotten her dds. The dentist is just ok, he did tell me I had 5 small surface cavities that I should take care of (that I declined). They also did encourage me to get invisalign but I had asked abt it, it wasn’t «pitched». I went back 6 months later for another cleaning, this time they only found 2 «small surface cavities». Since I don’t have dental ins I’m not about to spend money on something that I don’t absolutely need, so I again refused. If I needed major work tho, I’d go somewhere else based on some of these reviews and the fact that I went from 5 cavities to 2 within 6 months. That’s shady.

Dentist here seems either highly incompetent or highly unethical. My wife was told that she had 7 cavities and they all needed treatment right away. We were surprised because she never had much problems with th previous dentist. So she refused to get them treated and she eventually went to another dentist who told her that her teeth are in great shape and no cavities! Unbelievable!

I have been an extremely happy customer since moved to the Lorton area in 2006 and was first referred to Reflection Dental of Lorton. My sister referred me and I decided to try. It has been a great experience ever since.
Dr. Abdeen and his staff are fantastic. They always go out of their way to make me and my family feel comfortable. His staff is very friendly, honest & professional. I have had several things done, from cleaning to invisalign to removal of wisdom teeth and have been happy with all of the outcomes. The office is also very flexible with payment options if needed.
My entire family goes here and I would recommend it to anyone. TWO THUMBS UP !!!

DO NOT WALK! RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! This is not a dental clinic, it is a sales pitch. I responded to a coupon for $ 59 cleaning and did not receive it, not even a floss! The hygenist spent three minutes in my mouth. Anyone that knows what even a basic cleaning is knows that it takes at least 30 to 45 minutes. No polishing of the lower teeth, nothing. Once more, when I told them I wasn;t happy they tried to write me off. I called their Corporate office, Heartland, and had my $ 59 refunded! It took quite a fight to get it refunded. Also reported them to the BBB in Lorton, the Va Licensure Board (dentists and hygenists) and the Chamber of Commerce. I told the receptionist she should be ashamed to work for a place like this that tried to take advantage of people that already don’t have a lot of money for necessary dental care. Truly pathetic lack of professionalism on their part and the dentist, ABDEEN, should be ashamed for allowing his name to be connected to this «sales pitch» office.

This place is terrible! First of all, they made me wait past my scheduled appointment time. But most importantly, I went in there because i received a flyer saying they had a xray, cleaning and checkup package for less than $ 100. They x-​rayed my teeth, which was the most uncomfortable x-​rays i’ve ever gotten done at any dentist. Then they came back and told me I had gingivitis and would be needing deep cleaning and that I would have to be be charged $ 5,000, but with their special plan I would only have to pay $ 1,000, like they were doing me a favor or something. First of all, I knew I didn’t have gingivitis, so I flat out told them.
I asked the person who took my x-​rays if I didn’t want anything done right now would I have to pay. She said no, you don’t have to pay anything if you leave now. Yet when i tried to leave, they said I had to pay $ 20 for my x-​rays. I said I would pay for them but that I want a copy of them. The lady at the front desk tried to refuse me my x-​rays and was incredibly rude and upset that I decided not to get any service, but I told her if I was paying for them that I want a copy. I went to two different dentists after this (one was an orthodontist) and asked them if I had gingivitis. They both said no. I asked if I should get deep cleaning and they both said I shouldn’t. I ended up getting the cleaning and check up done at Fairfax for $ 70! I didn’t have any cavities and my teeth were fine.
Reflection Dental is a bunch of con artists.

I would never go back here. I made an appointment for an initial visit and when I showed up 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment, they informed me that they had canceled my appointment because I did not return their phone call to me the day before to confirm the appointment. I explained that I hadn’t received the message (found out later that my husband inadvertently forgot to tell me about it). I had taken time off work to get there, the waiting area was empty, and still they refused to see me. I was FURIOUS. They were not accommodating at all. I will NEVER go back there. Terrible customer service!!!

Went in for a Root Canal, and two cavities and left painless and happy :)
Dr. Abdeen is such a nice man and his staff is very helpful. Everything went right, place was colorful and bright, Dr. Abdeen’s technique even made it so I didn’t feel the needle’s initial poke when applying the Novocain. Was my first time as he is new in town but I have never had a resident Dentist I always hopped around for location convenience to work but I will now go out of my way if I have to as this is now the home to my teeth.
Oh, and I even played basketball with the boys 2 hours after :)
I plan to do my invisiline soon as he has the best deal I have found so far…
