ABC Bartending Schools

Loved the class, had a lot of fun and learned a lot! It has an actual bar and you really feel like you’re getting real life experience with the speed drills that the instructors assign you. The instructors know an insane amount of things about alcohol and the history behind the different types of liquors, from cordials to beer! They even give a lecture on resume building. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone who is serious about becoming a bartender in the field! :)

ABC made learning how to become a bartender fun. Great instructors, very educational and great experience. I recommend this school to anyone who wants to become a bartender or learn how to craft drinks like a bartender.

I had the best experience with this school and the instructor Rayven. Her teaching methods were extremely precise and hands on. Rayven has a great personality and extremely helpful in every aspect. The class was educational and fun at the same time. Rayven plays music and dims the lights and creates a bar environment while you’re learning and it really strengthens your skills and gets you ready for the real thing. She says she’s from Germany but has a very LA attitude, and i say that in the most positive way. Definitely glad I experienced this class with her and all my classmates. I suggest this school and most especially this instructor to anyone that wants to sling drinks. A must take course!!! Whole class passed within the high 90’s! Also, the school provides job placement service for all students. Worth every penny!

Miss Raven is the best instructor ever! Smartest and most dedicated instructor you’ll ever have! She’s only there during the weekend courses, but has her own location. Ask fo0r her if you want some serious one on one training. She will also share her own successful recipes.

Great class! Came out feeling confident. Kim and Ryan were both great instructors and i was able to keep the pace with enough time to study and practice each day. I’d highly recommend this class to anyone!

Best experience I’ve ever had, like a big family extremely hands on. Kim and the staff here extremely knowledgeable patient and intelligent instructors. I finished the course in two weeks it was intense but amazing!

I just finished this school last Thursday and it was a dope experience! I took the morning class from 9 to 1230pm and I had the pleasure of having Kim as my instructor. Great teacher, fun class, and my arsenal of drinks is 20+ haha. If you want your bartenders license ABC is the place to go!

I just took this class and I was surprised how much I learned in just 2 weeks, Kim was an excellent instructor. I highly recommend this program!!!

Raven was such a fun and passionate instructor. I learned so much from her, she not only teaches how to make drinks but how she shares her knowledge and stories and she makes every class interesting. I was really stressing out and nervous that I wouldn’t pass but woohoo I did it! Take the class here with Raven you’ll love it and her!

Just took this class and passed pretty easily due to the instructor Raven! She makes the course very easy to understand. She gives good advice and overall just insightful. Gives depth into the history of different alcohol unlike other instructors. Overall good class to take.

I had the pleasure of having Raven as an instructor. She was awesome! She taught us so much about not only making drinks, but the ins and outs of a bar. She not only taught us great drink recipes, she taught us confidence behind the bar which is very important. I highly recommend taking the 2 week course. If you are lucky enough to get Raven, it’s a bonus! I can’t wait to use what I learned and show off my skills! Thanks Raven, you are the best.

I took a course three years ago at national bartending school in covina. I never took the the test because I moved to NY for a bit.
So I came back to Cali and figured I would try to get certified. So I thought about going to back that the school I went to but a few friends of mine went to ABC bartending school. I saw a special on living social and decided to go for it.
Overall I loved the school, it was easy and fun. But most of all it didn’t feel intimidating. Kim is sweet, straight forward, and really cares that you do well. She’s straight forward on how the industry works and gives you advise.
The other instructor … I forgot his name lol! So bad… I know. But he is hilarious, as a bunch of experience, currently works three jobs, two bartending and working at the school. He gives you ins and outs about the industry as well. And is pretty easy going.
Both instructors are a great mix to learn from. They honestly want you to do well and pass.

I went into this not knowing what this class would entail. Raven really cares about teaching and she pushes all her students. At the same time even when for example students struggled she encourages and builds them up. I wish more teachers were like her. She’s also so passionate about bartending and loves to pass her knowledge on. I felt really great about the class and she makes it fun and easy. Anyone who didn’t have Raven as their instructor is missing out!

Raven is an awesome instructor & I recommend signing up with her if you decide to pursue bartending! She is very passionate in teaching & it shows! The knowledge & guidance given to you by Raven helps you to be a successful bartender! No b.s., she keeps it real & you finish with confidence! I hope she has the opportunity to continue to teach at the Los Alamitos location too because she rocks!

I had a great experience going through the bartending classes here! I was enrolled in the 6 – 9:30pm classes, and I honestly looked forward to this class more than my college classes. Kim was a blast to learn from, sharing drinking stories and laughs a lot of the time. A great part of getting certified here is they go over the process of landing a bartending gig and give a lot of helpful tips to do so. Even if you don’t plan on bartending full time, this is a fun class to experience, and having a bartending certification is always good!

Just received my bartending certification and I have to say it was definitely fun, energetic and super beneficial! if you have no experience or knowledge about bartending this is the class to take! Thanks to KIm I definitely walked out of there confident and aspired! The class provides written tests and hands on training behind the bar mixing drinks so you get a close as ever experience as a real bartender!!! With help on resumes, job leads and refreshment coursed anytime anywhere, you cant go wrong taking these class. I would recommend to anyone who’s interested in bartending careers!

Only reason I didn’t rate one star is because of the instructor, Ryan, who’s a good teacher, super experienced, funny, and has plenty of stories and tips to share.
Furnishings and equipment are run down and haggard. Bar is built too high, a lot of popular bottles aren’t stocked and the ones that are have labels so worn you can tell what they are only by the bottle. Food coloring and water is used instead of alcohol, which is fine, but often the colors are imbalanced so that the liquor has the incorrect color, which improperly trains the eye for how a drink or cocktail should look. Workbook is out of date and misses a lot of current brand labels and mixed drinks.
I’d recommend someone shadow a bartender and apply for actual work than going to this school.

I had been wanting to try a Bartending school for a while but was unsure because of the cost. When I saw a Living Social deal for ABC, I jumped on it since it was like $ 100 off the original cost.
I ended up doing the two week, M-​Th course from 9am-​1pm. I definitely recommend doing this instead of cramming all the drink recipes and skills within two weekends. If you have the time, of course. You get to digest the material every night and practice the next morning. Super helpful. I feel like I learned mostly in the practicing, not the studying.
I was expecting to be instructed by more than one person, but we only had one teacher, Kim, who was very knowledgeable, practical, and fun. She gave some good advice.
If you are thinking about bartending and don’t have any experience whatsoever, it is recommended to take a bartending course to get your hands dirty and see what it feels like to pour correctly, set up and break down a bar, learn alcohols, etc. It will give you confidence that is essential in this field.
And you get job leads. Keep in mind, it’s not job assistance. You just get an email with a list of job leads in L.A. and Orange County and it’s up to you to apply. They can also help you with your resume.
Overall, this place helped me gain confidence and basic skills in a short amount of time, and I was able to get job rather quickly. But it was the confidence this place gave me more than anything. I am very grateful for this experience and have no regrets.

This is a great school to attend if you want to learn and have fun while doing it! Kim is an excellent instructor!

Out of nowhere I decided to sign up for bartending school and I could not be happier with my decision. ABC Bartending School was located not far from my home and offers a unique experience for anyone thinking of pursuing a career in bartending. Our instructor JT was incredibly knowledgable and entertaining. This is a fast past adrenaline rush type of training so for anyone who isn’t ready to challenge themselves this is not the place for you.
I would highly recommend this school and getting your license. I can’t wait to come back to the school for free follow up training and utilizing their website for job leads.
