Great gym. Nothing fancy just good machines and sweat.
Pretty relaxed, humble atmosphere.
Great 6 month deal.
Not much of the «alpha bro» vibe to deal with.

Totally laid back atmosphere. Really casual and easy to be yourself working out. There are a lot of regulars — young people and older people too. No self consciousness. Super affordable. No sign up fee and month to month is okay.

Body Builder’s Gym is a great small mom and pop gym in the neighborhood.
They pretty much have everything you need in terms of equipment and I’ve never had to wait for a machine here. For the most part too, unlike some gyms, most people seem to respect the «wipe equipment after use» rule.
More Average Joe’s Gym vibe than your Globos Gym.
My only complaint would probably be their ventilation system. Not sure if it’s because their attendants don’t check the thermostat enough but on days that are busier or warmer, the cardio room can feel very swampy…
They also have a small parking lot inside for guests of the whole plaza. Small but it’s still there.

I come here every night Monday — Friday and in the morning on the weekends. I can’t really speak for the free weight rooms, as I only ever use the the old school machines on the second floor and cardio machines on the first. Although there it is a smaller gym and doesn’t have even half the number of machines 24 hour or LA Fitness has, but it’s never really too crowded. I switch off between the treadmill, elliptical and bike. There’s always something open. However, I do wish they invested in a regular stair master. The stair master they have requires you to wear a belt (for safety and for resistance). I hate dealing with that so I never do it. There’s a TV in the cardio room, which usually plays CNN debates (most recently) and some basketball game.
After cardio I go upstairs to do ab, back and oblique floor workouts. In the mornings, there’s usually people taking up all the floor mat space. I just wait it out by going on a back or ab machine. Usually takes no more than 10 minutes for a spot to open up. I’m not nearly making the most of this gym since there’s a patio area to tan and lounge and an outdoor boxing area.
I always walk here from my place. Parking is shit, except if you come in before 7am.
Things this gym can benefit from:
— Better WiFi
— Sauna/​Steam room
— Regular stairmaster machines
— A rowing machine (who the fuck even uses that rope pulling machine?)

I have been going to BB for years. Graet neighborhood feel gym, clean, and good, friendly people… older, hipsters, mid-​age. BB has it all. You won’t be disappointed.

super friendly neighborhood gym. Never too crowded, never annoying the way so many gyms can be. Only complaint is the wifi could be stronger. There are some machines that don’t get any signal at all. But, hey, the price is right!

I love body builders. But I love my trainer Lance Callahan even more. He really helped me get to know the gym and how to really work out… properly.

A great neighborhood gym. No contracts. Awesome staff. And it’s a lot bigger than it appears from outside. Two small negatives include no steam room and slightly dated equipment. All in all it still gets 5 stars in my book!

I love this gym. I chose the Body Builders Gym due to its proximity to my job and I was never disappointed. They have decent, relatively new cardio machines and lots of «old school» weight systems”. The gym is never too crowded. The clientele is mostly middle age, healthy life style minded people rather than gym rats and wanna be-​s. For $ 40 monthly with no contract, you cannot go wrong with this choice.

Love my gym! Been going here for over 12 years now! Compared to other gyms the price is affordable, good equipment.

This is a fantastic gym. I started going because it was so close to home but now I realize why it is so well reviewed. As a skinny dude who is trying to learn about strength training I am seeing how well equipped this gym is in the basics. The vibe here is really chill and people are just here to workout which is perfect for me. So long LA Fitness, this is worth the extra $ 10 a month!

The best gym I have ever stepped into PERIOD! Welcoming staff, awesome décor that blends the Golden Area with a modern twist AND friendly patrons. After working out here, anywhere else would be a downgrade.

There is a great old school gym feel about this place. The staff are awesome, the members are cool (you will make friends) and the no-​contracts is a huge plus for me. Plus I can walk to the gym. What more could you ask for?

I love this gym. A lot of hot guys go to it and they never hit on me even though I’m super cute.

