Really bad experience. Worst company ever, the guy called Y.A. is rude and mean…0 star

AAA sent them, after waiting over an hour near 405 construction zone with my mom, the racist prick refused to tow the bmw and just left.
I filed numerous complaints with AAA, these guys are seriously one of the worst.

This place is a joke. I got into an accident and unfortunately these clowns were closest to the wreck. Not only is it difficult to reach them, when I did actually get a hold of someone they weren’t even on the premises! I just wanted to get a couple things out of the car… sunglasses, a coat that was in the backseat, etc. This was at 10:15 in the morning and nobody’s there??? This makes me want to go out of my way to spread the word regarding how horrible this place is.

Had an ok experience with Brent Air Towing, I blew out a tire pretty bad yesterday and AAA had them come out to put my spare on. Josh my tech was very helpful, polite and fast, 3.5 stars. He forgot to put the tire he changed out back into my car, got me into a little dilemma with Sears auto but josh fixed it as soon as he could the next morning. Thanks Josh.
The management (0 stars!) is a different story and in pretty disappointed in how the heads run their business. Called in the next morning to see what happened to my tire, Mark, the management who picked up listened to my story and told me there is no reason that one of his techs would have my tire even accidentally. What. didn’t realize you were superhuman and don’t ever make mistakes). After a few minutes of arguing he told me to call back after 1p so he could see which tech came to help me. It clearly stated Brent Towing systems they sent someone to help me yesterday around 7p. But you can’t track down your tech. Come on. Had to have my uncle call mark the manager back to figure it out… Eventually I had to describe Josh for him to recognize his own tech. Again, really? You don’t know your own techs…
Finally I tracked josh down and he was very apologetic for the situation. Thanks josh. and no thank you manager mark… Keep track of your service better.

I have had a horrific experience. I would NEVER suggest or recommend this company to anyone. Unfortunately, I was in a car accident on the 405 and Triple A sent Brent’s Air Towing to move my car. My accident occurred on a Sunday, and the body shop was closed. The tow company had to take my car to a holding lot overnight. the tow-​truck driver asked me to have my car taken to a body shop he knew of where I could, «get a deal.» After arguing with him that I did NOT want my vehicle taken to an unfamiliar shop, he finally agreed to deliver my car to MY trusted auto-​body shop the next day. The next morning I called the towing company and was told that my car would be delivered to the body shop within the hour. I called back 2 hours later, because my insurance adjuster was waiting for my car at the body shop and no delivery had been made. The gentleman from Brent’s Air who answered the phone asked me how I could be helped. In the middle of my explanation he cut me off and started talking to his co-​workers. He then proceeded to ask me, «What the deal was» with my car… I explained to him that his company had told me my car would be delivered over an hour ago and they had not followed through. He argued with me, raised his voice, and then hung up the phone on me. I tried calling back to find out where my car was… the phone would be picked up and then immediately hung up. Triple A and my Insurance Company tried calling Brent’s Air multiple times and no one was successful. Finally, Triple A sent another towing company to retrieve my car from Brent’s Air. when the new driver arrived, my car had conveniently just been delivered to the body shop. I wasn’t notified in any way shape or form. The service was unprofessional, the employee (s) are disrespectful and rude, and if I could rate the company with negative stars I most certainly would. They have cost me not only my time, but also money being away from work and hours spent on the phone with Triple A and my insurance trying to find my vehicle. My suggestions… do NOT use this company if you can avoid it.

I’ve been meaning to write this review for some time. I got into an accident over the summer at National/​Overland, where a guy decided to run the light as I turned left. It was ugly.
A Brent-​Air tow guy just happened to be passing by, and I showed him my AAA card. He helped clear the intersection by moving both cars to the gas station on the corner. And he ultimately took my car to their tow yard.
But the best part about it all, is that despite the fact that my car was totaled, is that he made me feel better. At one point he looked at me and said bluntly, but with a bittersweet smile, «well, your car is totaled.» I said «that’s it? It’s totaled?» He said «yup.» I almost laughed about it. Of course, it helped that no one got hurt.
When I went to the tow yard to pick up my personal items out of the car, the guy who let me in looked at my car and said «were you the one driving?» I said yes. And he said, «well, if all you need is a new car, consider yourself lucky. It could be worse.» And as crappy as I had been feeling about the whole situation, I realized he was right. I’m sure he’s seen the worst of all accidents, so for him to put it into perspective was sobering and made me grateful that I was ok.
Long story short, getting into an accident sucks. But these guys made my whole experience a little less painful. Thanks!

I’ve had to use roadside assistance far too many times over the years, and most of the time I’ve had satisfactory to excellent experiences. Recently I was stranded in Bel Air so AAA got me Brent Air tow which I guess services that area. Well, Brent Air kept me waiting for two hours in the middle of the day. After about an hour of waiting the dbag nasal sounding Brent Air guy yells at me because I don’t know if my car is a rear view drive or not, then threatens to make me wait another 3 hours because he doesn’t know if he has any tow trucks on hand. I tell him to hurry up and send a regular truck.
30 minutes later he comes, which is why I’m not giving this place 1 star. The actually guy who showed up was really nice, apologized for the behavior of the Brent Air operator, and fixed up my car promptly.
Beside that, I certainly hope I don’t get stranded again in Bel Air!

