Atwater Union 76

Can’t believe I’m reviewing a gas station, but this place is creepy AF if you’re a lady. I had been avoiding it because of a prior creepy experience three YEARS ago, but really needed gas the other day. Went in and had another bizarre interaction. Just avoid this place at all costs, unless you feel like getting weird comments about your looks while you’re buying gas.

do not buy propane here! Their Minimum charge per tank assumes that it is empty when you bring it… in other words, if it is ½ full, you still pay for full tank. They do not charge you «by the gallon» but, by the «tank full». So… DO NOT BRING YOUR propane tanks here unless you are 100% sure they are completely empty.

Is it just me? I felt like this place had a ghetto feel.
I needed to use the restroom and it was ghetto. It was busy when I got here and when I tried turning the knob, I get a growl.
Anyway, glad I didn’t stay long. Bought a lotto ticket so I wouldn’t get a bark for not being a customer.

Gas station manager is so rude! The gas is cheap when u pay cash the store is clean but the owner is so rude!

I have been a resident of Atwater Village since 2003. And I have to tell you, that up until today Friday 12÷2÷2011 I have been a happy customer, and have always enjoyed going to this 76 Gas Station again, and again. From where I live, it was so convenient, and the people that have ran it over the years were kind, courteous, and helpful, and always so friendly.
And I have to mention the prices. The cash only prices was always so competitive and cheap that I have made it my exclusive gas station for all my three vehicles. I have a Lexus IS, Toyota Camry, and an ’85 Corolla.
I mostly remember an older middle eastern gentlemen, and an older asian gentlemen running this station.
Recently however, I’ve started to see a younger middle eastern kid running it. And he’s running it WAY BELOW the usual standard that I have become accustomed to.
He’s condescending, rude, and appears to not give a crap about the customers that I had witnessed (including myself) that had purchased gasoline from this guy.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way about this new kid running this once awesome atwater village 76 gas station. And my experience with him today pretty much stamped his basic lack of knowledge regarding good customer service.
Note that I said «good» not «great» customer service. Because if this guy even achieves the «good» standard of customer service (which I highly doubt) I’ll be shocked.
Just to give you an idea of what this idiot did to piss me off, and made me write this unfortunate review of a once awesome gas station of mine here we go:
I wanted to fill up for $ 24 on pump 1 so I gave him a $ 20 bill, $ 1 bill, and $ 3 (in quarters) I told him please excuse the quarters it was a left over from laundry. And this is how this young middle eastern boy genius retorted back to me
«Look bro, just give me the money, it’s not my problem what you do with your money, I’m not interested in your story, and I don’t care!»
After I heard him, I had to take a second to let it sink in. Afterwards, as I didn’t want to sink to his putrid level of human filth, I simply said to him to just give me my money back, and that I will never go back to this Gas Station again. Thank you & God bless.
What a shame to let an incompetent arrogant retard, run a once well-​respected gas station.

I sometimes make a pitstop here late at night. Gotta say their service is one of top notch!

This place is cheap, good gas, they have all the drinks and snacks… including the Nutella and cracker sticks snack pack that i love so much.

My credit card number was stolen from this gas station this week — only the second time I had visited this station. I know it was here because I very rarely use the card and after I swiped it at the pump, the keypad wouldn’t accept my entry (which was VERY suspicious), so I couldn’t pump the gas, but they had gotten my number. Don’t buy gas from here.
