History

Established in 2006.

Larissa Block studied photography at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara and graduated in 2003. She moved to New York to assist, studio manage and digital tech to learn the business of photography in a hands-​on environment. In 2005, Larissa moved to Los Angeles where she began her first photography business, focusing on celebrity portrait photography and musicians for magazines such as People, Billboard, OK!, Remix and Improper Bostonian. In 2006, she began Beauties And Babies Photography as a side business for friends, family and piers. As the business grew and she became a wife and mother, Larissa began focusing solely on families, kids and newborn babies.

Larissa became a mom in 2010 and instantly she saw her photography in a new light. Realizing that children grow and change so quickly through their phases of childhood, she wanted to really capture the real raw emotion of being a parent and capturing the many sides of being a child. Larissa strives to capture love, laughter, silliness, energy and life in every shoot. With newborns, she captures those tiny sleepy newborn babies in a way that showcases their beauty and innocence, as well as the love that is felt by their family. Larissa is known for her patience and loves capturing special moments that last a lifetime.
