My go-to place for coffee! They serve Starbucks coffee: blonde roast(my favorite), pikes place and the dark roast. They also have a variety of food: Salad, sandwiches, burgers and sushi too! Their breakfast is a huge hit. They make omelette but their specialty would be the burritos. The workers are always so friendly and keep everything clean. Some of their snacks are a little pricy but not too shabby

Food is well prepared. Its a small café but has some good offerings. The only issue is the layout of the café makes it hard to enter and causes you to walk around tables and cashiers.

Food was freshly made with a pretty decent variety from burgers to sushi. Tasted good and was pretty reasonably priced with nice garden setting that was serene and relaxing. Ok…I am taking the piss… it’s a damn cafeteria so get over it… it is what it but needed something fast and reasonable… plus love adorable woman in scribe! YES!

I tried the«Mediterranean» chicken and vegetables plate on a bed of rice with sides of salad and corn. The corn is really just corn from a can, which is fine. The rice is bland but cooked properly. The salad had some brown bits. The chicken was over cooked and the vegetables literally turned to mush when I tried to scoop them. No chewing required! A bit alarming since bell peppers and onions are suppose to have a crisp bite to them, right? I know this is likely the result of constant heating for 2 – 3 hours to make sure the lunch is piping hot when it’s serve to you. 1pm is probably a tad late to go here for lunch since he guy spent a long time scraping the bottom of the pans for last of the corn and salad for me. That’s way too much scraping for my comfort. Terrible taste and terrible texture but I was quickly fed. At least service was friendly. The guy patiently explained what they had. And man, he really put effort into scraping the last of that salad and corn for me. haha, thank you. :)

This café is suprisingly yummy. The small deli inside is very good. The have a nice variety. Everything from pizza and pasta to el pollo locos salads. If you come around noon when all the food is fresh and the crowd isnt flooding the small café, it is a great place to get lunch. They also have taco bell amd starbucks!

The salad bar, doe. I am trying to be healthy by eating salad for lunch at work at least once a week so I just take the elevator down to the first level and get my ~$ 4 – 5 salad. I love this salad bar because they offer salmon(not everyday though so you might be unlucky and go on the days that they don’t serve salmon). If you go too late, the salad bar might be empty and they don’t really fill it once it gets close to 3PM because that’s when they close! I got breakfast a few times here and it’s decent, nothing spectacular. They also have small cups of cream cheese and peanut butter and sometimes when I bring apples as my snack, I would go here and take a few cups so I can dip my apple with peanut butter. You gotta do what you gotta do when you’re a starving college student xP

For my first time coming here, it was a bit disorienting. Starting from the entrance of the café, the food stalls, drinks, and everything is sort of sectioned off away from the entrance. You’re left to traverse through all the tables before even figuring out what they’re serving. For a hospital cafeteria, the one across the street in Ronald Reagan is better — especially in terms of the layout. Food-wise, I would say they’re the same, and the food is alright…

I love the Tomodachi stand at Café Med. Initially, I was hesitant to try sushi served in a cafeteria but their sushi is really fresh and good! The owners of Tomodachi(?) who work there are so nice and friendly, just for that reason I keep coming back! HIGHLYRECOMMEND giving Tomodachi a try. The other food is ehh. The pizza is good most of the time. Basically, good place for lunch if you’re close by and hungry! Con…I’ve noticed that the prices keep going up…

Looks like a hospital cafeteria, smells like a hospital cafeteria, and that’s cause it practically is one! But despite the smells and looks of this place, it’s a decent place to catch a quick bite if you are in the medical school campus. They have great sandwiches that are made to order as well as your standard soup bar, salad bar, grill, etc. What appeals to me the MOST is actually that they serve Starbucks coffee. I know, i know, what is so special about Starbucks coffee? Well, if you work /study around the medical school, you are very limited in what coffee you can get. There’s Synapse and Southern Lights, both of which are subpar, so I definitely like to come here to get my caffeine fix! Caveat! This coffee shop closes at 3PM, so be mindful of that before you make the trip down to CHS!

As far as cafeterias go, it’s cheap and pretty tasty. They have a few rotating menus with standards(entrees like chicken or fish, sides of cooked veggies or pasta), as well as a soup station, salad bar, grill, etc. If you get a hot entrée, you can have lunch with two sides and a drink for around $ 7 — not a bad deal, and the food ain’t terrible either. Now that the hospital’s moved across the street to Reagan, this cafeteria isn’t nearly as bustling as before, but it still gets busy around lunchtime. Also(before Reagan opened), they used to have bomb cheese steaks made fresh to order, but now they’re a bit sad and greasy, so I wouldn’t recommend ordering one. Not a bad place to eat as a UCLA student!

This is my work cafeteria. Yes, it’s hospital-quality food, but the hospital café across the street serves outstanding food. Bottom line: Obviously neglected(food quality and upkeep) since the new hospital opened, this is an overpriced, limited selection of mostly«okay» food. This place is very, very expensive, even compared to campus food. You can get El Pollo Loco or Tomodachi Sushi here, but it’s priced even higher than the El Pollo Loco and Tomodachi in Westwood. A small, generic brand coffee and breakfast English muffin sandwich cost me over $ 7. Even a slice of pizza and a drink will cost you $ 5. Last year, in an effort to be healthy, they did away with fried food(including my favorite tuna melts), increased prices on sodas, and lowered prices on salad. Best bets: — Soups, especially chicken tortilla. Chili is good too. — If you do the salad bar right, you can get a small salad for under $ 3 — You can get CHICKENWINGS for BREAKFAST. I have yet to try them, but still, that’s pretty rad. — Make-your-own toast with a variety of breads, bagels, butters, peanut butters and jams, 50 cents each! — Good variety of Odwalla juices, bottled drinks, teas, snacks, and ice cream The bad: — The cookies have a low turnover rate are never replaced, and are like hockey pucks. DONOT buy them. I did once and I was sorry. — The omelets and other items would be sooo much better if they used real cheese. — Salad bar is pretty limited in items. — Very limited hours, everything closes at 3 and is completely closed on the weekends, even though students, faculty, and patients are here until late at night. The business school café stays open until at least 7PM, why can’t this one? — Breakfast items are spread out all over the place, so you have to wait in 2 or 3 different lines if you wanted, say, a bagel with eggs and sausage. — Everything else is too pricey to be worth it. Just go to Ralphs or Trader Joe’s across the street. I pretty much only go here because I’m lazy and it’s around the corner from my office.

