They’ve got good coffee but a weird aversion to closing the door and letting the AC do it’s thing. My friends and I were trying to study there but it was so sweltering we had to leave. It appeared that the good work of the AC was being lost to the open door and the laws of thermodynamics were enforced against us.

Having moved to LA about a year ago, I have been trying out a lot of coffee spots and so far, this place is my favorite! In Los Angeles, the coffee tends to be light and flowery but I prefer strong, dark coffee with more cocoa or caramel and nutty notes. Andante soy lattes are phenomenal and the baristas always take care to do a great job and include some simple latte art on top. The vanilla lattes and the chai lattes are also great. The café’s aesthetic is natural, earthy and artistic that is instantly relaxing when you walk in. Definitely a nice place to hang out and/or do some work. There is always only one barista working at a time, so beware of lines and know that it will take longer than Starbucks(but is well worth the wait). Also the prices are a little steep, but again, certainly worth it because the coffee is stronger than cheaper places.

Andante coffee roasters has been my best coffee place ever since they opened. Especially with Ryan, who had been known as one of the best barista in LA delivered best bean to cup experience. With his ability of pulling a shot of espresso(currently Kamien), the shot has fruity notes, dark chocolate, blueberry flavor and very clean aftertaste. It could be defined as «the god shot.» His cappuccino is so sweet and velvety milk texture taste like whipped cream in your mouth. With their choices of pourover, I personally like Costa Rica. Very floral scent with caramel flavor remains in my mouth.

The coffee at McDonald’s is probably better. I’ve been to several coffee stores and this place doesn’t compare. I mean they basically charge for the extra milk either it be soy etc. it’s just your typical cultural appropriation coffee store in the area.

Great coffee and awesome location and if you’re a writer and need plenty of power for your laptop, they have great outlet access! I love how they arrange their seating too. I travel a bunch and it’s always a challenge to find a location that isn’t too crowded where you can’t find a seat or there are minimal outlets or lack of internet, but this place as it all. I only wish they had a larger selection of «eats». I really like this place, but come soon before it gets too popular and then seats could be hard to find!

Good coffee… typical silverlake place. Overpriced. Good wifi BUT I was instantly turned off by the cultural appropriation of food/drinks. Me: what is a Latino latte?!!— it actually may have been Mexican latte or something. A: it’s coffee with condensed milk. Please leave those drinks to be sold at local mom n pop shops…

This place has potential… however…they desperately need a barista who can actually make a good espresso drink. The Third Wave competition is high, and with Blue Bottle around a quarter mile away, this place seems to only have ‘ambiance’ going for it. However, I am looking for good coffee, not a place to surf the web and at 4 – 5 bucks a coffee bad espresso pulls and overheated milk are criminal! I also witnessed a barista pet a dog, including rubbing the dog mouth and face and then proceed to make my coffee drink without washing his hands. I am not a crazy germaphobe but that is disgusting!!! Hire new baristas and this place will be fine.

Great service and friendly customers to study along with. Coffee is on point just like the other locations like the one in Beverly and downtown. New menu !!! Horchata with almond milk!!! May seem a bit cramped at first but once settle down it seems to be more of a cozy, study environment. Their cold brew is a bit on the strong side for those who like it a bit bold. Over all not a bad place for a quick stop.

Great place. Very mellow. Perfect spot to have a meeting or get some work done. However, 3 star rating because of the staff. If you don’t like your job… GET A NEWONE!

This is my favorite coffee place. My coffee snob bf loves their coffee and they have delicious matcha milk drink for me. Baristas are all so very nice. I love going there with my dog

I was skeptical. I missed the place that was here before. Rained out of my fave work spot because it’s only outdoor seating. I needed somewhere(with inside seating) that I could work on my laptop, and I was surprised that it’s not that easy to find a shop with great coffee and food(I require some type of snack, at least bakery type items) plus wifi and plenty of outlets. I’ve been trying out various indoor spots in the neighborhood and I have to say that this is my favorite.

