Allstate Insurance: Avo Donoyan

Extremely bad customer service. I was going to get All State Insurance but if I’m going to have to deal with these agency I rather get insurance from another agency.

Fake/​paid reviews, anyone?
Almost all the five-​star reviewers have a history of giving less than 10 reviews.
And all us one-​star reviewers have reviewed DOZENS of businesses.
You figure it out.
Anyway, I echo the sentiments of an earlier reviewer, «Big E S.»:
Mara and Avo are great at taking your money, but terrible about providing any information when asked.
I experienced this MULTIPLE times with them.
My final experience was the last straw.
Some of my premiums suddenly (almost) doubled, so I asked Avo’s team why.
He told me they are unable to provide that information.
I had written, «Are you saying that your agency’s company practice is to sometimes increase customers’ rates by almost double, and not offer any explanation as to why?»
And his reply was, «Agencies are not involved in rates decision. Insurance companies do not give reasons to why premiums are higher sometimes double. The offer is made and sent to the customer, and in response, the customer is either accepts the offer to renew and pay the offered adjusted premium, or not pay the premium and not renew. The rate adjustments have so many factors that companies are not obligated to inform the customers of the detailed filing with the Department of Insurance. I believe the filing is public record if you wish to access it from their website.»
So here was my final email to these morons, that I just sent minutes ago…

You two idiots are no longer my agents.

You’re ABSOLUTELY WRONG.
My new agent gave me the exact reasons.
And several other companies told me reasons too, while I was shopping around for the last few weeks.
Just because YOU don’t know something doesn’t mean the answers don’t exist.
You just need to actually do your job, and find the information your customers are looking for.
Clearly, you don’t know how, or just don’t care.
And this isn’t the first time you company has pulled this kind of thing.
But for me, it’s the last.
I hope you learn from this experience and improve, but your past Unilocal reviews tell me that you haven’t so far.
With that attitude, you’ll be out of business in no time — good work, team.
You two give Allstate a bad name.

My experience at this Allstate was amazing. They provided me with excellent customer service, and where very attentive to my needs. I would recommend this agency to everyone.

My friend referred me to this branch a year ago and I’m so happy she did! I was desperately looking for reliable insurance policies and agency. The staff answered all my questions and have been super friendly. I got a great deal for what I wanted and needed. If you want to feel taken care of and well-​insured, this is the place to go!

Wow what a terrible place with high prices and the worst costumer service from a woman named Mara. Made an appointment, got a call on day of appointment saying she is not in bit someone else will help us. Drove from the valley to Hollywood to an outdated office and some young guy gave us a quote that is higher than any other place we looked at. My advice look else for a better insurance.

I have had multiple policies with Avo Donoyan for many years. I have been extremely happy with their high level of customer service. AVO is a pleasure to deal with — and my representative, MARA HADDAJIAN, has been just great. She is always available to answer any question, and she does a wonderful job of juggling my several policies with varying coverage periods and different billing cycles. I highly recommend this agency.

This Office is a complete joke they are very nice and friendly when you sign up with them but when you need there assistance on a claim they are no help and give you attitude. I have been with them for years and referred numerous people to him but once I had the horrible experience with the owner himself I canceled my policy with Allstate and had all my friend also cancel there policies and move to a different and least expensive insurance company with me. Thank You Avo for taking no good care of us.

I don’t typically give negative reviews but the utter disregard to customer service and unprofessional behavior prompted a review. I had insurance with Avo for several years. Everything will be great as long as you don’t actually make Avo work. When you need assistance from him you will get no help except «call our 800#»
Lack of professionalism poor customer service from Avo himself. If you have to, I would suggest you deal with Maria, she is great!
I had an issue where there with misinformation given by their office and Avo never cared to hear what happened, he simply said that he was offended that I would have a differing point of view.
several years ago he did a similar thing when I had an auto claim where I had a classic car and needed his intervention and all he could do was say call the main office.
If you don’t actually need him to work you will be fine however, when you actually need assistance don’t expect much. If I could give a negative star rating I would.
I strongly reccommend another insurance agent, save yourself the future poor customer experience you are sure to have!
I called Allstate to get assistance directly because I couldn’t from Avo and was unfortunately transfered to him. When Avo answered the phone he was defensive and had absolutlely no interest in hearing his customer legitimate concern. I have never even been offered an appologie for his office’s mistake! Belive me I would much rather be living my life than complaining about this horrible agent.
