History

Established in 2005.

Dr. Alex Kaplan and his wife Amy humbly started this medical practice together in 2005. The business name was originally Tattoo MD because of its specialty in laser tattoo removal, later evolving into «Celebrity Laser Spa» in order to reflect the wide variety of services and «celebrity experience» that patients receive. The Kaplans and their staff are focused on providing incredible results and family-​like care to their patients.

In 2013, Celebrity Laser Spa received state accreditation from The Institute for Medical Quality, signifying the high medical standards and distinguished quality of care that we maintain at our office.

Dr. Kaplan graduated from University of Michigan Medical School in 1996. He received plastic and general surgery training at University of Chicago and emergency medicine training at UCLA.

Dr. Kaplan is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

This review is specifically for Jeremy who is always warm, friendly and helpful. So far, everyone has been very professional here and I cannot wait to try other services! I was quite impressed that Dr. Kaplan trains his front office staff well so that they are able to answer basic questions about procedures, Botox, etc. With all these scammers around Los Angeles injecting extremely diluted Botox, this medical/​spa office really seems to have a Doctor that actually cares!

I’ve been coming here forever, before they moved to the location on San Vicente, and I’ve never had a bad experience.
They’ve lasered my tattoos multiple times (I still have them, but thats because I wait yearrrs in between treatments) and every time I ‘ve come in everyone has been friendly, warm, helpful and patient. Nice modern office, love the blues on the walls. So zen and spa like.
Parking can be a bit pricey as they only validate for 45m, but there’s street parking available.
I just had coolscultping done and cant wait to see the results!

I’m writing this review perhaps about a year after my last Dermapen treatment.
About my overall experience; I give 5 stars to Jeannie (i hope i recall her name correctly) the PA who performed at least 4 out of 5 dermapen treatments. She has the right attitude and makes you feel comfortable and welcomed. One star for the waiting time and unnecessary Lidocaine wrapping on your face that truly can put you at risk of bradycardia as well as the damn parking fee that adds up to your travel expense!
According to my research and the PA’s recommendations Dermapen treatment would have been the right choice to get rid of my acne scars. She told me that because of my olive skin tone, being a younger age, and etc the laser procedure can put me at risk of skin discoloration so I decided to forgo with the Dermapen treatment with stem cells package. I have been also told that I have to give it at least 6 months after the last treatment to see results and improvement in my facial appearance.
Here is my advice to the people who are considering Dermapen treatment for acne scars. Do not waste your money and time like I did. This procedure not only is a waste of time and money but also I feel like it tends to wear off your skin collagen and will fasten the aging process.
I strongly believe that my face has lost its elasticity and some fine lines started to look more prominent than ever before of the recent year in my face.
I know aging is a process and perhaps I should expect fine lines as the years go by but I’ve been the type where most people guess my age at least a decade younger than my actual, but recently being a detail oriented person and looking myself with a magnifying mirror I noticed the difference in my skin texture and above all those damn acne scars are noticeably still there and if there is any improvement it’s not significant at all.
By the way of course if you do your research you may come across 5 stars rating about the treatment but keep in mind that there are people behind these so called rejuvenating technologies who are trying to make money and of course will employ and rate their product so that they can make the lucrative skin industry running. Final words don’t waste your 2 k on dermapen, save it and go on a vacation and get a sun tan instead!

After writing my not so positive review bout Celebrity Laser Spa, Dr. Kaplan contacted me, he was extremely nice and apologetic for the experience I had with the front desk; he even asked if there was anything that clinic could do to make it up for the unpleasant experience I had. I refused because my review was not about that and would have been unfair to ask that cause the clinician was really great. Again I was honestly very impressed how Dr. Kaplan handled this situation, it speaks very highly of him and about this clinic. I would suggest this place because, clinician was outstanding and honestly that’s the most important part, she was very knowledgeable and answered very patiently to all my questions and accommodated me well so I felt comfortable through the entire procedure.

Last Saturday I came in for Juvederm to add some volume to my lips. Jeannine was incredible. She was very patient and didn’t rush me at all during the process. It was my first time and she understood that I needed her to go at my pace so I wouldn’t be scared. The office staff was great and Danielle numbed my lips perfectly I barely felt the treatment. I’ve gotten loads of compliments ever since and I truly recommend anyone who is interested in sprucing up their look or ridding of their flaws come here. They’re honest, and fairly priced! I had ultherapy in this surgery center yesterday 11-25-2015.I have an great opinion about people who work there. Dr. Alex Kaplan is very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I asked him a lot of questions and he answered on all of them giving me complete information about procedure that will be right for my skin and my age.

2 star review for front desk clerk. After 2 years I finally returned to finish my laser tattoo removal. I really wish everyone were wearing name tags. Or if they were I wish they were in plain site. Check-​in was fine. I had the same Laser tech as before and as before she was very nice. Check out was a different experience. The short frizzy /​curled up, long hair «blonde» Latina (I’m Latina too) had very bad attitude with me while taking my payment and scheduling my next appt. She made me feel unwelcome.
I felt very uncomfortable. Even my good natured, positive husband commented on her very poor attitude. You know, sometimes you don’t mesh with people even workout saying a word, and that’s ok BUT you’re at WORK and getting PAID to at least pretend to be friendly and welcoming. Being bitchy is not good for her employers great reputation, not to mention bottom line.
Ok enough of that. 5 STARS for laser removal. After 2 sessions my dark tat looks so faded that the very nice tech even said it should be a featured item! I’m very HAPPY with results! Thank you! Can’t wait for next treatment in Jan. MERRY MERRY AND HAPPY NEW YEAR CELEBRITY LASER CENTER!

