Asian Pacific Health Care Venture

I have been here 3 times already. I know I know, I’m confused too. How did I end up going to an Asian Pacific healthcare center? Well the answer to that is simple: I switched from a PPO to an HMO. Haha.
Anywho my first experience was wonderful. My doctor is Lena Al-​Sharaf DO and she is knowledgeable, engaging and has a gentle touch. On my most recent visit though, she did seem a bit rushed. I wish she would have taken a little more time to engage me, but overall I still really like her and she is what keeps me coming here.
My biggest problem is with the staff. They are really inconsistent with reminder calls. Sometimes they’ll call you to confirm an appointment and sometimes they won’t. Also, there are two nurses assistants that work in the lab-​type room where they give vaccinations and make blood draws. These two employees are kind of unprofessional, as they were chit-​chatting quite a lot and switching from English to Spanish mid conversation. It just made me feel uneasy, especially since I was getting blood taken. I would rather have someone’s full attention while they are performing anything with a needle.
I called the office manager to complain about these two employees and she was extremely nice and apologetic.
Also, I have been late twice and both times the staff were understanding and didn’t seem to care.
So I am a little wishy-​washy on my feelings of this doctor’s office. I am glad the office manager apologized for the employee’s unprofessional behavior. I just hope it doesn’t happen again!
