This place is the best! Such a great selection of basketry supplies. Searched all over Los Angeles to find what I needed, so glad I found this place. It has stuff you can’t even find online.

Thanks for the great job you did repairing the seat of my rocking chair! I am happy to be able to use it again! It was also nice that you could ship it to me. Great service! Friendly staff. :-)

Everything you need for your caning, bamboo, rattan projects. Susan is extremely welcoming and took the time to connect us with some artists in her network that are in line with what we are looking for.

I had 4 cane chairs restored & recanted. They did an excellent job and did the work super fast, in time for my dinner party a few days later. I highly recommend this place. They are professionals and their pricing is very fair.

We had a 45 year old cane rocking chair that needed some serious repair. They did it perfectly and quickly. What more can you ask from a business?

just adore places that have lasted a Los Angeles lifetime– which is not European-long, but long for this young, itinerant city. from the moment you drive by, you are in the past. It looks like an Edward Hopper painting from the street. once you walk indoors, you are in Mexico City, a long time ago. It’s breathtakingly beautiful, clean and a crafty person’s porn shop. i felt like i had wasted my life by not learning how to weave. i brought them antique chairs(fancy ones, not mine) to be re-caned. Ruben did a beautiful job. then the cheapest-man-in-the-world, my bro-in-law, brought his dining chairs to be re-caned. The bro-in-law was equally charmed and smitten and didn’t make a peep when paying the bill. so I knew this place was the bomb. as the kids like to say. can’t wait to go back tomorrow for some bamboo to make curtain rods out of. i live in Echo Park. and i can’t wait to drive to Cochran. i loathe driving and despise errands involving gas and cars. so that’s how much i love Cane & Basket Supply Company.

I found these folks on the internet as I was trying to decide if I should get rid of our 35+ year old dining room chairs because the cane webbing in the back of the chairs had begun to split from top to bottom. The site said to send a sample of the spline and the webbing if unsure of what to order and they would contact you. For a buck it was worth trying. A couple of days later a gal from their shop called and we chatted for about 20 minutes about cane webbing, what I’d need and how to do it. I ordered the materials and tools which came a couple of days later. The materials were top notch, the instructions were in plain english and easy to follow and I repaired the broken chairs for a fraction of the cost of one new chair in about three hours. Great shop, great help. Woohoo! My wife is proud of me and I didn’t have to buy new chairs.

This place is a weaver’s smörgåsbord! The crafting ideas from being in this kinda random feeling basket supply place for 10 minutes left my head swimming. There’s caning in every size and shade you can imagine, jute, reeds, webbing, you name it. Also definitely worth it if you’re having any sort of tiki or luau party– there’s this garage-like section with a variety of bamboo poles and sea grass. Super knowledgable and helpful staff– especially Susan.

If you are looking for one of the most extensive stocks of bamboo, cane, rattan and weaving supplies … I HIGHLY recommend Cane & Basket Supply Company. Their staff is extremely friendly and helpful. And for folks in the Philippine Dance world… I hear this is the place that folks come for Tinikling and Singkil poles.