This is my third time & you know what they say, third time is the charm for a great review!(Okay I just say that) First time I tried their Brazilian pour over(you always want to try their pour overs at any new coffee shop). I had it black because just the aroma & taste was AMAZING! Like a dark chocolate smooth & low on the acidity! Which you can’t go wrong Then I came in the second time for the same pour over, this time I added cream, still good but took way from the solo greatness of the coffee Third time I finally had a vanilla latte(typical white girl drink … But I’m Mexican so. The irony) The consistency of the foam, espresso, and milk was just perfect! I’m pretty pick about the consistency of a coffee drink & I’ve paid the price for it($ 10 for a chai latte but that’s for another review for a different place *rolling eye emojis*) any wayssss so good & great! My pour over was $ 5& latte was $ 4.75 … Feels like a steal but grateful. The décor is awsomeeeeee & the bathroom is pretty neat(as in cool you know 90’s kid term) there are outlets all over the place so great for studying … Oh & they have cold press juices Finally one down side. Parking! They have meter parking but I like to save my quarters for my coffee(my a college student with standards chilllll) so parking up the side street is cool & can be easy but people do live there so they have cars too. It’s LA. but if you haven’t given it a try you should & if you are still reading this .I’m impressed

Easily one of my favorite coffee shops, the area is beautiful and it’s great for groups or solo time. They roast their own coffee and sell it as well. Good, constant selection. I usually order a pour over(what ever the barista tends to drink) or iced latte. Can’t go wrong cold or hot.

Really cute coffee shop on Sunset. The décor is amazing. Very hip with lots of beautiful cacti. I had the cold brew which was delicious and strong. I was a bit surprised this place wasn’t more full when I visited. Must come back.

Love this place! Awesome staff, open and airy space with minimal design, plenty of seating, and of course delicious coffee and tea(green pomegranate iced tea is my usual). Also, they let my corgi hang out and harass customers with her cuteness. Also, chocolate croissants are A+.

This has become my go-to spot to get work done in Echo Park. Sure, the coffee is a little expensive for my tastes, but it’s hand drip and tasty(I’ve had the Brazil and I can drink it easy without cream or sugar). I particularly like their mint matcha tea latte, if coffee is not what you’re in the mood for that afternoon. The music is never too loud, and I’ve spent some very productive afternoons here. My only qualm is they close at 7PM, I would use this as a late-night work spot if they stayed open longer. Free wi-fi!

I only had the Americano at Andante, which I really liked(a little pricy though — $ 3.75, compared to the other coffee shops around Echo Park). I definitely want to try their matcha-mint latte. my friend ordered it and it sounds super delicious! It’s a nice place for some computer work. Clean and friendly staff. And a bench outside, where you can enjoy the late afternoon sun.

I was really bummed when the previous coffee shop in this spot closed, but seeing Andante pop up so quickly gave me hope! There have been a lot of different places in this one location since I moved into the neighborhood, so I was excited to have a more established biz here. Unfortunately, Andante is not what I had hoped it would be for our neck of the woods. There’s nothing inherently bad about it, in fact, the coffee is pretty superb, the baristas are friendly, and there’s free wifi, so they’ve got the holy trinity of coffee shop requirements good to go. Unlike previous tenants, however, Andante feels sterile and cold — I don’t know if I’m in the minority, but I want my coffee shops to feel warm and welcoming. There’s something about Andante’s environment that makes me want to pop in and out, and not stay a while. I also wish they had kept the kitchen to serve food, but as of now, they are strictly coffee/tea/juice and pastries baked offsite(as far as I know). The thing that saddened me the most was when they painted a huge logo on the Mohawk side of their mural — it just seems a little like uncomfortable branding in a neighborhood — I know gentrification has come to Echo Park(and I’m part of it), but it would’ve been cool to restore the mural that was there previously. This probably comes off like a bitter, whiny review, but I just want a coffee shop I can walk to from my house that feels like it’s part of the community. I’m serious — there is good coffee here, and it has potential to be the neighborhood’s go-to spot. My hope is that if more locals show up, it’ll become a warmer environment, and that would at least make me a regular!
