Residence Inn Cypress Los Alamitos

Just recently renovated. Really nicely done. Outdoor pool, basketball court. Breakfast is average. Light dinner every weekday evening with wine and beer… always a plus. Some things you can walk to… like dinner. And of course great LA weather… but that isn’t due to the hotel.
I would stay again when I’m back in the area.

Great location; nice and clean hotel; however, my rating is low due to the following:
–i was not shown the Marriott member rate (did not pop up at all) during the reservation process. This rate is actually cheaper.
–I reserved a one-​bedroom suite (for 3) and paid for 1-​bedroom but I was directed to studio, kingsize which was a just a little bit bigger but no privacy. I had only 3 hours sleep the night before and so just wanted to go to my room and sleep and really didn’t want to hassle with changing rooms etc. I appreciate that due to my «elite» status, the hotel did an automatic update but in terms of room privacy, this was a decision that the hotels needs first check with the guest before automatically assigning a different room
–there was a note that dishes were not washed as the dishwasher was not full; but plates were disgusting with lots of dried food particles stuck on them; cutlery was dirty with food particles; coffee mugs and drinking glasses were all dirty; In order for us to use the dishes, I had to wash them myself!
–we have enjoyed our stay at the Anaheim Marriott (1-​bedroom suite) and so that may be an option next time or Wyndham (vacation property) which is also really nice; now why I didn’t stay there when I had free nights

Actually staying at the residence inn at the long beach location. Incredibly nice welcoming happy hour and very friendly residents and staff! Thank you for such a memorable stay can’t wait to come back!

It is unfortunate I have to say poor customer service and I’m being conservative. I dealt with Manager Karen over the phone regarding a one night stay certificate I had won which expired. Considering it was only one night, I figured I could call and see if an arrangement or courtesy can be made but not only did she not honor it, she was quite rude on the phone which I felt was unnecessary. I tried contacting corporate office and all they did was refer me back to her. It is a shame, a company as big as they are, to give you the run around various times via phone and to give such poor attitude and no consideration. 4931 Katella Avenue, Los Alamitos, CA

Forget about this hotel. Made a reservation, had the paperwork with me showing the rez number along with the nightly cost.
The lady at the desk told me she could not honor the rate, I asked to see the manager, she replied you’ll need to wait about 45 minutes, as the manager just left.
Asked her to cancel the reservation, found another hotel quickly, called got a lower rate at a much better hotel

Great location with costco, dining and activities all around. My wife and i stayed here for new years eve 2015. Nice spacious room (handicap room) clean that over looked the horse race track. We went for dinner at Fronks in Bellflower, a show at the orpheum in downtown and them Knotts berry farm on new years day. It was a great trip. Breakfast buffet was good. Eggs, ham, sausage and typical sugar, carb and fruits, breads etc available. Coffee was better than i expected.
The only reason I am giving four stars is because we had to park at the shopping center next door because their parking lot was full. Not a good thing at 130am in really cool weather.

Very well priced for clean rooms, great breakfast, only 15 mins from disney. There is WiFi so it makes it very convenient to use. We stayed 4 to a room but they were out of double beds so they offered us a couch bed and it was actually more comfortable than expected.

Nice clean room very big and the breakfast area was a decent size with a good selection!

Amazing place. Staying here I feel more at home, than in a strange hotel somewhere. Walking in the living area is spacious, with a kitchen and full sized fridge, and in a separate room the bedroom with connected bathroom.
I’m so happy with this place, I would have given 5 stars, except they’re missing the pompous butler who’s always up your ass.

Pretty standard.
I couldn’t find the paper towels for the life of me until the last day of our stay.
The utensils weren’t complete but I guess that shouldn’t matter too much when there’s only three of you needing them.
Great location to the places we needed to be at; Long Beach and Disneyland Park.
I’d stay again…

Nice place for an extended stay. I was here so long I would refer to it as home. The whole place is clean and the staff is friendly and accommodating. My only complaints are the breakfasts get tired quickly and the flies make it impossible to sit outside and enjoy a cup of coffee or read a book.

Awesome stay! Very clean spacious rooms with kitchenette! Free continental bfast! Free FAST wifi! Nice pool&jacuzzi! VERY friendly and attentive staff! Quiet and safe neighborhood with LOTS of neighboring restaurants. Definitely will be coming back and recommend this hotel if you’re staying few days/​week. It’s not the Ritz, but you get what you pay for. And they far exceeded our expectations! Thank you Marriott!!!

