Love this place!!! I’ve been getting my hair done here since I moved to LA. It’s always scary to find a new hair place when your from out of state. Prices are affordable, and the girls know what they’re doing!!! Erica does my hair, and that girl is a master!!! Highly recommend you get your done here. Even if it’s for a trim, style, or hair color!

I am a makeup artist and hair stylist myself and have very high standards for beauty.
The first time I came here, it was for an emergency, I was going to be on tv and needed to get my roots done ASAP. My regular guy was out of town but he recommended Beauty Box.
They were able to squeeze me in the same day. Vanessa, the owner took such good care of me, I decided to come back for another root tough up and a hair cut. She does a fantastic job and is really sweet and fun to talk to.
The salon is really neat and has an industrial-​modern feel, there are interesting and pretty things to notice while you sit in the chair. I’m glad I found this little gem. j

What a great spot! Located in the heart of Echo Park, Beauty Box is the perfect refuge to relax and beautify yourself at the same time! I was in dire need of a haircut and made an appointment with Dina. She was very kind and attentive, and listened as I described my hair and my daily routine. She gave me exactly the cut I wanted! The place is very cute; I would describe the décor as eco-​hipster-​urban-​edgy-​cabin-​fresh ! They also do nails in addition to hair, and I saw one lady getting her nails done while her hair dye was setting — efficient salon trip I’d say! Everyone in the salon was very nice, and they even offer you something to drink when you arrive. The pricing is fair and cheaper that a lot of salons you will find downtown. Highly recommended for people of all ages and styles!

Very good with my hair, good coloring, layers, then again I just ask for something real simple — I never get highlights. I also get my nails done here and its ok for the price. They take a little bit longer to do nails and its not the same massage your would get from a nail salon. Love this place but their parking really sucks, they only have one space. Everything is metered and although they really aren’t to blame because of other businesses in the same small strip — their patrons take other businesses parking spaces. They really need to do something about the parking — maybe get with another nearby lot so that customers can readily park and make it to their appointment on time and not worry about having to get a ticket. Everything is pricey enough — you don’t need to add a $ 63 parking ticket on top of it.

I have been going to Karina for years. I followed her from a salon in Chino Hills over to Beauty Box. She is THAT good. Go see her. You won’t regret it.

Had a fantastic time at Beauty Box. I’ve never been able to find a good hair stylist in LA, but Dina changed that completely. I came into the salon wanting a different style, and she was totally willing to work with me to find something just right. I have gotten so many compliments on my new short hair, and I’m so happy with it. Dina was so kind and talented — I’ll be back!

Was in town and needed a pedicure for my winter toes, so looked up a spot nearby and stopped into the Beauty Box. Very cute salon with clean manicure and pedicure stations, and tasteful, modern décor. Light and bright!
Got a wonderfully relaxing and perfectly painted pedicure. They have alternative polishes like Vinylux and Shellac. Pedis start at $ 38 and up, but they have discounts if you get a mani/​pedi combo. Make an appointment, because their website says appointment only. I had no problem getting a same day appointment, though.
Only downside is, the parking blows! The lot is tiny and spaces are alloted to each shop. Beauty Box only appears to have one space. Street parking is pretty crowded on Sunset.

I was long overdue for a haircut and looking to try a new place and happily came across Beauty Box in Echo Park. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment at 3:30 p.m., was warmly greeted by the staff and didn’t have to wait. My new hairstylist, Lydia, was friendly, asked several questions to determine the right cut for my lifestyle and hair type and gave some expert suggestions to make my hair looks its best.
She told me about the assorted products she used on my hair– they carry a beautifully packaged, natural brand called R&Co– then deftly cut soft layers and cleaned up the ends. I love that the cut is just what I wanted and will be easy to maintain. The salon also does nails, but is well-​ventilated and I didn’t smell even a hint of polish or chemical fumes during my visit.
Free parking was easy to find just up the street right on Sunset Blvd. and they have a small lot in the strip mall where they are located. My haircut & style, plus R&Co Prep Spray purchase (around $ 24 I think) totaled around $ 95.

