Amandine Patisserie Cafe

This post is long overdue, but better late than never! The staff was very helpful and kind in helping me create a nice spread of different options to celebrate a coworkers birthday. Thank you to ALL for the delicious goodies! I absolutely recommend them to everyone.

Really good breakfast. They need better sitting area. Very uncomfortable but love the food and everyone was friendly and attentive!

Quality of the food is not as good as it used to be.

Hmmm, I wonder if they changed the ownership? Their baguette looks and tastes different from what I used to get… Not in a good way.
Also, the service is getting bad… The last two times, they gave me the wrong cakes which I found out when home:(.
I miss the original French baguette and good service!

We came in on a Saturday morning to pick up a few things (coffee, breakfast croissant, and a sandwich) because we were taking a mini road trip.
If you are going to stop by and take something to go, I would definitely not recommend ordering anything on their menu that isn’t already sitting out. The breakfast croissant we ordered took 20 minutes… and they forgot our other sandwich so we had to wait even longer.
It took so long that my meter ran out and I got a parking ticket. I wouldn’t have minded if it was delicious… but it wasn’t.

This place on the outside is really cute and the interior is also pleasant. Unfortunately the system they have to sit down is frustrating. There is no system and no clipboard to sign in your name so you have to wait and stalk other people while they eat. This is on a weekend visit, so maybe during slow times its not a problem.
Also, I found something in my food and addressed it with the wait staff who argued that it wasn’t what I thought it was — although, anything that is found in a food entrée that is not «edible» shouldn’t be argued about. They served me a new bowl of soup however I could feel that they did not feel like they were wanting to accomodate a new bowl.
There are several brunch places and bakeshops in the area that I would unfortunately, probably not go back to Amandine.

Horrible service, coffee came cold, hair in my breakfast. When ask the manager to to correct the issue he refused, very sad this place has a lot of great stuff. The owner needs to make some changes.

The worst service, hair in my husband’s omelets and on top of everything they brought me a wrong coffee and when I asked them to change it, they just warmed up the same coffee and pretending that they just made a new one !!! I’ll never ever go back to this place again !!! Waste of time and money !!!

My favorite lunch spot. Love ordering the Quiche and salad combo. Pastries and cakes are to die for. It gets crowded during lunch and they often screw up my to go orders. Get there early if you want to try the quiche. It usually sells out by 1pm.

One of my favorite places to go for a good selection of bakery items. The peach danish is a must try! Actually, everything is a must try :)

Nice, cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Great selection of attractive pastries.
I had the fruit tarte, which was delicious. The fruit was fresh, perfectly ripe and enclosed in a tasty jelly. The fruit was anchored in a custard with great vanilla taste. All this rested on a mille feuille crust that was perfect. At $ 6 it was premium priced but worth it.
The coffee was strong, full and not bitter. The waiter came by several times offering a top-​off. Even though I arrived shortly before closing time I never felt pressure to leave.

I’ve been coming to Amandine with my English friend for so many years. We always order coffee and share a pastry (specially apple tart). We normally come here once at month get caught up and talk about us specially when I need an advice. We love the coffee which is just perfect, not to strong, not to sweet.
We will continue coming here for the following years! This our special place.

What a great find! Was in the area and needed lunch, prior to an appointment. Found this place thru Unilocal.Found metered parking on a side street and walked over.
Building front is covered in Ivy and there are a few tables outside. The space is narrow along the glass cases of baked goods leading to the register. There’s bar type seating by register (its where I sat so I could look out the window front), but additional tables in the back. Place your order at the register and they bring you your food. Food took a little longer than expected, so I’m not sure I’d stop here if I was in a hurry.
Ordered the Prosciutto Ciabatta and it was Delicious. Its prosciutto, an egg cooked over medium, arugula, tomato & mayo on Ciabatta. Ciabatta tasted freshly baked (they claimed baked fresh daily); the egg was cooked perfect and when you take a bite, the yolk mixed in well with the salty prosciutto. I had intended to only eat half, but ate the WHOLE thing. Sandwich comes with baby mixed greens.
In addition, grabbed a cappuccino to go and it was just right. Would definitely return if in the area.

I found this place through Unilocal’s recommendation (highest rated in LA) and left sooo satisfied! I came in and ordered a Cobb salad and a piece of cheesecake. THE CHEESECAKE WAS TO DIE FOR– not too heavy (like most cheesecakes); so good that I ordered another one to take home :-)
I loved the cute open picnic seating in the back patio. Service was on point – the workers were friendly and checked up on me often, which I appreciate at any restaurant.
Will be back again veeeerrry soon!

The cheese danish was flat out perfect. I dont think I have tried a cheese danish this good ever. The cheese had a thick texture and buttery, rich taste. Every bite of the crust was flaky.
Great coffee and lattes too.

