Description

Specialties

Baum-kuchen is a wife and husband team that is a part studio, part shop and part lifestyle! We are passionate about living life and excited to share with you everything extraordinary that inspires everyday lifestyles.

The approach to Baum-kuchen lifestyle comes from our unique background of German Bauhaus and Japanese wabi-sabi marrying together harmoniously. Products we create and curate at our studio are aesthetically beautiful, emotionally and physically durable… and very very functional.

Our opening hours change based on events and season. Please visit our Calendar Page on our website for up-to-date opening hours.

History

Established in 2010.

We have been online boutique brand since 2010. We are thrilled to have our first brick and mortar location in Glassell Park (opened in September 2013)!

Meet the Manager

Wakako T.

Manager

Wakako is the Japanese Wabi-sabi half of the partnership. Her role is to breathe life and stories into Baum-kuchen. Before starting Baum-kuchen in 2010 she had worked on design and trend projects for small design consultancies to giant corporations and taught design research at a local design school. She has a keen eye on what is on the horizon and a tender heart in understanding what makes people smile. She calls herself a «Cheerleader of Life» as she loves sharing her passions in life with everyone she loves and cares about. Wakako believes that we will never work a day in our lives if we can pursue happiness through what we do.
