Who is the nincompoop who advertised this placed as «closed forever?» I am an indigenous Santa Monican who still drives up here for dinner. Love seeing other old Santa Monicans who still frequent this place. Parking lot always full. No need to advertise to non-natives.(Wink, but I really mean it. Would love to keep it local.)

BILLINGSLEY’S HASREOPENED !! Good news, they just reopened last week. Same menu, staff and bartenders. They have plans for the future under the guidance of a new owner. And, they have more parking and same early bird specials.

Open again– Yayyy! Love the red leather booths, old fashioned waitresses and heavy-handed bartenders. Prime rib and BBQ Tri Tip are my go tos. And yes, we love the Green Goddess salad dressing.

DEFINITELYOPENONCEAGAIN. We just drove past their parking lot, and it was full at 7 p.m. on Saturday 1÷30÷16. Facebook postings also confirm that they’ve reopened under new management, but with the original staff and menu. That’s great news. Billingsley’s has been a favorite for prime rib and martinis for two generations of our family. We’re delighted that this West L.A. institution is back. We will be, too.

Reopen! A WLACLASSIC. Good meat to eat along with a 50s through back décor. I love the prime rib and I always get a side of mushrooms.

Second best burger in town and at half the price of number one, Plan Check. Been going there for many many years, great employees and fine cocktails. We’re not blue hairs yet, but we love the place. Hope it reopens!

Been going here for over 30 years. I went there tonight at 5PM. It was closed with mail overflowing in their mailbox. Not a good sign. No notices anywhere, place just closed. I am sad but not shocked. This place was a timepiece of the 60s and 70s and their dwindling clientele was anything but hip and trendy. But I probably put down 200 prime ribs here over the years. Perhaps they will reboot themselves but I have a bad feeling. RIP Billingsleys — ??

Fun, kitschy! My «X» said they make the best martini in town… as good at the Pacific Dining Car! Friends and cilents enjoy the atmosphere and food.

Restaurant is re-opening hopefully within the next few weeks under new and more caring ownership. New owner is committed long term to keep the same design and Family Style restaurant. Long overdue repairs will be made to re awaken the Billingsley’ Family Restaurant to it’s original grandeur.

We love this old time restaurant. They have wonderful daily specials like prime rib, pot roast, trout. Only restaurant that still serves green goddess salad dressing. It looks like a restaurant right out of Mad Men. They have a full bar and they make a great Manhattan. Service is always fantastic.

Great old steakhouse. Step through the door and its 1975 all over again. Ya gotta love the nude paintings in the bar-lounge! If you are a Gen-X er you will immediately feel at home. Its just like the restaurants your parents took you too when you were a kid. The food is just as you would expect, a reflection of that era with very reasonable prices and good old standards. Yankee pot roast, a variety of steaks and potato dishes, etc. The bar know how to make a cocktail too. Go you wont be disappointed. One caviat, the quality is not the best but its not very expensive either.

Exactly what I expected it to be and I really liked this place. It’s old, but well maintained. Reminds me of a typical steak/salad place from the Midwest. In fact, their green goddess salad was really good. The service was polite enough, though definitely not a warm feeling from anyone. I imagine the Metro construction has been a burden on their business and likely the server incomes. I hope they do well and stay in business a long time.

Sort of a cross between Ye Rustic Inn, a fern bar, and a discount Musso & Frank. I like it, although I don’t know how much longer it’ll be around.

I so enjoyed my return trip to Billingsley’s. It had been a «minute» or two. The sane dark wood charm and mystique is still here. You know it’s a step back in time and tradition. The food and drinks were oh so yummy. And LuLu is a delight extraordinaire. Back soon!

Pros: They have an actual parking lot!(So rare for LA) The 8oz prime rib was huge and delicious, the baked potato was good, the garlic cheese bread was also good, and the Mediterranean soup was exceptional! It was our first time here and they gave us complimentary desert on the house! They have a special for prime rib on Monday’s which is when our next visit will be! Overall, a really great meal! Cons: The décor is very dated and it’s also quite dark inside. The service was slow and our waitress kept forgetting to refill our water. On a busy night I would understand being a bit forgetful, but there was only about 5 other people in the restaurant when we went! Though the service was slow, the food was definitely worth the wait. My biggest con was that they don’t take American Express! The food is beyond 5 stars, the restaurant is 4 stars.

Billingsley’s Prime Rib and Steaks is the name on the menu. How do you run out of Prime Rib at 7:20 pm Sunday night? Old School Steakhouse opened for over forty years. Owner is the son of Barbara Billingsley who played«Leave it to Beaver» Mom on the 60’s TV show. Finished my drink and went looking for Prime Rib at Bandera on Wilshire and Barrington.