This was my first time going to this salon. It was very cute and the staff was nice and attentive enough. I’m just not sold that they knew how to cut my curly hair. I told my hairdresser about the last bad haircut I had the last time I went to a new salon and she did the EXACT SAME THING. I told her that I wanted long layers and the last bad cut I had involved the hairdresser quickly & nonchalantly chopping the top layer MUCH, MUCH SHORTER than the rest of my hair. As most girls with curly hair have experienced, when you cut your hair shorter, it loses its weight and dries a lot shorter than what it looks like wet. So not only is my top layer almost 4 inches shorter than the layer below it, but it’s a different type of curl because there’s no weight to it. It looks crazy if I don’t straighten it. Which is ironic because I told her I wanted to stop straightening my hair so much and that’s why I wanted to keep some length…
I understand not everyone can cut curly hair well, but I will not be going back to Beauty Box. The haircut was also more expensive than the price listed. The hairdresser left in a regular conditioner for five minutes after shampooing and charged almost $ 20 more without asking me if I wanted to pay for it. It was a fun surprise when I went to pay at the front desk. I’ve paid $ 15 for actual glossing treatments that actually work before and this was NOT that. Disappointing to say the least.

KARINA has been cutting my hair for a while now and I love how easily I can style it.
I was finally ready for color and after a long talk (I was nervous) she brought out pictures and color samples and we agreed on something right for my skin tone. I’m so glad I took the leap! I get so many compliments and it looks so natural!!! I love KARINA!

Have been going for hair and shellac pedis for 2 years and ALWAYS leave completely satisfied. Got some color for the first time in years with Karina and absolutely love it.

I cut my hair today at Beauty Box. I waited three years to cut my long curly locks. After two recommendations to go to the beauty Box I booked my appointment with Deena. The salon is a hidden gem in Echo Park, it’s very cute and modern. I booked my appointment at four o’clock. I arrived early to avoid being late and loosing my spot. FYI look for parking outside because the parking area inside the plaza has limited parking spaces for the salon. The staff were super friendly, and I was offered water, tea, or coffee while I waited. I cut twelve inches of hair and Deena did an awesome job with my hair. The results were amazing! I’m very happy with my new hair cut. I can’t wait to go back!

The ladies of Beauty Box of Echo Park are truly amazing. Lidia, Erika and Gina have worked on me and they are great. For the past 7 years, I have visited the salon at least once a month for my hair and nail needs. :)

KARINA has been cutting my hair for the few years and every time is a fantastic job. With her help, I have healthier, fuller, hair. The whole experience is always nice and I feel totally relaxed, too! I recommend KARINA – I don’t know what I would do without her.

But beauty box has really kept me coming back, my nails were so gorgeous the first time I got them done after that I was hooked! They are always done to my liking!
Everyone is always polite and it’s just nice to go somewhere and relax for a little spa time… just love it!

First plus was waking in and being greeted with smiles and coffee, water, or tea offerings. I took the English breakfast tea (my fav)
We’re here for a beauty makeover from Homeboy Industries.. today we get Hair color. Wash. Cut. And style. and make up. Oh and waxing. Karina worked on me and did beautiful job. These girls are awesome.. everyone in my group looks amazing I never have been into make up and hair styles but this was a great experience for me. Thanks ladies.

Love this place! I needed to find a new stylist closer to where I live. Came to this place as a recommendation from my cousin. Went to see Lydia and she’s awesome! My hair was super dry and brittle at the ends (from a perm I did a year ago). I was in desperate need of a fresh new cut. She helped my hair to looks fresh and healthy again! Great, friendly and professional service! I’m definitely coming back!

The high ratings of this place made me choose it over other local nail salons.
I’m high maintenance when it comes to my food, hair, and nails.
I have long natural nails and baby them the best I can.
I’ll just list the pros and cons.
Pros:
— They seem to have same day availability. I made an appointment and called to see if anything opened up for the same day, and there was an opening.
— The salon is clean.
— The staff are friendly and personable. They also all speak English.
— They have a great selection of Shellac products.
— They have a lot of CND products in general for your manicure/​pedicure.
— They have displays of design ideas for your Shellac experience.
— They offer refreshments.
— They offer to fix their mistakes for free.
Cons:
— They push the Shellac
— The Shellac designs are executed beautiful at first, then flaws emerge (pigments dissappear from edges two days later somehow).
— Shellac application doesn’t stay/​has issues. After two days one nail started to peel and another had a bubble (see photos uploaded for reference). I didn’t do dishes or any strenuous activities.
— Normal polish application is iffy and they seem unprepared for it (no normal dryers besides uv ones).
— My cuticle was nicked and went unmentioned even when I went back for the fix and normal polish.
— I was told about lumps appearing in long nails while having lumpy polish work applied. I know my nails are smooth with the exception of a gel fix on one.
Overall the ladies here seem like sweethearts and are probably really great with hair, and short nails.
But for long natural nails, I’m okay continuing to shop around for LA nail salons.
$ 47 was just a bit too steep for what my nails went through.
