My wife and I have been coming here for years for our cat supplies and food. Hollis and Kevin are THE best. Always met with a smile … and a cookie! Knowledgable, friendly, always courteous, and professional. they know their stuff! We always look forward to our visit there. The mom and pop shops are becoming a thing of the past, and its a shame. Glad to have this one to come to, thats a fact! Cant recommend this place enough!

best place for pet food toys and treats… great service on a scale from 1 to 5 i give them a 10… love you guy.

The best pet store in LA! We’ve been shopping at Animal Crackers for years. They are most informative about products and they really care for the animals.

This is a great shop. They have been here for so many years and they also do an awesome job at the Non-​Anesthetic dental clinics they hold once a month.
ITs vet-​supervised and low cost. Highly recommended!

The two owners of this store are absolutely amazing and so full of knowledge and advice. We brought my friend’s newly adopted dog to pick out some new food and treats and they helped us not only with type of food/​brand but also the quantity and guidance on how to ensure he ate it. They have a great assortment of products that are all so well priced (and even threw in a free bone for us)!
Absolutely will be back!

Simply put, this shop has damn near every brand of cat and dog food, in more varieties (flavors) than I’ve seen anywhere else. I immediately found what I was looking for and the owner was very friendly. She said she intentionally buys a very wide variety of items, but in smaller quantities. This way they keep a larger variety of brands and they stay fresher than buying in bulk.
I have a hard time finding the cat food brands that my little guy prefers. Seriously, he turns his nose up at some brands. And I intentionally only buy quality brands with higher % of crude protein. My cat is older and a little heavier, so I don’t mind spending a little extra. Come on, a bag of expensive cat food casts as much as three cocktails, only the food lasts an entire month ;)
I don’t like giving my money to Petco or big chain stores, so I kind of put myself in this tough situation. Many locally owned pet supplies shops only carry a very limited selection of brands, due to space and costs. I’m very glad I came in and found this place!
They also have their own parking lot, and I saw they offer shots and anesthesia-​free teeth cleaning.

I cannot say enough great things about Hollis, the man who works there (I don’t know his name) and Animal Crackers. My vet recommended I go there to discuss food options with Hollis for my kitten who has major digestive issues. I have been in twice. The first time Hollis was not there, but the man who works there was super super nice and knowledgable. The second time I did get to speak with Hollis. Hollis listened very patiently to all of the information I gave her. She cares tremendously, and is extremely knowledgeable. They have the best selection of the best food for your pet. Hollis gave me a bunch of samples to try with my kitten. Animal Crackers is now my pet food store forever. Super nice, knowledgeable, caring, and they have everything you could want.

Much better than the big box pet stores. This place has been open for a long time, and it seems to have the loyal customers one can only earn through years of quality.
Not only are they one of the only outlets to stock our dog’s favorite food consistently, they are informative, helpful, and genuinely pleased to make customers feel welcome.
Happy this place still exists and happier to be able to give my business to a local shop.

When I lament about moving away from the West Side of town, Animal Crackers is one of the few reasons why. Located just a few blocks from my old apartment, in a great area near the corner of Fairfax and Beverly, Animal Crackers boasts one of the best Mom and Pop Pet Supplies around town. From Cats, to Dogs, Bunnies and other critters — little treats to dry food, carriers, kennels, cat litter and more — they always had exactly what I needed, at an affordable price and with incredible service. Everyone who works at Animal Crackers has an endearing smile on their face and a penchant for politeness — they’re sure to help you with any and all animal related queries.

I was desperately looking for food for my baby bunny and after looking in lots and lots of chain stores, they had nothing. So I called the company that makes the food and they told me about this wonderful place. We met Hollis and she’s just an amazing kind human being. We loved the service she provided and how welcome she made us feel. Not to mention her lovely white doggy ;) Plus we found out she sells everything my pets need, from our dogs to our bunny. We just love that we found this hidden place and I will never go back to Petco!

I discovered this place a few blocks from my apartment and have since become a regular for all my fancy cat food needs, mostly in part to how sweet the owners are keeps me coming back. They always remember me, are super friendly and make me happy to support a local small business rather than petco. When I asked for a recommendation for a new dry cat food (mine is extremely picky) they gave me a bag of about 10 free samples to see which one he liked best! This place is the best and I will definitely continue to get all my pet needs here.