One of these drivers came thiiiiis close to crashing into my car today, he tried to change lanes into me going about 30 mph, AND he was towing a car at the time! Do you really want someone driving around like that with your car behind them? I don’t think so. Called the company to let them know and they didn’t seem overly concerned.

Illegal practices.
I parked in the wrong spot in my new apartment complex and my friendly neighbor called Brent Air on me. I had planned on being up & out quickly but got a phone call & chatted for an hour with my best girl friend & ended up parked there for 1 ½ hours.
I heard some beeping sounds + rushed down stairs. Saw the truck with my back two tires lifted + in the process of trying to tow. Saw my friendly new neighbor + tow truck driver.
I freaked out.
I was shell-​shocked. Mind blown. Kept on repeating, «this can’t be happening, you can’t do this»
And guess what? HE CAN’T.
I looked it up and have called the police + will contact a senior auto detective first thing Monday morning.

California Vehicle Code Section 22 658 Removal From Private Property
«(g) (1) (A) Possession of a vehicle under this section shall be deemed to arise when a vehicle is removed from private property and is in transit.
(B) Upon the request of the owner of the vehicle or that owner’s agent, the towing company or its driver shall immediately and unconditionally release a vehicle that is not yet removed from the private property and in transit.»
Obviously I asked him many times to release my car. I even threatened to enter my car + see if he dared try to tow it while I was bodily in it and claimed possession. The tow truck was only attached to the car by these two clamps that were keeping the back two tire wheels above ground.
My car was still in the parking spot! In private property — the private parking spot that I had wrongfully parked in. In the parking lot of the apartment complex WHERE I LIVE, hence MY private property. Had not moved an inch from the parking spot.
But here’s the real kicker. Subsection C:
«© A person failing to comply with subparagraph (B) is guilty of a misdemeanor.»
GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR. Probably minor. But still a CRIMINAL OFFENSE.
The Vehicle Code continues:
«(2) If a vehicle is released to a person in compliance with subparagraph (B) of paragraph (1), the vehicle owner or authorized agent shall immediately move that vehicle to a lawful location.»
Of course I would’ve been happy to oblige. Jumped at the opportunity.
But no. The Brent-​Air tow truck driver was GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR. The saga continues.
He refused to release my car. He started putting the straps on to tow the car (ILLEGAL) while I was there to claim possession of it. I backed down and said OK, I’ll pay. The resident who called the tow truck company on me was feeling apologetic and so offered to pay half of the quoted price.
What was that price? $ 200. TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS.
For what? Driving to my apartment complex? Attaching some clamps?
No towing. Very little effort.
And it cost TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS?
Well I gave him my debit card and he swiped it. When the resident gave the driver his card, the driver looked reluctant and asked him if he had cash. He said he only had 30. The driver said it was OK, pocketed the 30 and did not give him a receipt. Luckily, he gave me a receipt.
Now I’m thinking: Cash? How did he drop from 200 down to 130 so quickly?
And again the vehicle code comes to the rescue.
«(h) A towing company may impose a charge of not more than one-​half of the regular towing charge for the towing of a vehicle at the request of the owner, the owner’s agent, or the person in lawful possession of the private property pursuant to this section if the owner of the vehicle or the vehicle owner’s agent returns to the vehicle after the vehicle is coupled to the tow truck by means of a regular hitch, coupling device, drawbar, portable dolly, or is lifted off the ground by means of a conventional trailer, and before it is removed from the private property. The regular towing charge may only be imposed after the vehicle has been removed from the property and is in transit.»
I’ve established that the vehicle was not in their possession once I had come down to claim it. That it had not been removed from the private property and was not in transit. So they could’ve only charged me not more than one-​half of the regular towing charge simply for the fact that my car was coupled to the tow truck/​lifted off the ground.
What is the regular towing charge? Why, I’m so glad you asked! It is ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES. IT IS NOT UP TO THEIR DISCRETION. THEY DON’T GET TO RANDOMLY COME UP WITH A NUMBER OF THEIR PLEASING, LIKE TWO HUNDRED.

The towing rate is $ 109.50 per hour for Standard Vehicles
I have a standard Nissan Maxima. This all happened within 10 minutes.
They couldn’t have charged me $ 200. They couldn’t have even charged me $ 109.50. They could’ve only charged me $ 54.75.
Instead, he overcharged me 45.25 and pocketed 30 bucks cash from the other resident.
Pretty sweet deal for having done basically nothing.
THAT’S WHY IT’S ILLEGAL.

This has to be the most pathetic «Towing» company out there. Not only did it take THREE hours for them to arrive, but their customer service was absolutely horrible! The fact is, not that it took THREE hours, but the service leading up to the tow was plain and simply, just bad. The people at this company are rude and money hungry.

