History

Established in 2012.

Ruth began as a hobbyist treatment-​free beekeeper. She has done many live removals of hives and relocated them throughout Los Angeles over the past few years. Soon people who simply wanted to own a hive asked her to place and maintain bees on their properties, and this is what Bee Capture continues to do now. Ruth also does education, mentorships and backyard hive maintenance training for those who want to become beekeepers themselves.

Bees like the water meter box on the parkway in front of my house. I have had hives removed in the past from «relocation» companies, but I was less than pleased with their methods, so I tried Bee Capture after seeing the reviews. I am so glad I did. Ruth sent Susan as she lives in my area, and I learned so much as she explained what she was doing and why. It was fascinating! And she was so gentle with the honeycomb and the bees. Hopefully my little hive has been adopted and are all happy and safe. I cannot recommend Bee Capture more highly!

When we had a bee swarm in a small tree in the front parkway, we called Bee Capture (referred by a friend) and they came out right away and took the swarm away very gently and transferred it to another colony. This company is run very well by conscientious, extremely knowledgeable and helpful bee people. When we are losing so many bees to pesticides, disease and loss of habitat, these guys do a lot to keep our flowers and fruits pollinated. I’m so happy for the bees that get captured by these excellent people!

I had a bee issue in front of my door. And I called Bee capture they came out immeditaly. There was no hive so they spray replennent and covered the holes where the bees were scouting to make a new home.
They were professional and very knowledgable about bee’s and they love bee’s so they are humane in the process of capturing and taking care of the problem

Ruth was fantastic. She showed up when expected, called each time to let me know she was on the way. She did exactly what she told me she was going to do at the quoted price. She was very knowledgeable about bees and told me where they would probably be sent when they had moved into the new hive and out of my retaining wall.
When she came to pick up the bees she patched the wall and told be to call if I saw any sign of activity. I did call her a few days later because I had some wasps and she stopped by to help at no cost. Her process was less destructive and about half the price I was quoted by other companies who wanted to cut out part of my retaining wall to remove the hive. I would highly recommend her.
