Honestly… it was just okay. Prices were okay, food was barely okay, service was okay. Don’t really have much more to say. Been wanting to try this place for a long time, kinda disappointed, won’t be going back. Heard they switched owners a while back… kinda explains why I had heard this place«used» to be so good.

Ok good food but a bit bland for me! But I prefer spicier so this is not! BUT it’s inexpensive so if I were around again, I would come back! Service was friendly

A hidden gem in Los Alamitos. Extensive menu of house specialties as well as regular breakfast and lunch items. I haven’t had a meal here that I didn’t enjoy during multiple visits. The service has been awesome since new owners took over earlier this year. Highly recommended to everyone in the area that hasn’t tried this place.

I ordered to go for breakfast. Server was super friendly and very quick! I know I do not always have the simplest order but the communication between the two(kitchen and waitress) were awesome and my food was so perfect ! I will be back

I love the atmosphere here. No nonsense place. I like the fact the age of at least half of the customers were older than me. You can always count on your elders to show you a good quality place! Good food for a decent price. Staff friendly and patient… All around a great place to spend Sunday breakfast or brunch!

Great place. Hidden gem in the neighborhood. The portions are large and fairly priced. The chicken fried steak is great. Especially for the price. Will definitely be coming back.

So I have to say there’s a big different between the words diner and café. This place is a diner. When you walk in its checkered floors and bright colors. The bar up front, the booth chairs? Yeah it’s a diner. I think they say café so it brings more people in. I was pleasantly surprised that the food was actually really good. I got a French toast platter and my date ordered home fries and bacon. Everything was pretty good but my French toast tasted like it wasn’t dipped. If you’re in Los Alamitos and want some decent breakfast make your way down to firehouse café!

We come here for breakfast on the weekend at least once a month. I love Eggs Benedict and have ordered it hundreds of times all over these United States. I have never had it come with sliced tomatoes hidden under the poached eggs. Quite a surprise if you are not ready for it. Otherwise, the Eggs Benedict here are fair(once you remove the tomatoes). The world famous Tuna Melt is not. I’ve tried most of their omelets on the menu — all good. I prefer the potatoes over the hashbrowns. Service is very friendly. At times I feel there is a language barrier with our server, because she often has at least one error with our order.

This was by far the worst breakfast experience ever. They brought out my friends biscuit 10 minutes before her food. so of course it was cold. then they put my sourdough muffin on her plate… then they did not cook my hash browns well like i asked… another 10 minutes. now my muffin was cold as well as my eggs and my hash browns which they had just re cooked. and everything tasted awful. .all the while the table next to us remained dirty with leftover food. a guy came and sat there because it was the only place to sit and the owner came over and asked him if he wanted a container! nasty… was not even his food. honestly Denny’s is waaayyyy better.

The customer service was good and the food was okay. I ordered a croissant sandwich with no meat, but low and behold there was meat in my sandwich… They made me another one with no meat and that was good but the place lost my interest once they messed up my sandwich.

Great service– speedy and helpful. Very Good/classic breakfast diner. Don’t expect great coffee or a bunch of healthy options, but definitely surprises you with quality of breakfast favorites like bacon eggs hash-browns. I’ve gone a few times and usually get some kind of scramble or eggs and hash combo. There’s a great crowd of regulars in there too.

I’m sorry but I’m writing this review based on what I experienced. Upon entering I sat down. The place looked broken down. We got coffee and water. The coffee wasn’t hot enough and tasted like it was from old coffee grounds. The water was from the faucet. Straight up. After looking over the menu I asked for jalapeño poppers and the waitress told me that she wasn’t sure if they had them since they got new owners 2 months ago. So why isn’t the menu updated??? Makes no sense. We had sat next to the refrigerator in the back. Not the cleanest. They had dirty bottles of syrups. And their syrups were from Ralphs. I paid for my 2 coffees that I didn’t drink and left. I didn’t even want to eat.

I come here probably once a week to get my low carb breakfast/brunch fix. I’ve eaten here with friends a couple times, but usually pick up my food to go. I’ve tried so many breakfast items! Pastrami & eggs scramble, pork chops & eggs, bacon & eggs, chicken fried steak, chili n cheese omelette, burger patty & eggs, avocado bacon n cheese(ABC) omelette. you name it, if it has eggs, I’ve probably tried it!(I love eggs!) The food isn’t the BEST I’ve ever had, but it’s not bad! Most of the food is cooked well, I’ve sometimes had dry porkchops/burger patties, but it is definitely better than Denny’s! I keep coming back because the workers and patrons are so friendly and welcoming. It’s easy to swap out food items and super easy to pick up on my way to work. When you eat here, it’s like you’re eating brunch with family. The environment is great. like walking into an episode of Cheers! :)

