Came across this place at the farmer’s market on Wilshire Blvd on a Wednesday. Sounded interesting enough to try. For pork lovers, here’s one more reason to eat it. Cooked and flavored to perfection. Excellent mixed greens for accompaniment. Will be back for more and shall definitely try other offerings.

This review is long overdue. We went to the Farmer’s Market to have lunch and came across this shop. The girl working was extremely friendly and gave us samples to try the different variations of pork belly. My girlfriend ordered the bowl, which included pork belly over rice, salad, and a fried egg. I ordered the sandwich, which came with a side of duck fat fries. The pork belly was cooked to perfection. The pork belly is slow braised and then grilled so that the outside is slightly crispy and the inside is tender and juicy. Excellent combination. The duck fat fries were also impeccable, fried to perfection. The bowl was also very good. The fried egg was a nice touch. The portions for both were large. Come hungry! Overall, this place was an amazing choice for lunch. I will definitely be on the look out for it when I visit next time. The prices were cheap and the customer service was excellent. I’ll have to go back and try other items on the menu!

Holy SH***. Went to the farmer’s market just for produce and passed by this place, they were giving out samples and Dang I’M A FAN!!! The crispy garlic and braised ginger bellies are outstanding! The flavor was so darn good. The Duck Fat Fries looked and sounded very interesting too. Definitely going to try them out next week.

Jumping on the pan-Asian bowl food trend, you can find this place during lunch at the Wednesday Pershing Square farmer’s market. As a new business, this place has potential, but still has not reached the level of some of the more established places. The braised pork belly was very tasty, but at 9 dollars a bowl, the serving size left a lot to be desired as it was mostly rice with very little meat and salad. Hopefully as this place grows, there will be a balance between quality and value.

If you want a quick asian-like lunch, come here for a fusion sensation! Their star is the pork belly, which is ginger-braised or crispy fried. I liked both, a lot, but was in the mood for the crunch of the fried one. Their sliders are a good size, and come with fries. I opted for the«healthier» salad topped with egg and pork belly. They also had rice bowls, and some a la carte items. All lunch combos hover around $ 9 – 10 and include a drink. Super nice staff and food was very tasty! Open during the Wednesday Farmer’s Market in Pershing Square.

Belly Flop is a food stall at the Wednesday afternoon Pershing Square farmer’s market. They are the second stall in if you’re coming from Olive and 6th. Their menu consists of sandwiches, salads, and bowls with the star being pork belly. There’s the crispy pork belly and the braised pork belly. Both tasty for a lunch if you work downtown. The rice bowls come with a small salad in the bowl and an egg. They don’t have a website yet but it’s worth checking out. Most items on the menu are around $ 9. There was also a thing on the menu called Kimchi Carbonara which I didn’t see but sounded interesting. It reminds me of Chego and I’m happy to suppose a young new business.
