We are located in Downtown L.A. & can perform all our services on a mobile basis throughout L.A. County & beyond.

We have performed thousands of fingerprints & have a 99.9% acceptance rate of the fingerprints we submit electronically. In the unlikely event any fingerprints that we take are rejected, we will redo them for FREE at our office in downtown L.A.

All our Notary Public Services are provided by certified, licensed, bonded & insured Notaries who have over fifteen (15) years of experience notarizing simple to very complex documents. We accept e-​documents & offer Mobile Notary Public Services.

Our Photos are taken in various sizes with state of the art cameras used by the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security & meet all regulations imposed by any governmental or state agency.

History

Established in 2007.

A1 Live Scan & Notary Services was founded in our former location: 527 W. 7th Street, Suite 400, Los Angeles, CA 90 014 in April 2007.

Since our inception we have met the needs of Downtown L.A.‘s diverse population and recently relocated in January 2010 to our current office location at: 553 South Olive Street, Los Angeles, CA 90 013.

Muthiah N.

Manager

Muthiah has the professional certifications, experience and knowledge to assist cusomers with any of their livescan and ink card fingerprinting, notary public and passport photo needs.

Muthiah and his fingerprint technicians, Ruben Avitia and Ronald Morales are certified by the California Department fo Justice and authorized by the FBI to roll fingerprints. They have completed thousands of fingerprints with an unmatched acceptance rate of 99% on live scan submissions. It is no wonder that A1 is recognized as the industry leader by legal and financial professionals in the greater Los Angeles area.

As a Notary Public, Muthiah has received the highest credentials from the National Notary Association (NNA). He is a certified and background screened Notary signing agent by the NNA, California Department of Justice & the FBI and has earned the coveted credential of a «Trusted Notary» from the NNA. Muthiah also has experienceof over 18 years performing 1000s of flawless notarizations.

Today I was back there to give another chance and I have to admit that service is dramatically improved, total waiting time with calling ahead was less than 5 minutes and service was excellent, I can only guess that my previous experience was a one time failure on their side due to many possible reasons, anyway I’m very happy that I gave them another chance since they are very close to my work and I can use their service without computing and parking hassle with is a huge plus.

Not accommodating at all. Rude and inpatient with questions. I would not recommend their services. They also charge more than comparable companies.
In commenting on the response. I rather not give out my personal identity but I did use your company February 2015 and did also called later on. I was priced $ 45 for a live scan that I have found for $ 20 at other locations. This was an extensive attempt to discredit my opinion.

I would not use A1 — the prints they did were bad quality and not accepted. I got made an appointment to get my finger prints done here on a ink card for substitute teaching. The reason I am giving them 2 stars is that I didn’t have to wait when I showed up for my appointment time. There were only 2 people working in the office. I got the finger prints done and then sent them in — I had to wait 4 weeks for them to get to CBI because that’s how long it takes. After 6 weeks in total I received my print card back with a letter from CBI stating the finger prints were of poor quality and smudged… So I was back to square 1 — out $ 20 for the prints and about $ 10 for the express mailing. At that time I had to move out of state for school and needed to get my finger prints done in Colorado. I went to the Sheriff’s Dept. to get the prints done correctly for $ 10. A1 Live Scan «assists» with the finger printing process and does not give refunds. They told me to come back to California to get them done, why would I? You didn’t do them correctly the first time.

I came here to take quick 4 digital photos and have them sent by email. I was charged $ 25 despite the fact there was no printing involved. I paid it because I was in a rush and had no other option.
The pictures were taken at the hallway! No studio room, no mirror or anything like that! The camera looked super old, I assume it is late 90’s or early 2000’s model.
When I got home and checked the full size pictures on my pc, I found out that they weren’t at the quality level I was expecting. The resolution was low and the flash effect was similar to the one you have when using cellphone flash! I had to go somewhere else and take the same pictures again!
Customer service was ok, the place was clean, service was fast, but PLEASE get a new camera, soft box, mirror and make a studio room to shoot professional pictures!
You guys say that you are professionals and thats why you quoted the other customer $ 400 for the trip to beverly hills to shoot infants passport pictures. Ok fine, your business and these are your prices, but I didn’t see any top of the line photography equipment or studio that justify these prices.
I take off one star for the low quality pictures with bad flash effect, another for the price and one more for being taking photos at the hallway.

I came here to get fingerprinted last week because prices were average and I was in the area. The whole thing was really quick, which was nice. However, at the same time, it was SOOOOOO quick that it was obvious they were rushing because they wanted to get rid of me (I came in right before lunch).
I’ve been fingerprinted 2x before, and it was obvious that they had not taken the best prints, which made me a little nervous. The prints ended up being fine, so overall it was OKAY… but they could defiantly work on their customer service.

Contacted this company to use their mobile passport photo service for twin infant boys in Beverly Hills. $ 395 was their quoted price. Ridiculous. Their explanation for the price being that the distance is far and they possess the expertise to capture infants well. I didn’t realize they were sending Annie Leibovitz…
I found another company that will do it for $ 100. Blatant price gouging by this company.

These guys are DOPE. No lie. I needed some passport photos and came here due to the reviews on Unilocal.So glad I did! The service was professional, prompt, and efficient. I was in & out in less than 10 minutes (from sign in to payment).
The gentleman who took my photo actually took more than one and showed them to me before printing to be sure I was satisfied with my photos. That’s a first! With most places — it’s «take what you get». I really appreciated the fact that I did not have to just accept whatever he threw my way and that I did have an option. SOLD!
Check in on Unilocal and get $ 2 off your photos! Can’t beat it. Highly recommend and would return if I ever needed any additional services. Thanks for the great experience!

So cool news — Matt B. and I bought a townhouse! Yay! With that came a lot of boring paperwork! Boo! Except at least I found a good notary near work! Yay! And once we move into the house we can get a dog! Yay!
I’m in New York for ten days and had to give power of attorney to Matt so we can close while I’m away. Do you know what that is? I sort of maybe know. I didn’t read it too closely. Is that bad? Anyway I had to scramble to get it done before leaving, because apparently it’s important enough to require notarization. Annoyingly, notaries seem to work regular business hours for the most part, and I had a hell of a time finding one. I went to the FedEx in the Bonaventure first, but did you know FedEx no longer has notaries? Lots of learning today.
The concierge at the hotel was very nice and directed me to A1 with a neat little map. I made my way over just before closing at 5:30. The place was small and inconspicuous, but apparently not hidden — there were two people ahead of me in line. A1 also does Livescan, which I could’ve used about a year ago when I was doing my moral character busywork. I met a Loyola 3L in line who was getting printed for just that. It looked pretty painless from where I was sitting.
A1 looked like it was run by one guy named Ruben, and he was very friendly and likable. He attended to us in order — so me last — and he was quick but thorough. I got my form notarized and paid $ 10 (which is what I paid at UPS before they secretly charged me $.50 for a printout that sure sounded complimentary). I paid cash, as credit card is $ 10.50.
As we settled up, Ruben asked how I’d heard of A1. He’d asked the same thing of the other people in line, and I noticed he had a Unilocal sticker on the door. I’d never heard of a notary who depended on word of mouth, but Ruben deserves a good word. It’s never fun to run around having things notarized, but at least A1 is fast, reliable, and friendly.
