Caroline White Photography

Caroline did photos and videos for an online fundraiser I did for a little girl with cancer. Not only were the photos and video amazing but she also offered and then helped to raise a massive amount of money for the cause. She has an amazing sense for light and a caring and enthusiastic nature which put me, the subject, at ease when I was in a very stressful state. I hate having photos taken of myself but I absolutely love looking at the photos Caroline took of me. A brilliant photographer and a gem of a human being!

Caroline has quickly risen to become the go-​to Photographer of choice for entrepreneurs’ lifestyle shots — I’ve used her, as have several of my friends and peers. She gives you soooo much of her valuable time and seriously INSPIRED energy. I don’t know how she does it. She got so much variety and so many great pics — it was incredible — and it was painless, and actually fun. I felt a new sense of confidence in myself and my business after shooting with her — check out her behind the scenes video on youtube and you will see what I mean:
She understands the ins and outs of branding, but she applied her knowledge to who I am, what I am doing, and she thinks and works very much with a mind on the future. She has vision. She’s getting expensive mind you, but I think well worth it — I have shot with her twice once as an actress, and now as an entrepreneur in the health and wellness arena. She was more affordable a ways back — but she has brought her skill level up dramatically.

She makes you look like you’ve always imagined.

I was super nervous about getting my headshots done because it had been 5 years since my last one– I wanted them to look perfect! Caroline was super friendly from the moment I arrived and that made me already feel at ease. Her wit makes you laugh and her smile and joy of taking your pictures makes you feel super confident and comfortable. I’m so glad my friend referred me to her– I’ve had a lot of great comments on my new headshots!

Caroline is friendly, fast, and has a great crew! It was a pleasure to watch someone so experienced and caring, a true professional!
She knows how to put the client/​model at ease and pull great photos out of their time in studio!

I’m new to the headshots game, so when I began researching photographers, I knew I needed someone not only talented, but also able to put me at ease. Thankfully, past Unilocal reviews led me to Caroline.
Caroline spent time with me on the phone before my shoot, helping me select the best looks and locations. She then spent the entire shoot day focused on our work together, rather than rushing me through to get to another client. We managed to knock out a terrific variety of shots, which communicate perfectly my career intent and brand.
I can’t wait to use my new headshots, and see how they guide my path in 2013!

Caroline is absolutely AMAZING! She is so talented at bringing out your best self. She made me feel comfortable instantly and we had so much fun! She is seriously talented. Her ideas are amazing. Working with miss Caroline White was the most amazing, fun and positive photography session that I’ve ever imagined…
She has this way of making you feel so comfortable especially for those of us who are INCREDIBLY uncomfortable in front of a camera. She prepared me for what to expect, by could have never prepared me for the BLAST we would have taking those photos!
And not only is she excellent at doing things to make you feel your most beautiful-​self, but the photographs that resulted from this session were AMAZING…

I am writing yet another review since mine was oddly filtered.
In short, Caroline is a fabulous photographer with a real gift for capturing the true essence of each subject. Now that’s talent!

Let me start by saying that I did get a few use-​able headshots from Caroline, so the experience wasn’t a total bust. Her prices are affordable… but you get what you pay for. Maybe she was just having an off day when I arrived.
At the time of my shoot at least, she could only shoot in natural outdoor light and only shot JPGs (pros shoot in RAW format). If you want someone who knows about studio lighting or shooting indoors, go elsewhere.
Also, I’ve been a working actor for well over 10 years, and Caroline was the first photographer I’ve worked with that actually made me feel uncomfortable. And, I usually enjoy getting headshots.
I arrived around 11 a.m. and it was clear she had just rolled out of bed and was barely awake inside her (really, really) messy L.A. apartment. Unprofessional.
We picked out some outfits for me and got to talking, and she basically gave me the third degree about my acting career. It’s normal for photogs to ask what you work most in (commercials, theater, TV, etc.) but it’s not normal for photogs to aggressively question why you give your agent/​manager commission on certain jobs, how in the world you booked a certain job, etc. Who does that? It was weird. Maybe it was just me?
So we start shooting, first indoors, then outdoors. The indoor photos came out horribly because of the non-​existent lighting. She can’t shoot indoors and I don’t think she even has lighting equipment. The outdoors photos were better, but…
The makeup artist she hired put white eyeliner on my lower waterline (right above my bottom lashes). It’s a trick that’s supposed to make your eyes sparkle/​pop– when you’re lit properly. But, I guess she doesn’t know about lighting, because in about half of my photos you can clearly see the white eyeliner, and it looks bad/​distracting, so they’re all totally useless.
If you’re still with me here, that only left me with about ¼ of the photos to choose from. And not because I had a weird expression or closed my eyes– because of bad lighting and a makeup flub!
I still frequently get emails and texts (yes, texts) from Caroline asking me to participate in contests that she’s running– write a review for her and you’ll be entered into a free headshot drawing! Vote for her on Backstage and win free headshots! So, I suspect that’s why there are so many five-​star reviews here. Or again, maybe she was just having an off day.
Whatever it was, I won’t be going back, and won’t think twice about spending a few more bucks on a good headshot photographer next time.