A three alarm FIREHOUSECAFÉ I LOVE this place! I’ve been here a few times and I fell in love with it right away! The first time I came here it was for lunch and I think I got a sandwich or something but I really can’t remember what I had this morning for breakfast! I only remember the lunch was good and satisfying and the reason I wanted to go back! You would remember food NOT being good and NOT go back! GOTEB had chili cheese fries and they were really good! Nice healthy French fries not some limp fry that can’t hold on the chili or cheese and the order was HUGE! I mostly come for breakfast on the weekends! This place REALLY gets hoppin’ so don’t be shocked if you may have to wait for a table! There is plenty of parking as it is located in a business strip mall type of place on the corner! It is a little hidden thus I have passed by it for about 16 years and NEVER gave it s second thought! It’s not a big place but it is family owned by this AWESOME, HARDWORKING Korean husband and wife team. The entire theme inside is firehouse, firemen, fire truck theme. They have tons of firemen patches all over the walls from just about every firehouse in the US, as well as pictures and other memorabilia. Your greeted as you walk in and you can pick where you want to sit when it’s not busy so there is really no need to stand around waiting for someone to seat you! The second time I went in they remembered me! You only get that personal treatment with small business and I LOVEIT! The breakfast here is REALLYGREAT and they of course have all the normal stuff like waffles, eggs, pancakes, French toast, hash browns and home potatoes, and omelets. If you order the ham and eggs be prepared to take some home as you are REALLY going to get a huge slice of ham! They definitely cut it right off the behind and it is NICE and ROUND like the oinker butt! I usually get some sort of omelet and this last time I mixed it up and did a veggie omelet and added green chilies which was AWESOME! When I go with my mom she REALLYLOVES that they don’t OVER-DO-IT with the salt! She has to watch her salt intake and you can always add it but once it is in your food you’re screwed! You really get a lot of food and it comes out HOT, HOT, HOT just like I like it and the way HOT food should come from the kitchen! They are sure to keep your cup filled with coffee and do not have a problem getting you extra napkins, jelly, plate f you have a little person with you! I saw several parents ordering food and because you get so much you are able to share with the mini-me in your life WITHOUT a «SHAREPALATE» charge like some places do! I HATETHAT! I mean how much can a 1 – 2 year old eat that you would charge me $ 3.99 for a plate? You WILLNOT have that problem here! No fluff, no fancy uniforms, no pretentious people, no fancy names to the food just good olé fashioned home style cooking for a good price with a SUPERDUPERFRIENDLYSTAFF and that one on one with the actual owners! Everyone helps out to and is not afraid to pour you a cup of coffee to top you off or fill you up! I even got a mini Korean lesson. I need to improve my Korean so I get to practice when I go in! If you like good food without the fluff stop by here!

Definitely loved to vibe here as a biker, American and a simple man. I’ve read most of the reviews on here, I had been meaning to try this place, which is across the street from my office. I now come here almost every morning for breakfast and occasional lunch and to dive into The Word. Gina usually works breakfast and Helen works the lunch. I gave it a four-star to be unbiased. This is my regular breakfast place, but I want to be true to my Unilocal followers. This isn’t a high reviewed restaurant with a reputation of high class dinning. It’s a coffee dinner for regular people with a regular schedule. It’s simple, it’s welcoming, and it’s a place I can call mine.

Firehouse Café the big hope… the big hosed. I spotted this place on the Unilocal radar, while looing for some breakfast in the area. I was so hoping that this place would be a breakfast keeper ‘cuz its close to my kids and would make for a convienent weekend breakfast spot. A bit hard to spot, but I eventually found it. The resturant is tucked in a corner of an industrial complex. Plenty of parking on the weekend. Walked in and looked around for help… nope none … so we found our own table. It took several min for anyone to notice we were there, but eventually the waitress(only one) brought some menus to our table. I ordered coffee and poof she, was gone! Got my coffee in about 5 min and she took our orders. The food came in bits and pieces, cold and not so good. FOODORDERED: Waffle, egg and bacon Kids B-fast, fruit, egg, sausage Eggs Sausage and hashbrowns FOODTASTE: Waffle, egg and bacon This came first and my older daughter ate almost half before quitting, she said the waffle was cold(notice the unmelting butter?) and so were the scrambled eggs, she said it was ok, but I told her it was not! «If this ever happens again speak up.» I’ll send it back. «But the bacon was OK dad» 2**Stars Kids B-fast, fruit, egg, sausage Luckilly my 6 year old is always hungry when she wakes so she had already had some cerial at home. Because her B-fast was weak. She liked some of he fruit but cold eggs and the spicy sausage didnt get touched. 1*Star My breakfast came last, the eggs were perfectly fried and the sausage had a nice kick, but the h-browns were damn near raw and not edible. Oh yea they brought us our toast ½ way through the meal. And I never got a coffee refill even though I was waving my cup around. I loved the sausage the service and overall quality sucked! 2**Star This place has potential to be a good one, but cold food and poor service killed the deal for me. 1*Star FAIL! I will not be back!