It’s pretty obvious that since I was the one getting towed, I’m gonna give them a negative review, right? No. If there is one thing I am as a human being it’s fair. I’ve been towed a couple of times in the past but it’s always been pure business and I have respected that these guys have a job to do. I’m not the type to get mad just because something didn’t go my way.
Problem with these guys though is that they’re vultures. This is not a legal argument but a basic human decency thing: Using a tow company to clear a private parking spot is meant to be a shield… These guys use it as a sword.
We stopped to grab a cookie at Diddy Riese in Westwood yesterday (our first time, visiting from San Diego) and parked in a spot thinking that it belonged to the business. We are gone less than 5 minutes (got lucky with a short line) and come out to see the car getting towed.
We come to find out (from other businesses in the area) that these guys are in cahoots with Socko’s Subs, the business right next door. The tow trucks hang out around the corner, wait for dummies like us to make the mistake of parking in Socko’s employee spots (there is an easy to miss sign high up; we take the blame for not examining it as much as we should have) and then swoop in and tow. You catch them in time and they’ll take $ 55 to let you go… Which in itself is a whole new shadiness.
This whole thing is a scam that Socko’s and Brent Air are running. What they’re doing is not illegal, it just sucks. The sign is easy to miss when you’re just jumping out of the car in a hurry and they’re banking on that. They did the minimum they needed to do to make the whole scam slip by the minimal legal standards. People accidentally (or purposely) parking in Succo’s spots is obviously something that happens a lot. The descent thing to do would be to put up a bigger sign (at car level instead of high up) and/​or to simply yell out at the Diddy Riese line «hey this your car?» But they don’t. They hang out and swoop in as they watch you walk away from your car.
The day before us, they towed a mom’s mini van with four crying kids.
Again, yeah, it’s legal. But is that the bare minimum standard our society aspires to?
So… Beyond all that… They smack pretty hard into my friend’s company car. He asks for the drivers insurance information and the driver refuses. He asks for a driver’s license and the guy refuses. The cops come and take our side. The driver seemed to really be enjoying the power that he had over us but when the police show up, he turns into an apologetic little weasel. Obviously he knew he was in the wrong and was very nervous around the cops. Possibly an ex-​con? We figured he’s used to bullying around some shy UCLA kids. If they guys wasn’t such a jerk from the get-​go, it could have all been solved in 5 minutes. But, obviously, it takes a very special kind of jerk to even take on a job like this. There are plenty of ways to make money which doesn’t involve scamming and scavenging.

Here we have a group of morons who got together to make a tow truck company. If I could give negative stars I would. Absolutely by far, the worst, most unprofessional service I’ve had the displeasure of dealing with. Any positive reviews you see on here, citysearch, or anywhere for that matter, are fabricated by Brent Air employees or out of chance that someone there was helpful for a single moment in time. Such garbage. AAA needs to cut them loose from their program. God forbid I have another emergency and AAA sends them to my aid. Every employee even Mark the owner, have no idea how to help customers or conduct business in a pleasant manner. And he is the OWNER. Rude trash. Save yourselves people! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

So I ran over some tire spikes…
I caled Brent Air last Saturday and the guy who picked me up was really nice, but I specifically asked them on the phone for a receipt and the one he gave me didn’t have ANY information on it that was useful to my insurance company, even though I tried to make it very clear than I needed an actual itemized receipt from Brent Air towing, he basically gave me a hand-​written piece of paper.
However, he gave me a really good deal, towed me 10 miles and only charged me $ 80 cash.
I called the afternoon supervisor a week later (his name is Stu) and even though he sounded like he hated his job and didn’t want to deal with a stupid customer on the phone, he was surprisingly very helpful and accommodating. He took down all my information and mailed me a new receipt with all the company info on it.
Way to go, Stu. You’re the man.

I bought a brand new battery from them in April and I’m sitting here in 80 degree heat waiting for a new battery to be brought out. I called brent air towing when my car wouldn’t start and they told me to call AAA and hung up the phone!!! When i called back to speak with the manager he told me that the battery was covered under warranty from AAA and they would deal with it but I wouldn’t have to pay anything. That’s not the point. The point is, that I shouldn’t have to sit for 2 hours in the hot sun waiting for a replacement for something I bought 3 months ago!!! (and yes, I did have my mechanic come out and check it beforehand because, thankfully, I broke down just blocks away from him but due to the AAA warranty I couldnt’ have him do anything to the battery… so, it was a bad battery-​not something in the car draining it
Also, as an FYI: AAA will not replace batteries that register as «Severely Discharged.» Meaning: even if the battery won’t hold a charge, if it doesn’t register as completely dead, AAA will not replace it under their new policy-​just something to keep in mind.

I’ve had to deal with this company a few times through AAA and while they are usually satisfactory I’ve had a couple of dealings with them that left a bad taste in my mouth.
1^st time was a call to help change a tire. They came out and charged me for the trip even though I had cancelled it. The second time was a call to AAA for towing. The driver called back to tell me it would be an hour and a half before he could get to me but asked that I not tell AAA or they would be demerited.
