As a multifaceted artist, Audition Loft founder Derek Magyar has seamlessly shifted from actor to director, writer to producer and student to teacher.

Business Owner

Founder Derek Magyar graced the big screen and garnered critical praise for his candid portrayal of «X» in 2006 film «Boy Culture, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Magyar’s directorial debut «Flying Lessons» starred academy award nominee Hal Holbrook and Academy Award winner Christine Lahti, along with Cary Elwes and Maggie Grace. Critics hailed Magyar as «represent[ing] the return of genuine filmmaking, a type of movie making that is unfazed by bureaucratic studio agendas and is fully invested in creating emotionally moving art.»