Caroline White is an amazing photographer! She has shot me a few times, and everytime she nails it! Whenever I have my head shot with me… People stop me to ask me who took the photo. She has also taken editorial/​candid shots or which are great as well these days. I have been noticing her wedding photography really taking off too! So if and when I get married… done!

Wow! Go to her website and check her out! The colors, the framing, the light! It’s like she draws friendly and approachable out of these people’s faces, I love it! ;-) (Oops, sorry for all the exclamation marks, but seriously folks…) Normally these photographers shoot one headshot same as another; but Caroline White really gives you something special. So if you’re an actor, singer, or need a business picture or headshot (and yes business people you NEED pictures, yeash — it’s a brave new world, and in color) I’d have to recommend this photographer.
Pictures like this will boost your marketability and viability in booking that next audition for roles & gigs, looking more current in the professional corporate world, acquiring agents & managers, and she’s affordable too! I couldn’t ask for better
Oh, and then there’s the neat little thing that she is occasionally in NYC and will broadcast the fact so you can set up shoots there too if needed. Wow! Ok so she’s in West Hollywood, Los Angeles. Go, Get shot, Get seen!

Caroline is a true professional. She knew exactly what equipment to use to bring out the essence of my jewelry. Not only is she an amazing photographer but she is so personable and easy to work with. I would use her again for my etsy shop.

Caroline is so awesome! Totally professional experience and my shots turned out great! A big plus is that she meets with you before hand so she can understand exactly what you want. She gave me the best pictures of my life and I would totally use her again!

I had such a great time shooting with Caroline. I’m an actress and a photographer as well and she made me feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful! We were cracking jokes the whole time and it was a really awesome professional and relaxed environment. I used my headshots for years– and everyone always complimented them. I had a lot of shots to choose from and just found myself rotating several photos. As a woman who I am sure only get better, I cannot wait to shoot with her again. Run, don’t walk to Caroline! She’s a gem!

Caroline knows the biz, is enthusiastic and fun to shoot with! She took extra time with me to make sure we got the shots I wanted — we even ended up chasing the sun a bit. I really appreciated the extra care!
I also greatly appreciated the package she sent ahead of time to help me prepare, and the time on the phone we spent prior to the shoot (especially with helping me to know what clothes to choose — this can be a huge thing for me!).
Oh, and I was feeling a little sick the day before the shoot and she even told me to get liquid vitamin D3 to help me feel better. I think it helped!
Caroline also spoke with my agent before the shoot and followed up afterward by sending a few of her favorite shots, which really helped me narrow my choices down.
She’s GREAT!!!

Caroline is amazing. I have taken head shots with a number of photographers and Caroline is the cream of the crop. She is an actress herself and understands what the industry is looking for. I chose Caroline because she was the first photographer that made me feel at ease. My head shots from Ms. White consistently get me auditions and compliments. She gives you a great range. The biggest thing I remember about my shoot is how excited Caroline was while taking the pictures. She really gets you into the shoot.

Caroline is awesome! I am not an actress. But, I needed headshots for work. It was one of my only times on the other side of the camera. She made me feel super comfortable and the pics turned out amazing!
And she shoots on both coasts!

I’ve gotten headshots with many photogs over the years and Caroline is by far my favorite. She’s fun, professional and most importantly takes great pictures! Some photographers know how to capture the true essence of a person, and some just don’t. And there’s really no way to find out until you shoot with them and spend the money.
I definitely felt like she captured me in our session, and the biggest issue I had was choosing which photo I liked best!
