Svetlana «Lana» Tokar is licenced Esthetician who has been practicing at leading Bay Area spas for over 18 years. Originally from the Ukraine, she has lived in the Bay Area for 20 years. She worked at La Belle Day Spa for many years before deciding to open Lana’s Beauty Zone in 2004 to provide more personal and customized skin care and body treatments to her many loyal clients.

Lana continuously researches for latest, breakthroughs in skin and body care, bringing her clients the very finest products and services available — such as the HydraFacial and LED red light therapy.

Lana was recommended by a friend when my son had acne problems. I have taken my oldest teenage son with acne issues and am now taking my younger son of 14 y/o. Since I have been taking them with good results I have joined in on the facials also. Lana is very helpful with teenage care and took a lot of time explaining a simple routine with my son. I recommend Lana’s hydra facials also.

Hydrafacials at Lana’s are very good and leave skin rejuvenated. Sometimes the skin feels too sensitive afterwards, but I should apply more moisturizer. Overall the service is very good. I like Lana as a person, she always has some good advice to share.

I have been going to Lana for about 4 mts now for hydra facials and she is amazing. I have been doing hydra facials back in the East Coast and she’s is by far the best. Lana is not only amazing at the facials but she gives you solid guidance on how to maintain and take care of your face. She spends 2+hrs with me and is extremely patient. I love going to her as she really cares about her clients and their face. Since I have been seeing Lana my face is moist and clear free from all dead cells. I feel so rejuvenated and I motivated to take care of my skin. Lana also knows when you are cheating and would reprimand me for not following through with my products. I just love Lana.

I don’t always write reviews on Unilocal,but I decided to write this one. I am Asian in my late twenties, I have always had acne problems, but I recently started seeing Lana for hydra facials. She also recommended me some of her products, in particular, the cleanser, toner, and scrub was really helpful for me. I started seeing dramatic results after a week. My skin pored are smaller, the skin feels tighter. I have always had oily and sensitive skin, and I can honestly say I no longer have as much oil on my skin, and my skin feels a lot better than before. My skin is in it’s best condition so far. Highly recommend her products and the hydra facial!

I have been going to Lana for facial for years now and I have never been disappointed! Lana is very kind and always will make you comfortable but in a professional way! She definitely knows what she is doing and her product is amazing. She also always gives great recommendations on how to treat your skin. As soon as you lay down on the table, you feel so relaxed and comfortable and you never want to leave her room after the facial is done. Her face massage is the best massage I ever had! Lana also fixed my eyebrows and I am always very satisfied with her work. If you ever want to have a great experience on getting a facial, I strongly recommend Lana. You will not be disappointed!

I am 12 years old and I have been going to Lana’s Beauty Zone for monthly underarm waxing. Lana is very gentle, kind, and friendly towards me. Her office is extremely clean and comfortable as well. I have been going to Lana off and on for many years. Her facials are the best I’ve ever experienced. I have very troubled acne skin and she has completely cleared my breakouts and improved my skin texture. Lana customizes each facial to meet my skin’s needs at that time. The products she sells are also great. I have never felt pressured to buy, but she does make suggestions on which products would be best for your skin’s situation. I’ve been going to Lana for hydro facial for over a year now. Lana is pleasant and I feel relaxed and refreshed after each treatment. While you are there, she makes you feel comfortable and not rushed. She gives good recommendations on skincare and make necessary adjustment on the treatment based on the condition of your skin. She will try to sell you skin products and seems disappointed when you do not make a purchase. overrall, I would recommend Lana as she is experienced and definitely knows what she is doing.

I had the hydrofacial at Lana’s for the first time two weeks ago. My skin felt amazing during and after. Lana had wonderful tips for my beauty regimen and really understood my skin and personal situation. For instance, she suggested I washed my face when I got home from work (I always tried to do it before bed and 90% of the time skipped a few steps, because was too tired). :) I highly recommend Lana!

