We have owned a loft at 655 Hope for two years and absolutely love the location. It is on the corner of 7th Street which is in the heart of the financial district and restaurant central. We are over the top of the metro and within walking distance to Staple center and new 7th and Fig Target center. We have beautiful stainless steel appliances and floor to ceiling windows. The security team is diligent and personable. The common areas are clean and rooftop views are outstanding.

Great property with best location in downtown. This loft is a second home for me and is very convienent to everything I love about LA. There are over 30 restaurants within easy walking distance — Japanese, Steaks, Seafood, Peruvian, Mexican, Thai plus great roof top bars and plenty of shopping. The building has a private basement access to the Metro, roof top with nice bar and BBQ plus a really nice workout room(including 2 new $ 5K treadmills) that is never busy. Beutiful hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, huge windows and excellent doorman /security. Building just installed state of the art security system requiring key fob to get to your floor. I have never had any problems with management — ALWAYS responsive. Parking is tight(like all of downtown) but always available.

In my opinion, 655 is one of the worst places to live in DTLA. The parking situation is a nightmare and you can tell it is a very poorly managed building. I have multiple friends in the building, and their security turnover is very high. The amenities of the building are very subpar, the gym equipment is cheap, and the rooftop is nothing special. I’ve heard rumors that there are even residents in the building who feel the need to enforce rules and policies when they have no authority to, making for a very uncomfortable living situation. In terms of location, there are homeless and transients that hang out on the steps of the building 24⁄7 and are often spotted trying to get into the garage here. I work nearby and have even seen people urinating and defecting on the building. In terms of insides of rooms, it’s nice but there are no windows that open. On a positive note, the security officers here are nice! I am no longer renting here after my terrible experiences.

Although the building is quite nice on the inside, the rooms don’t have functioning windows. Also the group who ran the auctions at this place(i think the same group currently selling) are ridiculous thieves. If you’re looking for a place to move into downtown, look elsewhere unless you want to be part of this shady project. 2 years ago I had a winning bid on a unit here at about 340k. They counter offered me at 625k. WTF was the point of the auction? The funny thing is this unit is still vacant, so it’s been sitting there doing nothing for 2 years. Well done! However, it was a HUGE blessing in disguise because I scored a much better place at a better location.