This review is for the vaccination clinics they hold. I’ve been here twice now and they are really so great! The doctors are very sweet to my pups and made them feel comfortable giving them treats and affection. Any little bit helps when they are getting a shot!
Prices are fair and reasonable and the condition and cleanliness of the store is good.
Staff is helpful and friendly as well.

This is the best pet store in Los Angeles, hands down. The owner, Holis, is so educated and will be able to advise you on exactly what you should feed your pet. You can’t compare this kind of service and knowledge to a young kid that works at a chain store. Animal Crackers has everything you could possibly need for your pet and is of the highest quality. Love this store for my dogs!

Outstanding — is all I can say. I ran out of food for my dog and went to research the more «boutique» brands that Animal Crackers carries — many different ones than major retailers. The attendants asked me so many questions about meats, grains, what I was currently feeding my dog — and were extremely knowledgeable about food choices or changes.
They taught me how to «sample» new foods to my dog to see which one she would like the best, and made fast friends with my dog as well. She is 3 years old, still very much a pup, and the team of Animal Crackers knew just how to help.

I knew that dog food was like everything else, you get what you pay for. While it saves you money to buy the cheap, off brand dog food (or whatever your animal may be) your dog is the one that suffers. You may not realize by their behavior but in the long run it will take a toll on their body. Just like humans scarfing down fast food will suffer health consequences, dogs will if they eat off brand food all of the time.
An employee at Animal Crackers helped me understand this and educated me on how to buy dog foods for my dog. She recommended a few different foods that fit my budget but were good for my dog. My dog loves what I’ve been buying her and seems to have more energy, is thinner and her coat is a lot shinier.
Animal Crackers has a great selection of quality foods, excellent employees and low prices. The only place I shop for my pet anymore.

Very mom and pop feel. They’re happy to answer any and all questions, and they always have cookies out for both owners and their pets! It’s quaint, yet they carry every pet supply imaginable.

I am a pet groomer who likes to support the local mom & pop shops! However, I have found that so many lack the things or products I need them to carry, such as… my specific specialty brand of pet food… or…a great selection of slicker brushes that I all too often have to send my clients down the street to various corporate chains in order to purchase. But… I have found an AMAZING little store… that carries several brands of the types of brushes I recommend to my clients… AND can order a larger sized bag of dog food (the brand and formula that my I purchase for my fur kids which they already carry) in a size, custom ordered just for me! Hollis, the lovely owner, is a pleasure to talk to and can answer any of your pet-​related questions, with ease, expertise, and enthusiasm!

I moved away from my usual pet food store, and I tried this place one day when I didn’t have time to drive back to my old place.
WHAT A MISTAKE. I went in twice and bought cat food, only to realize the second time that they woman had grossly OVERCHARGED me. In fact, I was charged double what they total should have been. When I went in, the guy acknowledged the mistake but tried to pressure me into taking store credit. NO DUDE: CLEARLY IM NOT COMING BACK AFTER YOU GUYS CHARGED ME DOUBLE!
Im going back to Pet Express on La Cienega and Pico. Their products are cheaper anyways.

This store is near my work and my coworker walks here every day to pet their resident doggie, Dolly. It carries a really good selection of high-​end pet food, and their prices are reasonable. It’s mildly more expensive (like a buck or two) than big box stores but you’re supporting an independent, locally owned business, and for me, the convenience of picking up what I need on my afternoon break is worth an extra dollar.
More important than price though, the staff is super friendly and kind, and they are willing to order items for you if you just ask. They even carry stuff for my bunnies (Oxbow pellets and hay), which is sometimes difficult to find elsewhere. The selection of Wellness brand wet food for my cats was great — I think they had every flavor!

Not too fancy a place, but they still have *somewhat* fancy prices…
Healthy selection of top quality foods and a few decent toys and treats (bully sticks for $ 5.99!).
It is comparable to «For Pets Only», only a bit smaller & cleaner. I am impressed with the number of quality foods they carry for being such a small store.
They are one of the few pet supply stores in the LA area that carry By Nature Organics cat food, as well as Flint River Ranch Dog food.
They seem pretty busy with grooming appointments, but they offered helpful, informative service.
My kitty friends used to come here for low cost pet vaccinations, and they were pretty nice. There is a parking lot, which is a plus. Enter on Laurel, exit on Beverly. It’s right across the street from Swingers.
