Atwater Screen & Glass Shop

This shop looks very professional and may be one stop shop for all your window and screen needs. The reason for the two stars is the customer service skills. Lulu, if that’s how you would spell her name, is very rude and condescending. Brought my screen back because it was the incorrect size. She quickly got very defensive and gave me, the client, the benefit of doubt. Quick note the measurements that the employee put on the paper were incorrect to begin with. I gave the measurements that I measured on the window and she said «it’s not too big it’s too small, I said ok, the fact is it doesn’t fit. I told her would it be taken care of, she said she doesn’t know, she needs to talk to the manager. I’m sorry so what you’re telling me is that you may call me back to tell me you’re not going to fix it? Ok, I didn’t want to argue and left the location. When I got home I realized I left the shop so irritated, I forgot to get a receipt. So I called the shop back, Lulu, picks up. I ask Lulu if I need a receipt since she didn’t give me one. She said you took the white copy, I said «no, you kept both copies, and I know that because they were taped on to your glass counter.» I couldn’t have gotten the recipe since my shorts don’t have pockets and I checked my car and nothing is there. Well when I told her this she chuckled as if to poke fun. She replied saying that it won’t be an issue since she remembers who it is. I said, that’s fine, but how do I prove I dropped it off and prove pick up, especially when you’re not there. She chuckled again and said, I’ll let whoever is here know. Point of this review, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I know this place is a family establishment and had respect for it because of that, but if this is what is going to be greeting and dispatching the clients, wow the shop may quickly lose a lot of business. Note to a young employee/​family member: if you feel you’re not cut out for the position, don’t waste your time doing it. Grow more, learn and gain some maturity and then comeback for these type of positions. Good day.

I have been doing business with Atwater Glass for a very long time. They are the only place I go for this kind of stuff. Good service and fast turnaround time.

Today was my fourth time getting glass from these guys over a period of several years. They are great to deal with! They are helpful, honest and quick. I’ve purchased custom thick cut glass with rounded edges for a table as well as mirrors and regular window glass.
My husband swatted a fly and broke a triangular peice of glass in our front window. I no longer live in the area near Atwater, yet my neighborhood guys quoted me waaay over what he glass was worth. I didnt think twice about goinh back to Atwater Screen and Glass. They took care of me in 5 minutes and I paid even less than what I expected! Thank you AS&G!

They replaced my single light, dual glass in an exterior door. I like these guys. Luis & Ramon did the work. They were friendly and competent. It looks good and the price is good too. They came when expected and were professional in every way. I will use them again as needed. I have never been to their store.

I like the fact that they come to your house and take screens away to be fixed. Really convenient!

I needed screens made for my windows and a sliding door re-​screened. Some of the windows I needed screens for opened out and needed specially-​made screens with wickets. I was hesitant to call because of some of the reviews here, but my neighbors on Next Door highly recommend them. I called and they came out the same day to do the measurements. The guy who came was professional and nice. The screens were ready when they said they would be and the man they sent out to install them was great. We had a small misunderstanding about the material of some of the screens, but this was handled quickly and professionally. The screens are really great and fit the windows perfectly. The special wicket-​windows are made very well. I can easily recommend them.

This place sucks They are very rude and lack have any customer service skills.
I had called to make sure they were open on a Saturday which they were. I told them I was on my way and would be there 10 min. before their closing time
I got thee exactly five minutes before and they had magically all gone home early as not to take on a new customer and work a few minutes extra.
I had a couple of screen doors that needed to be redone. I took it in was told would be 4days before they compete the job. When I went to pick it up I was told they were not ready since they were waiting to get a handle. Went back after another 3 – 4 days still no handle apparently they forgot to order. long story short I got my doors after 15 days with mismatched handles. I had to ask them for a courtesy discount because of their screw ups and my many trips there, They were very blaze about and took 10 $ off

great prices and service. my go to for glass

I thought the price was fair and the staff was friendly. Had Vince come to measure the window openings and ordered premium vinyl windows. A week later, they arrived. Vince was not here for the installation. Two guys were from his shop. That’s fine. They were professional and friendly. But the windows were too small. There was no question, the windows did not fit the frames. The interior window frame is a finished frame that he knew would be maintained as is. But there was a clear ¼″ width of open space on the width of both windows and they did not even seal off the opening. The men kept measuring the space and checking their paperwork and the windows. WRONG MEASUREMENT. They called Vince. They told me I had to put in drywall to cover the space. I said, they’re custom windows going in to a finished window frame. There’s no drywall addition. He ordered the wrong size. They had to go back to the shop to get plywood to close off the window openings and now it looks like the house has been boarded up after a hurricane. You would expect a shop owner to offer discounted/​free installation, to own up to ordering the wrong size himself, and apologize for putting the remodel behind another week. But he didn’t call me til the following Tuesday (Monday was NOT a holiday) and then had the audacity to say he had not yet re-​ordered the windows but would re-​order windows with the understanding that he refused to do the installation and that his measurements had been accurate the first time. Unreal. Asked for my deposit back and am now behind schedule with a new renter moving in. Honest truth. This is what happened. If you have a standard window, I think its probably no problem. But my custom sized windows are now just boards screwed in the openings where the old windows were & I’m back at square one bidding the installation with other companies.
