I took a small private class with a friend and Clara. She was a wonderful teacher and tried to show me many techniques to get me started. I love her approach which is open, gently nudging but completely nurturing. Her studio is a lovely space to paint in and I left… hoping to return for another class. I had one so-​so painting and one that I absolutely love. Both taught me a lot. Thanks, Clara.

I have two of Clara’s Whispers collection paintings on my wall and it has been a hit with my family and friends, Clara used fabric reliefs over the canvas and the closer you get the more detail you see, When you visit her gallery you realize that she is an artist with a lot of inspiration and not one style fits all. One rainy Sunday a few weeks ago, I picked up my newly framed print of Clara Berta’s creation, Light After Rain. As the brown paper wrapper was removed for me to inspect the final product, it was as if the piece was actually illuminated from behind. The simple gilt frame and floated mounting set off the luminosity of the image perfectly, The framed work now graces the entryway to my home and sets a warm and inviting energy for all who enter. As the light changes throughout the day the mood of the work changes, like light does, after rain. Beautiful~

You will have one of the kind experience with Berta in her workshop. I participated in her mixed media painting workshop with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday. I wanted to get in touch with my creative side again and that is exactly what happened at the studio.
It is not just one factor but whole experience of being there at the studio with Berta was so inspirational and therapeutic. You will get to create your own art without having to have a previous skills and knowledge of fine art. Also you will get to focus on present happenings with your art and processing it thru not only paints but also daily things that are part of our life such as a piece of string, torn papers, coffee, tea etc.
Berta is amazing artist and teacher who is patient and understand your own inner processing thru art. She gently provides instructions and suggestions to get deeper and develop more with your art piece. She also teach you patience (e.g. how to control yourself and stop artmaking when the painting is too wet), wisdom of life thru art (e.g. It is ok to make mistakes, we can go back and try something else) and also how to observe your own artwork in a distance in order to learn what needs next. She also teaches various techniques that she has found and learned herself which is so valuable.
I can just go on and on and raving abt berta’s art workshop. But you will have to try out to experience yourself!

Today I attended my very first painting class at Clara’s studio. What an amazing experience. In a very short time, Clara helped open a whole new world for me. I have always loved abstract paintings, but have had no training whatsoever. With Clara’s gentle, nurturing, and inspired guidance, I was able to create a few pieces I am very proud to call my own. She is a true lover of art and a fantastic teacher full of wisdom, gentle persuasion, and passion. She will stop you in your tracks if she thinks you’ve gone off track, and then find inventive ways to bring you back into the moment. What a lovely experience with a lovely human being and coach. I will be back for more…

When I first moved to LA, I was searching for a place near my home to take some painting classes. I came across BertaArt and read all of the amazing reviewed. Long story short, I find out we both live in the same building and Clara was just a short walk up the stairs to her beautiful loft/​studio. Clara is warm, welcoming and incredibly talented. There is such a rush of positive energy as soon as you walk in the door. Clara and I have kept in touch and she has definitely inspired and encouraged me to keep painting. Definitely a One-​Of-​A-​Kind experience!

I am an avid collector of Ms. Berta’s artwork — 8 pieces so far. They range from her fascinating collages to colorful acrylics. They brighten up any room. Part of Clara’s vibrant, mystical personality is imbedded in that work.

I bought a piece of art of Clara Berta about a year ago, and omg — I love the piece. Already framed, it has instantly become the center of the room, and the best art that I possess.

I found Clara when I was searching for inspiration on the net. Exactly what I needed I signed up for her mix media class. When I arrived I new I was in for a treat. Clara opened up here home and studio with such ease and grace. she is full of life and love. As she took us back to her studio and for class the goodness kept coming she has an amazing place to create. During her class she was so giving and kind with all her products and knowledge. I consider myself an Artists of sorts as my canvas is hair.
Feeling like I wanted another creative outlet, I recently started taking a class with Clara in Art. I was amazed at how easily Clara helped me make the transition to a paint canvas.
She knows how to teach you and bring out your best with lots of enthusiasm,
I was able to be myself and get a bit crazy with my artistic elements.
She doesn’t mind in fact its encouraged, my suggestions are met with an open mind.
I have enjoyed creating my own work and display it proudly at my salon.

Stress. That is how I can currently describe myself. One big ball of stress. Let me stress (pun intended) that I eat well, exercise 6 days a week (cardio and pilates), hike, and have a loving boyfriend; but yet I am beyond stressed about several issues, most of which are financial.
Let me introduce you to a peaceful, zen-​like experience which (at least for a few hours) lessened my stress. No, it isn’t Yoga. A walk at the beach? No, not that either. It is a «Ladies Night In» class at Berta Art.
Now, you probably imagine a strict classroom environment where the instructor dictates your art, stumping your creativity versus allowing it to flow freely. Well, erase that thought because that is far from the truth at Berta Art.
Clara’s art studio is located at her home (which also doubles as a Bed– n-​Breakfast type establishment) in a guest house/​pool house. The environment is stunning. The architecture of the home itself plus the art work decorating the rooms is already enough to get your creative juices flowing. The pool, gardens, and hot tub will get you drooling. While the vibe will melt off stress. It is plain and simply gorgeous and not really describable. There is just something about it which is more calming than a bubble-​bath or a fireplace. Lately, whatever activity I engage in, I still think about my stresses but not here. This is the type of place I want to just come to and lay down for a few minutes to clear my head.
The actual Ladies Night In is a wonderful program. Spending time with other creative women (and you don’t have to be a pro, your inner artistic-​self will be released in such an environment) while first chatting around wine and cheese already makes you feel like you are at a bridal shower minus the cheesy games.
The class itself is well introduced by Clara at which point she provides a plethora of materials (canvases, dried flowers, paints, tissue paper, tea bags, coffee filters– anything you can think of as art) and helps you begin your art journey. She is never overbearing and lets you create your own piece while offering either a few tips on the methods or positive words. Clara’s main attributes as a teacher is her positivity and her genuine interest in art. One can tell that she is very proud of each and everyone of her students. It’s not really a class but more of a bonding, artistic get-​together.
Berta Art is a wonderful addition to the world of art. Whether you seek an activity for your girlfriend visiting from out-​of-​town, a location for a bridal shower, or just an activity to augment your workout regimen (seriously, this class is as peaceful as a massage or meditation); then Berta Art is the place to go. Plus, you will go home with a piece of art you will be proud of.

Clara’s art space is extremely welcoming and inviting.
I walked in staring at a canvas, and left with a person piece of art.
She helped me get out of my head and express from my soul using tea leaves, coffee filters, and other everyday items.
Once I left class I saw how the environment around me is a work of art, and how almost everything can be places on a canvas.
The world seemed brighter
I will never look at my tea leaves and bag the same way.
