$ 1 tacos people! What do you expect from East LA for a $ 1? And if it’s really uncomfortable for you you don’t belong in East LA. Btw the restaurant is now open & the truck is still there.

Wow this truck draws some crowds and that’s generally a sign of good things, look’s like their opening a restaurant very soon Well maybe my standards for a good taco are higher than most, I don’t see why this truck draws all these people, food is not very good and I’d not bother to return. Tacos de Carne Asada y Al Pastor — Carne Asada — If you like gristle and fatty flavorless meat?, this taco might be for you, not me! 1-Star Al Pastor — I love me some piggy, al pastor is supposed to be very flavorful from the marinade, but not this one… all I get is a mild taste of pork, salsa was good, but tortillas were falling apart /fail 2-Stars Buche(Dorado) — I asked for the buche to be cooked bien, bien dorado, frito… meaning I wanted it crispy!, I did like the buche with the green salsa but the buche was only lightly grilled and nowhere near crispy as I asked for. 2.5-Stars

Some of the best tacos on the East Side. I used to drive to East LA at least 3 times a month to eat tacos at King Taco till a friend of mine told me about this place. Since I’ve gone there I can’t stop, I’ve taken all my friends and they enjoy the tacos as much as I do. The neighborhood is not creepy at all, and I’ve never had an issue with the locals. This place get an A+ in my book. PS the tacos are only a buck a piece and for the size it’s totally worth it.

Driving thru East LA at 10:30 am and passed a taco place where the parking lot was full. Men were in line, and others were eating tacos under one of the two patios. Looked promising. As I kept driving I thought ‘maybe I’m missing out on something? Shoots, it’s not even a place it’s a taco truck!(see pictures)”. So I turned around figuring that if a taco truck can draw a crowd this early, have a patio, and it’s own parking lot — it must be muy good! The taco man was nice and gave me two carne asada tacos on full sized corn tortillas. It was the standard chopped up marinated beef, cilantro, onion, and red salsa. Handed him a $ 5 as I didn’t know how much they were and he handed me back $ 3. Wow, a buck each? Walked over to sit under the patio with about 15 mexican patrons staring at me. Didn’t know if I was being sized up as a victim but then two guys(not smiling) sat right next to me. Why? There’s plenty of space here Dickheads. So, I got back to business and started eating the tacos. Hmmm… not much flavor, meat had gristle in it, and the hot salsa was okay. I thought about just throwing the whole thing away after two bites, but didn’t want to offend my new friends. Had a couple more bites, covered it all with a napkin, and got out of dodge. This place may look appealing to many as it did to me but I would recommend just driving on as there are much better taco places within a short distance from here. The things I do for my quest for food. I will add this to the taco list as warning not as a place to check out.
