Kumon Math and Reading Center of Los Alamitos

This is the best Kumon Learning Center.
Naomi is so concerned about my child’s needs, progress, and growth.
I live in Irvine but continue to visit this location because of Naomi and her fantastic staff.
The continuity of teaching styles and attention to small details translate into my child’s success at school.
I would have a very hard time changing locations.
I highly recommend you check it out for yourself.

My daughter has been going to Kumon with Mrs. Naomi since she was 3. She is now 7 and in 2^nd grade. At age 7, she is doing long division with excitement, confidence, and is loving the challenges it comes with. Mrs. Naomi has played a huge part in my daughter’s success in math. She has always paid attention and understands my daughter’s needs, struggles and strengths. We definitely plan on having our other daughter, who is now 3, attend this Kumon as well.

I have been a Kumon mom for over 6 years now so I know first-​hand how effective the Kumon Program is!
When I first enrolled my children in Kumon in October 2009, it was for two different reasons.
I wanted my daughter, who has always been intrinsically motivated and driven to do well academically (she’s currently a straight A high school student), to be challenged by newer and higher levels of math. She breezed through the earlier levels and worked her way through to high school level math while still in elementary & junior high.
My son, on the other hand, struggled in both math and reading in school. While I knew that he knew the material in school, his focus and determination were not there, and because he was not applying himself in his school work and assignments, his grades were just average, and sometimes, slightly below average. No matter how much I guided him and helped him with his homework, I felt there was just something more that could be done for him. Upon the first few months of enrolling him in Kumon, I had seen a dramatic change and still do to this day. He has since surpassed his school peers and with the daily Kumon work, he’s continuing to grow in both math and reading!
I have only great things to say about the Kumon of Los Alamitos: The Instructor, Ms Naomi, and all her staff have been great in helping develop my children’s abilities! They are attentive to their individual needs! They praise and recognize their achievement! They’re very positive and friendly! They are open and transparent when it comes to communication regarding my children’s progress and goals!
You cannot go wrong with Kumon! If you’re reading my review, then it means that you are wondering if Kumon is the right avenue for your child. Let me answer this for you — YES IT IS! Whether your child has remedial needs (like my son had when we first enrolled) or enrichment needs (like my daughter), Kumon is for your child! Kumon has worked wonders for my children — it will work wonders for yours, too!
Seeing these real results first-​hand makes me super excited to enroll my 2−½ year old son, and hopefully, he’ll be starting his Kumon journey this coming January!
UPDATE:
My now 3 ½ year old son, Maxx, has been enrolled at the Los Alamitos Center since January 2015 and in the few short months he’s been doing Kumon, He’s learned to count, read and recognize up to 3-​digit numbers. He’ll soon be learning +1 in Math! In Reading, he knows all his letter sounds and can write and recognize all letters (upper and lowercase!), and he’s learning consonant combinations — like «sp», «bl», «cr». It’s so amazing to see his progress, and even more, how proud he is of himself!