Let me first say that the photographer that took the online photos must be related to Ansel Adams cause the photos online are far from reality. This place is the worst marriot property I’ve ever stayed at and I won’t be back. … gold elite with over 100k points with Marriott just fyi. Carpet… gross, furniture.. gross, beds. .suck, room. .stinks, etc

We stayed one night.
VERY clean and tidy. Probably cleaned Marriott I’ve been in and we are Marriott Vacation Club owners.
Didn’t smell musty or over fragrant.
Complimentary breakfast
Pool, hot tub and tennis courts
Bed VERY uncomfortable
Bathroom light and fan come on in the bathroom every few hours automatically. KEEP THE DOOR CLOSED AT NIGHT. IT WILL WAKE U UP. Bathroom door faces bed.
Website states they have roller beds. THEY DO NOT CARRY THEM! One of us had to sleep on the dirty floor. Carpet stained too. Called and was told they would send one up. When it never arrived I was told they didn’t carry them!
The air conditioning will come on about every 15 minutes. Let me just say that it is likened to when you were in the car with only one window open. That terrible buffering sound that makes you want to put your hands to your head because it feels skull crushing. It literally shook my bed. So as you can imagine, about every 15 minutes during the course of the evening I was woken up. AND it was STILL hot in here!
Backs up to a noisy horse race track.
Very nice facility and hotel, but if you want to get any sleep stay somewhere else.

When I found out I had asbestos and it had to be removed after some water damage in my house I was NOT REAALLL HAPPY but I was trying to have the best attitude I possibly could since I WASN’T PAYING FOR IT and FINALLY after forking over thousands of dollars to my home owners ins it has paid off.
My ins was GREAT and when I told them I would need a 2bd/​2baa place with a kitchenette (as though I cook) and a place that take dogs because I DID NOT want to board my fur babies for 3 – 5 weeks they took care of me. YES I would be LIVING at the RESIDENCE INN for 3 — 5 WEEKS while they removed asbestos, drywall, bathroom toilet (the culprit), bathroom cabinet, as well as all my furniture downstairs had to be packed up. AGAIN ins was footing the bill so even though it was UBER INCONVIENENT I wasn’t paying for it so it was making this process easier.
I first stopped by to check out if they had what I was looking for and to see the mini apt with my own 4 eyes. From beginning to end THE ENTIRE STAFF was SUPER NICE, ACCOMADATING, and FRIENDLY! Matt greeted me and took me up to the apt to check it out! It was prefect and they allowed ruff-​ruffs.
So I just need to wait for ALE who works with my ins company to find me a place in my area to contact me and arrange everything. THE GREAT thing was I didn’t have to pay up front because the hotel works with the ins company! SO GREAT! I did need to put down a $ 150 incidental fee that I got back since I’m NOT and destructive person a my fur babies didn’t cause any damage. That was reasonable.
We packed up our things for the 3– 5 weeks which actually was longer and moved in. We had about 650 sqft, 2bd/​2ba, living room, kitchen and small dining table! It was MUCH smaller then we are used to but PREFECT since I’m NOT into cardboard boxes and sleeping outside under a bridge! Camping is GREAT but not for my long term needs!
The girls (ruff-ruff’s) were not too happy they didn’t have a yard but I was able to walk them all the time which they LOVED! House keeping was awesome and I was able to set up a schedule for them to come because everyday was too much! Stephanie from house keeping was ALWAYS SUPER DUPER FRIENDLY and NICE! SOOO PROFESSIONAL and SWEET! LOVE HER!
When it comes to food this pace is PREFECT! You can cook yourself in the mini kitchenette, but I don’t do that at home so let’s keep the party moving. They have SEVERAL NICE restaurants in the area and some chains so for out-​of-​towners this is PREFECT because there is probably something familiar close by. They also offer a NICE HOT Bfast EVERY MORNING! And they change it up a bit! There is something for everyone. It’s not 5 start but I didn’t have to cook it and most of it was actually PRETY GOOD! They had everything from egg, sausage, ham, all types of bread and rolls, several different cereals, milk, 2 kinds of juice, potatoes, salsa, cheese, waffles, yogurt, parfaits, coffee, tea, fresh fruit, oatmeal, etc. Every morning something would change to keep it interesting so it was GREAT! Annndddd once again I didn’t have to cook and I wasn’t paying for it! I was there so love the staff because like family. I would wave and chat with them all the time! SO considering my circumstances it was working out and I was able to grin and bear it!
They also have a pool, Jacuzzi, workout room, lounge to watch TV, FREE Wifi and Monday — Wednesday they would have something special going on like they would grill for the residence, food trucks, dessert, sangria or wine and cheese, tacos, burgers, etc. They REALLY try to make you feel at home which was what I needed!
For the fur babies they ask that you try to keep them confined when house keeping is to come in or let them know and they can come back when your there with ren-​tin-​tin and clean up. They also have a small doggie area so you can take your fur baby to potty and ANNNDDDD they supply poop bags so NO EXCUSES! You are free to walk your beloved fur baby around the property but they NEED to BE ON A LEASH! and for Pete-​Sake pick up after your pet OR DON’T OWN ONE! There is NOTHING WORSE then some HORRID PET PARENT ALLOWING there child to Poop and NOT pick it up! GOOD NIGHT IRENE! That is just as bad as two-​legged child parents allowing there kids to run all over UNSUPERVISED! NO one likes it! I saw soooo many landminds from pet parents NOT picking up after there children! It was RIDIC!
Over all I would totally stay here again and I don’t like hotels but they truly came through in a pinch! It was actually NICE getting to know some of the employees and I even met other homeowners staying there because of water damage to there homes as well! Small world!
I would definitely have out-​of-​towners stay here because a Happy HOME is a Guest that stays at a hotel because I’m NOT going to be at your beck-​in-​call and really don’t want you staying with me.

