Bay Area Hyperbarics opened in 1998 providing affordable Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to patients in the South Bay and surrounding areas. It is the only hyperbaric clinic south of San Francisco and north of Monterey that uses Medicare approved hyperbaric hard chambers reimbursable by insurance.
Bay Area Hyperbarics treats multiple diagnoses and conditions approved by Medicare, such as: non-healing wounds (internal and external), radiation damage and burns from cancer treatments, bone infections, refractory osteomyelitis, osteoradionecrosis, crush injuries, and more. We are committed to providing the best possible care in a welcoming environment. We recognize that each patient has unique health care needs and we offer professional and compassionate care to everyone.
Bay Area Hyperbarics treats multiple diagnoses and conditions approved by Medicare, such as: non-healing wounds (internal and external), radiation damage and burns from cancer treatments, bone infections, osteoradionecrosis, crush injuries, compromised skin grafts and flaps, progressive necrotizing infections, acute traumatic peripheral ischemia, gas gangrene, peripheral arterial insufficiency, decompression illness and others.
In addition to the conditions approved by Medicare, hyperbaric medicine has been used effectively to treat other conditions as well: athletic injuries, autism, auto-immune disorders, brain injuries and more.

Business Owner
Lisa St. John is our Clinic Director. She was trained at both Harvard and Stanford Universities and has spent the last 30 years working in the health care field. Taking care of patients is her first love. Hyperbarics became her focus when her doctor told her she needed hyperbarics to heal her bone infection. She was treated successfully with hyperbarics which helped cure her infection. Realizing the lack of available HBOT facilities and the need for this essential treatment, Lisa started Bay Area Hyperbarics in 1998 in Mountain View, CA. She personally knows what it is like to be sick and directs the clinic with a focus on making the patients’ treatment experience both healing and valuable. Lisa has been active in health care both at an international level with the World Health Organization and on a local level at Stanford Medical Center, Mayfield Health Center, Kaiser, and St. Francis Hospital in San Francisco.
