ABC Garage Door & Gate

Sam was so nice and order new paint for area of the gate that was rusted due to a water sprinkler. Great customer service!

So I called around one night because I needed a spring replaced on my garage door. I had a few quotes alrdy but when I called abc garage door and gates the guy seemed very nice and assuring he would get it done for me that night and it would be done correctly.
So he came 2 hours later and I talked to him a little asked questions and he seemed to know what he was talking about. I showed him my broken spring and he said he can fix no problem, he then insisted I replace my other spring and I let him know it was replaced less then a year ago. He still pushed to have the other spring replaced. I told him that I didn’t want it replaced because its still new.
He began to take the old spring down and brought over the new spring (it was thicker and longer) I said something to him and he said that mine are no longer available and he has to install that one. I asked him if it will hurt the other spring and he told me not if I buy a new one.
I said we’ll then I don’t want that big one and asked him not to continue. He then said well I will lower the tension down and it won’t be a problem.
When it came to paying he would only take cash from me not telling me before hand. So I had to gather up some cash from in the house.
Two days later I called him because the garage door would come down real hard and slam down, he told me its because my other spring that it needs replaced.
I really started to feel I was being cheated over and that I was being scammed so I called around and asked a few local garage repair company’s about the situation. They all told me that he should have installed the same spring, that no it is not discontinued that it sounded like he was just trying to sell two springs and up the sale.
The also let me know by him installing that bigger spring it is going to make my other spring snaped
I again called abc and told them I need this fixed right away he said he couldn’t be out here for almost a week???
So a week went by and he came back out I let him in and he did some adjustments so the door wouldn’t go down so hard but u could see the new spring was be ding real bad and so was the older spring. I pointed it out and he said he has been doing this a very long time (10 years) and that it will be fine.
He leaves and it is now a month later and I go outside this morning and when I close the garage I hear a loud bang. I go back into the garage and see the other spring has broke.
I called abc garage and gates right away. I told him what has happen and what he said to me is, we’ll you shouldn’t have been cheap and bought two springs, then said you are on your own and then he hung up on me.
I have tried to contact whoever I can from the company and it seems to go to this guys phone, in assuming he is the owner and clearly doesn’t want to make this right.
I sent him a txt asking whats going on letting him know my situation again with the door and he txt back that I should have bought two springs almost as if he knew it would happen and did it on purpose.
IDE say do not call these people they are out to scam you.

Sam did a good job on replacing our garage door opener. He called me before the job to let me know he was on his way. For 2 hours work, he charged $ 150. Other companies I called quoted $ 200.
Just be sure that he agrees beforehand that he will haul away the old garage door opener hardware. He would bring another truck capable of loading the scrap hardware. Otherwise, you’ll have to call 311 for this trash collection.

Responded to my call and did solved the problem with the gate, but be warned, I gave away my Nexus 7 for the less than 1 hour service. Initial service call is $ 65, hourly rate is $ 150! I wish I took my regular cup of coffee and bargained my way out.