This stay was without a doubt the worst hotel experience ever.
We came after spending 5 days at the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel to visit Disneyland with our son.
When checking in to our room the friendly lady in the reception asked if we wanted to upgrade our room to a 2 bedroom for additional $ 20 dollars which we did.
After dropping off our luggage in the room we went out for dinner and afterwards to the 9.30 PM fireworks at Disneyland.
We came back around 10.45 PM and went to bed — that’s when it all started.
My son a wife was sleeping in the one bedroom and me in the other. As soon as I went to bed it felt like an earthquake or being in a construction zone. It turns out my bedroom was just by the ventilation system for the entire building. I’ve never tried anything like this. My head felt like exploding when being in the room and never mind trying to sleep. After 15 minutes the sound disappeared for a few minutes and then came back again in full force.
I called the front desk and they send guy working as a some sort of practical guy for the hotel. When he went into the room he said this is crazy. He had not heard that sound before! I told him there was no way I was able to sleep since the bed was buzzing like standing in a construction zone. I said that we were going to pay for a room like that.
After he left I called the front desk again and spoke with the night receptionist. I explained the situation and his response was that he would refund my $ 20 for the upgrade and give me 5000 bonus points! I was furious and said to him: So what you are saying is that I get to pay $ 150 for a room where I cannot sleep?! I asked him to come immediately and check out the room. Just as he entered the room of course the sound went away and you could tell he did not really believe there was a problem. I tried my best to explain how crazy the sound was. So he went back to he reception and just as I thought the booming notice came back. So I called again and asked him to come back. Once he entered my bedroom he could tell what was going on. He said that it would not be possible for me to sleep in this noise — and oh boy was he right. He then asked if we wanted another room but since my wife and son was in the other room sleeping there was no way I was going to change rooms at 12.00 AM. He said he would give us 50% off the bill. I then said, well I need another room for me to sleep so he found a room for me where I could spend the night. Not exactly what we were hoping for.
Anyways next morning I returned to my wife and son and a bill had been slipped under the door. This jerk had charged me THE FULL AMOUNT! I was so pissed off.
We went to breakfast and explained to a young gentleman what had happened and that this had been a terrible experience already. He quickly gave us the 50% discount.
We then sat down for breakfast but quickly our bad impression was topped by something out of our imagination. My wife wanted to give our son some bread, but luckily he did not want to eat it. Looking at the bread my wife said: WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?! I took her plate and showed the bread to the front desk guy who I just spoke to and said to him that the bread is clearly not as good as it looks. He just said OH MY GOD! The bread was MOLDY!!! (See pictures) This was the most disgusting thing I have experienced at any hotel!
We have had it at this crappy hotel and left for Disneyland.
Needless to say the absolute worst hotel experience ever! I cannot believe that anyone would even charge you for a stay like this!
I recently joined Marriott Rewards but after his I am happy that other chains like Hilton offer a quality and standard that is at minimum of comfort.
SHAME ON YOU MARRIOTT!

We stayed at this hotel from 3÷5÷15 — 3÷8÷15 for a family vacation to Disneyland. We were greeted right away with a smile and a friendly hello from the desk clerk. Check in was fast and easy. We stayed in room 444 and were very happy with the accommodations. The room and the rest of the hotel lobby and grounds were clean and well kept. We felt safe and very comfortable in our room. The breakfast was good too. They offered make yourself waffles, cereals, potatoes with bell peppers, sausage, eggs, muffins, oatmeal, juices, toast, bagels etc… definitely a good selection. The entire hotel staff was very accommodating and super friendly. Will definitely stay here again for our next visit to Disneyland.

Average Marriott hotel in a good location. Room needs a make over. I have a bathroom with a drain in the middle of the bathroom to drain the shower close to the toilet. Older décor with drawers that don’t open easily. Like that a gym is within walking distance.

This is my first stay that I have had issue with the e-​certificate and point system. I seems that not only I am using my «Free anniversary night» certificate but they are also charging me 15 000 points which is the same as double charging me for the same stay. I rather pay my .08 cent tax with cash. Also when using rewards you can only get the lower tier suites or studios.
Other than that is it a great place to stay.

We stayed here for one night in a two bedroom/​two bathroom suite and it was perfect for us. The hotel is located in a nice quiet area with plenty of resturants and stores in the area. Short drive to the freeway. The staff was really nice, even gave me cookies upon check-​in. I felt safe leaving my car in the parking lot. The free breakfast was a big plus! And they offer free Wi-​Fi!
As for cons — the toiletry items in one of the bathrooms were not replaced, they were all opened and used from the previous guest, and one of the hand towels was very old and had a ripped in it. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable but the beds in the rooms were fine.