A pretty big bowl of tasty soup and crackers for $ 2.54. I really really like the cream of potato, and thought chicken tortilla was okay. Vegetable barley was icky though; too salty! Their(potentially outdated) website says they have clam chowder too, but I’ve never seen it. I hope I get to try it some day… Every time when I eat the cream of potato, I think to myself, «Man, this tastes just like really good clam chowder, but it’s missing something… Oh yea. Clams.»

Man, this place is sh! t! I can’t believe for a cafeteria catered for a building of healthcare professionals would serve a wide selection of overly priced, nutritionally weak food that seems to somewhat resemble that of a dormitory status. I know recently they have been trying to improve by removing all fried foods(including tator tots, fries, chicken tenders, the fried tortilla bowls of tostadas) so I will give them credit for at least acknowledging that they need to improve the quality of their food. I pretty much only come when I’m too lazy to pack my lunch the night before. I usually like to keep my lunch combos to about $ 5 which pretty much can get me 1 slice of pizza and a fountain drink, which is still kind of pricey IMO for the amount of food you get. However, lately I’ve discovered an affordable, yet tasty option, which is the Chicken BRC burrito for $ 3.50, though it is from El Pollo Loco. That’s only reason saving this place from receiving a 1 star. Bring your own lunch to CHS if you can!

I hesitate to give a review here based on one meal, for it’s a cafeteria of many things, including separate vendors(e.g., El Pollo Loco). But, I will say that their tortilla soup sold on Wednesdays for $ 2.54 is one of the best items of very high value. In other words, you get a decent portion of quite flavorful soup for a very small price compared to eating elsewhere. Granted, it’s not your traditional brothy soup topped with tortilla strips(the cafeteria is not allowed to serve anything fried), but it is a creamier version of a spicy chicken soup with doses of fresh cilantro mixed right in. It’s worth your time, if you can stand the mystery of not knowing how bad it might be for you given that it’s soup(sodium central) and cream-based. Other options include sandwiches that are priced and of portion sizes similar to anywhere else, as well as some pastries, cakes, and other items. But, go for the tortilla soup, an easy 4 on my Unilocaling scale, and you’ll be happy you did.

Going here honestly is hit and miss. I went here a couple weeks ago and tried their international bar and had their Seafood Ramen Soup, not bad, it was quite good actually. Another time had some Chicken katsu plate, also good. So last week decided to try mexican, had Gorditas, I was quite dissapointed. Their Chicken was dry and rather bland and the beans not so bueno. Tried the Carnitas gorditas it was Ok but nothing to write to mom about. Sadly I did not finish the meal. Today I decided to play it safe and try their el pollo loco bowl, which was more pricier than the regular El Pollo Loco and smaller. When I asked the server if I can get lettuce on it, she said no, because I guess lettuce is rare and at a premium. :(They also only put a dab of salsa, cmon Im Mexican I love salsa. There was also no extra cups of salsa to put on, so I was stuck with my little dab of salsa. Come on Café Med your at UCLA you can do better. Please.

Offered in small scale in the Center for Health Sciences(CHS) and the new Ronald Reagan Medical center for the whole thing, this place is the best on-campus eatery at UCLA. The prices are right, students do not pay sales tax, and the food options are generally healthy and tasty. Whether you want some fresh rolled sushi, american cuisine, deli sandwiches, it is available for you every day. No need to waste time going into Westwood, and for $ 4.16 for a deli sandwich you cannot go wrong since you’d pay more than that to make it from raw ingredients at the grocery store. Can get busy during the lunch hour, but the employees are very friendly and helpful and want to get you into and out of the door as quickly as possible. Beats anything available in Ackerman Union, or elsewhere on campus, since it’s not managed by the UCLA Restaurants, which just offers high fat, salt, and high glycemic index food options for a higher price. If I didn’t have to pay for parking, I’d make this a destination place for lunch!

This place is growing on me. I’ve had to come here on a more regular basis case I am closer to this part of campus now. The staff are friendly and quick to serve you. I decided to tack on an extra star. Anyway, it still is expensive for what you get. There are better restaurants to be eaten at during lunch in Westwood.

Café Med. The only place you really can eat if your days are spent in the south side of campus. For a hospital cafeteria, quite unhealthy. There are supposedly brown rice options at every meal, but I have yet to see anyone order it. It’s presence is somewhat of a mystery. Expensive food items of all sorts. To me, only the coffee is worth it. Starbucks drip for $ 1.20 small, $ 1.45 medium. Out in the real Starbucks world, I think a tall drip goes for nearly $ 2. The best thing? The intersection of doctors, nurses, patients, families of patients, work staff, students of all the professional and graduate degrees, and other temporary visitors. This is where they equalize.