Now that I’ve moved away, I feel a lot more comfortable writing this. Overall, I think Lana is a good facialist (I only did Hydrafacials), but she is so focused on selling products/making money that a lot of the relaxation of the facial is wasted. A couple of issues: (i) no asking personal quesitons/talking during facials – I am such a fanatic about this that I always, politely, tell providers (facial, massage, nails, etc.) that I don’t want to talk during sessions. I come there to relax and shut down my brain. This did not work with Lana… even though I repeated it. Apparently, I was supposed to tell her all about my life (married?), where I lived (how much do you pay for rent?), the make of my car (agh!), and my «family situation»… the only reason I indulged these questions is because I bought a series and I didn’t want to piss her off. But it was really uncomfortable. (ii) the hard sell – when she wasn’t asking personal questions, she was trying to sell me something during the session – during my last appointment there I mentioned I was moving to LA due to a serious family situation. As I’m telling her something fairly serious, her response is that if I buy facial products, she can ship them to LA. My response was so befuddled that I think even she realized it was inappropriate, but too little too late. Finally, she gives you deals if you leave positive Unilocal reviews which sounds a bit sketchy to me.
In any case, if you can get a good deal (Groupon), I would suggest you go get one good facial and not get talked into buying a series… what you save in money, you end up paying in aggravation.

If you really want to have a facial: Lana’s Beauty Zone is the best in the world. Lana knows skin like no other. I have had three facials and come out a new person. She has taught me about skin, what to use and NOT use. I have most of her products now. I just got back home from my 4^th facial and looked in the mirror! Well, who was I? A person at least 10 years younger. Sher is like magic. I highly recommend her to all.

Lana is super pleasant and makes you feel very comfortable while she does her magic! She makes your experience very personal, and gives an effort to get to know you. I go in for a monthly wax (full leg & bikini). She does great work, and will ask you to check over her work before she is finished, that way, satisfaction is guaranteed. The aesthetics and ambiance also contributes to the overall experience that you can look forward to when being serviced by Lana.
I don’t really understand why people are complaining about the prices. You’re paying for luxury and convenience, and for someone to do your dirty work. If you’re expecting quality service, then you should be willing to pay accordingly; which is irrelevant anyway since Lana’s prices are reasonable. If you’re looking for a new place, I encourage you to check out Lana’s Beauty Zone; she’ll take great care of you!

I have been going to Lana for the past 5 years, after going to 4 other people over the past 20 years. I like her professional, private and personable approach to skin care. My husband and my teenaged daughter now also go to her. I have never purchased any skin care products from her and have never had any pressure to do so. Lana is AMAZING! I had my very first Hydrafacial, which was fantastic! Lana was accomodating and very informative as well. She explained every step of the process. Also, the table you lay on can be adjusted for a comfortable position, and it’s heated too! (BONUS) The facial process was wonderful. I loved the massage on my face, she has the magic touch. My skin has never felt so fresh and clean and hydrated. In fact I’ve purchased another 3 and can’t wait until my next appointment. Thank you Lana!

I got to Lana’s salon through Groupon the first time and I am going to stay. She gives a very personal service, remembers you, your skin problems and actually leads your skin to a better place from treatment to treatment.
I have an adult acne problem and now it has finally got better. Her products are helping me to keep it under control at home and after each facial I fill that my skin is clean and in great condition (not irritated a bit after the extractions).

I really like Lana. I have been seeing her for about 8 months and my skin is transformed. I have been really good at following her suggestions and using her products, and I was not expecting a miracle after the first visit. She is very personable, listens, and seems to have lots of experience. I have recommended a couple of friends and they are also happy with the services. She also does my eyebrows and I love it!
Her products are expensive but whose esthetician’s products aren’t? And based on other reviews, she is chatty, so if you do not like to talk during your facial she is not your person.
I plan to continue using her services!

I went to Lana’s because I bought a groupon. The first facial was hydrating and did my skin well. I would have like a more gentle touch during the massage part of the facial. Nevertheless, my skin felt dewey and fresh and I bought a 3-package deal. I will see Lana again for another facial from my deal. But in the future I want a more gentle and effective massage during the facial. I can do masks and creams at home but I cannot do a face massage at home.