After skipping the gym for over two years, I was tired of feeling sluggish and not physically exhausted at the end of my work days. My previous gym was a good 10 – 15 minute drive, which doesn’t sound like a lot, but when your time is limited and you want to get a quick, good workout in, it might as well be an eternity.
Enter Body Builders Gym. I had read the reviews on here after discovering its close proximity to where I live and decided to give it a shot.
Now for someone who was very apprehensive about signing up and maintaining a good routine, I was very surprised and happy to hear they offered a variety of plans, all with ZERO enrollment fees. Take that, all you mega-​gyms that charge $ 100 before you even pay for a plan.
So I signed up for one month. I hired Lance Callahan (Silver Lake Trainer) to help get me in shape, strong, and motivated. I pressed forward and stuck to my routine, even if the first couple weeks were a bit challenging. And after that first one-​month plan, I decided to sign up for the three-​month plan.
That three-​month plan came and went last week in what seemed like record time. I have managed to keep my promise to myself and I took a bigger commitment now, with the six-​month plan.
I guess what I’m getting at is their plans are very, very affordable and non-​intimidating. I don’t know how to describe it, but it feels easier to keep my commitment when I sign up for smaller plans which seem very achievable, over a one or two year commitment. This, and the location, are by far my favorite parts of BBG.
Onto the equipment. I’m still what you might consider a novice when it comes to weight training and the gym. That said, I haven’t noticed a distinct lack of any equipment. Sure, it’s a smaller, cozy place but everyone is very friendly and helpful. I’ve rarely had to wait more than five minutes during a busy hour to use any equipment. Everyone seems more than willing to let you work in some sets with them.
I’m having a very hard time seeing where some of the other reviewers are coming from with the «complaints» of some other members. I’ve never experienced any negativity or even awkwardness with any of my fellow gym-​goers. I’m not saying it didn’t happen to other people, but in my four months of going here, I’ve never felt uncomfortable, awkward, intimidated, or any sort of negativity.
Body Builders Gym fits all of my needs; it’s close to home, it’s affordable with very fair and simple plans, it has all the equipment I need, and the people are friendly. I cannot stress enough how great my trainer, Lance Callahan (Silver Lake Trainer), is as well.
The only caveat might be parking. It’s in a densely populated area, but I’ve never had to look for more than five minutes for either street parking or parking in the lot below. Definitely not a deal breaker for me, but I would feel remiss not to mention it.
Try them out for at least a month if you’re curious or have your doubts and see what you think. As for me, I’m hooked and a loyal member at this point.

Best gym I’ve ever belonged to. Great neighborhood feel-​almost all the people who go here are very friendly and courteous. Easy to work in with others and people treat the equipment (i.e. clean up after themselves). And the staff is extremely nice and helpful.
And price wise, a great deal. No lame contracts or hidden membership fees-​all costs upfront.

I belonged to Body Builders from April 2013 — October 2013. The neighborhood is very nice and I really wanted to like this place but had to move on to another local gym due to a few issues.
The biggest issue was personal trainers taking over equipment and not understanding gym etiquette as far as sharing equipment. Hey, if you are good enough to have your own personal gym then that’s great; when you deny paying members the ability to use equipment you are hurting the club owners, who seemed like nice enough people. The trainers at this club were the worst I have ever seen in a commercial gym.
Another major issue was parking: it sucks. It was very hit or miss as far as parking being available in the lot behind the gym. There is street parking but it is mostly metered parking which is an inconvenience if you do not have your wallet or change handy.
Finally the layout of the gym is pretty bad. The free weights are spread out in three different locations with the bench press and Olympic bars up a flight of stairs.
I liked Myron and the other staff members at the front desk were super nice and cool. The gym layout, the lack of parking, and obnoxious trainers were too much of a hassle to contend with so I found another local gym that suited my needs perfectly.

Yo. I know lots of people say they love their gym but I luuuuuvvv my gym!
It’s such a small and comfortable place to work out. Once you start to frequent there enough your gym mates say hi and ask how you are! It’s really nice. They’ve got all kinds of equipment so you don’t have to worry that you won’t be able to get some type of specific exercise in.
When I first signed up I was worried about the overall worn-​out look to some of the equipment but the staff does an incredible job of keeping things clean and at $ 40 a month (less if you sign up for one of the specials) there’s really no other comparison in the area.

i had just retired and needed to stay busy. Went to this little local gym and found it nice. However, parking sucks. Not that its a big issue but i don’t want to spend time driving around looking for a free parking space on the street,
It is small inside. I like my personal space when training, but that is just me.
Its a neighborhood gym so if you live close by and don’t mind driving home when you are all sweaty, this place is for you. I found a name brand gym that charged the same monthly dues and had a steam room, sauna and a shower.