Cute spot to grab a quick bite for brunch. I would call it French inspired rather than French, which isn’t a bad thing, just manage your expectations. You order at the register and are given a number and your food is brought out to you, so it’s more of a casual spot, as demonstrated by the simple décor. I guess the fancy menu and the ambiance/​vibe don’t really go together, but again, not necessarily a bad thing. It’s nice to be able to order quality food without having to pay a large tip.
I ordered the Croque Madame with turkey instead of ham, but it still came with ham. I’m sure they would have corrected it, but I was starving and didn’t want to make my bf wait for them to make a new one as we had places to be. It was huge and a lot healthier than a traditional croque madame (which is slathered in butter and cheese), and more just an open faced egg sandwich — again, not a bad thing — for me it was actually a good thing.

Very cool patisserie/​café located near the 405 on Wilshire Blvd. I only stopped by here for lunch and had a soup special and salad, but everything tasted fresh and delicious. Only drawback is that the service was a little bit slow and it took over 20 minutes to get my food. Quite a bit long for a soup and salad, but it was quite busy, so I let it slide. The cakes, pastries and bread looked amazing, but I never got a chance to try them out. Definitely will next time!

Amandine was surprisingly delicious! I grabbed lunch here with my sister about a month ago and had a pleasant overall experience.
Their Ham and cheese sandwich was amazing, as was their chicken noodle soup. My sister ordered a kale salad which she considers to be a usual for her.
They also have fresh pastries in case you get a sweet craving! I really liked this café it’s a very cute and convenient café offering very delicious and healthy options!

Their almond croissants was delicious from what I remember. I inhaled it in 30 seconds but from what I recall it was amazing. Flaky, buttery, almondy. Could have used more almond paste but I liked the topping they used.
I’ve ordered the mushroom quiche in the past and items okay. Probably wouldn’t order again. Also ordered their fruit tarts which weren’t the greatest either. Just go for the almond croissant and you’ll be golden

The almond croissant is the best I’ve ever had. I also had almond water which was too sweet. Ordered a cappuccino and it was below average and I threw it away… But they get a 4 for the almond croissant!

I love this café. They offer great service and great variety of food. I would recommend them to all my friends and family.

Never noticed this great little find on Wilshire but so glad it was listed on Unilocal!
Fresh quality food at reasonable prices! My S.O. fell in love with their Ratatouille and their bread is made fresh every day. They even have a gluten-​free brownie & chocolate chip cookie! We will definitely be returning to try their breakfast omelettes!

Pros:
— The BEST omelette I’ve ever had. Try adding potatoes to your omelette — so good.
— Most side fruit salads I’ve had are 50% or more filled with melon or honeydew. The fruit salad here actually has more popular fruits! strawberries, bananas, mmmm
— Delicious cappuccinos and lattes
— Food comes out quick
— Amazing pastry and dessert selection
— Very cute interior and exterior
Cons:
— Terribly small parking lot. Be prepared to pay for street parking
— Line to order moves slowly
— Ordering moves slowly. Every cashier I’ve had has struggled to input my order. Almost 5 minutes for one person to order and pay.

I came here for Sunday brunch with a friend. I really liked the décor of the place, if you want you can sit outside in a picnic table or in doors in two to four seat tables. I actually hate going to the Westside because of traffic and lack of parking but surprisingly I found parking! They have a small lot in the back and I guess it was shear luck that lot had open spots.
I had the quiche du jour. a cold brew, and the tarte caramel banana. I really enjoyed my food, the salad that came with the quiche was a great compliment. The quiche was well made and was flavorful. The cold brew was pretty good as well. The tarte was pretty amazing and it was just to my liking of sweetness. Definitely would recommend this place and is on my brunch places to go to in the Westside.

Save your bucks… this patisserie is overpriced and pales in comparison to so many similar cafés. The ham and cheese sandwich is Mediocre City. Not quite sure why it’s served on a pain de mie instead of a baguette. Partly my fault for not realizing it sooner, but when they brought my sandwich out and I noticed it was on the sweet sliced bread, the look of excited anticipation on my face quickly morphed into a disappointed frown.
The croissant I got to go was also pretty MEH. A bit too hard on the ends and the center was more dry than moist. This is a patisserie! If you can’t do croissants, then, well, you can’t do anything.
The only saving grace was that each sandwich comes with a side salad and a handful of cornichon, which I have a soft spot for. But then it just kind of made me wish I was eating the Jambon Buerre sandwich at Republique which is THE BEST HAM SANDWICH EVER, that has shaved cornichon in it. Le sigh.

The food was SO good!
The fresh cream was perfect on top of the french toast.
I feel like you can try anything and not be disappointed.
Can’t wait to go back!

De la fausse «pâtisserie française» mais qui est enfaite plutôt américaine.
Nous avions commandé 3 croques madame et seulement 1 des 3 œufs était correctement cuit (légèrement coulant), les 2 autres étaient trop cuits…
De plus j’ai testé la tarte banane/​caramel et elle avait un goût chimique peu agréable en bouche. Je la déconseille. Sinon l’établissement est correct mais né vaut pas son prix.