I just had the best experience here! The staff is so incredibly nice, knowledgable, professional, and welcoming! Their spa is beautifully designed. Easy to find, lots of parking (street&discounted validated garage). I got the derma-​pen procedure done (for acne scars) for the first time and I am BLOWN AWAY by the results. I bought a package of 5 with stem cells added (worth it), and I can’t wait for my second appointment! The Derma-​pen itself didn’t really hurt because they numbed my face but it does get pretty red right after. Looks like I was badly sunburnt, but went away a few days later! Thank you for improving my self confidence and making me feel very comfortable throughout my appointment. A little pricier than other places I researched, but you get what you pay for. They also have a great Care Credit option with low monthly payments with no interest for 12 months!

Not normally a reviewer nor contributor, but this particular experience was a must.
Went in for a vanity procedure, Dr. Kaplan was patient, knowlegeable, supremely personable, and later confirmed: Skilled.
I have a horror of surgical procedures, needles, etc… Dr. Kaplan and his staff were so accomodating, had just enough humor to lighten the mood, but were serious and professional at showtime.
I am in the entertainment industry in Asia and discretion and superb performance is key to me. Dr. Kaplan met these needs and I am over the top that I decided on Celebrity Laser MedSpa out of my list of 7.
They are a very well run organization, and today is my day after my surgery. I have minimal bruising and everything is pretty much exactly as he explained it would be to me.
This is the best kept secret for those who really want quality work and no un-​necessary fluff.
Beautiful little facility and first class all around.
I will personally be endorsing Dr. Kaplan to my colleagues and friends from hereon out.

Cool Sculpting — Back Fat /​Arms
I just had to come back for more!
On one of my laser hair removal visits I was talking to Lupe, who is one of CLS’s medical assistants and also one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. She was telling me about how they were getting booked left and right with appointments for Cool Sculpting. After learning more about it from her, I was dying to try this freeze the fat everyone’s been talking about so of course I booked my consultation.
The day of my consultation I met with Raquel, who is exceptionally nice and down to earth, and she answered all my questions and put me at ease with my concerns. I came out of the consultation so eager and excited to start.
Although the process isn’t the most fun experience you can ask for (since you do have something sucking at you), Raquel does an amazing job at making you feel as comfortable as possible. CLS also provides Netflix to keep you entertained. Overall, the experience isn’t bad at all.
Back Fat — I made sure to work out so I could get the best results from the treatment. Just in two months you saw a very noticeable difference. Pictures are actually on the website if you want to check them out. So happy with my results so far and was told that I would continue to see more of a difference in another month.
Arms — Just got them done a month ago and already seeing the difference. They look so much more slim and defined than before. Can’t wait to see the before and after shots at the end of two to three months.
The numbness that comes with the treatments are probably the only thing that bugs a little but no pain and very minimal soreness. The soreness feels more like you just a killer work out which I personally feel is the best kind of soreness to feel.
Looking forward to going back for my full abdomen in a week! Thank you so much CLS!

During my consultation Jeanine explained how the tattoo removal process works very clearly. She was very straight forward about the potential risks of tattoo removal and what I could do to prevent them. By the end of the consult I felt confident that my tattoo could be removed and that she was the right person to have do it.
I had my first treatment this week on a large chest piece, it is painful so bless her for working so quickly!
To my surprise I can see a big difference with some of the colors already, the blue ink in particular. I know it will be along process but this is a great start!

Impeccable facility, Amazingly knowledgeable Friendly & Professional Staff that superceded any and all of my Expectations.
I am a complete Neophyte when it comes to cosmetic improvements: Botox, Juvaderm, Fillers, etc. To be quite honest, hearing horror stories about a «simple procedure» going completely awry haunted me. Until, my girlfriend shared her wonderful experiences at Celebrity Laser Spa with me.
She spoke so highly about Dr. Kaplan, Janine, and the Reception Staff that I booked my appointment.

After reading the reviews for this place, I decided to book a consultation regarding tattoo removal. From the moment I called I received excellent service up until the end of my consultation.
The office is in a great location in Brentwood. It was very clean and inviting. The front desk staff was very friendly and had me fill out some paperwork when i arrived, it was nothing long and drawn out which was nice. I was seen right away by Neekan and she was so professional and beyond helpful. She answered all my questions clearly and accurately. I appreciated the service she provided and felt very comfortable speaking with her about the tattoo removal process.
She showed me before and after pictures, explained pricing in detail and also explained the differences between the 2 lasers that they use. I decided to book my first session which is coming up mid May and i cant wait to get started.

Ok so this is the review for my first appointment. I am reviewing them for a Botox service and lipo consultation. Please check back for my review after my lipo procedure!
Botox: $ 11/​unit
I was insanely happy with this service! I had it done on my forehead and in between my brows. Normally, I’ve had places inject up to 30 units just on my upper forehead but Dr. Kaplan told me he wouldn’t need more than 12! Amazing! I got my entire forehead and in between brows done for only 20 units! I’ve been getting scammed for years apparently! It’s day 2 and the results are already amazing! (See pics)
Lipo consultation:
I was planning on having several areas sucked out but Dr. Kaplan told me no way, I don’t have any fat! While this was a huge compliment, I was a bit upset because I’m unhappy with my body right now. He was so honest with me I was really amazed. He wasn’t trying to take my money or suggest I do it like the others doctors I’ve been to. He was as genuine as it gets! I will be having my arms, thighs, and upper back done next month so stay tuned!
Staff: So nice! Shout out to Ashley for her professionalism in booking my appointment and taking care of me so quickly (also because she has an awesome name, haha!)

AMAZING! Dr Kaplan is amazing. I came in here for botox for the first time in October. I came back in March for a touch up and Juvederm for my laugh lines. I was originally going to get Voluma but he actually suggested Juvederm, (which was less than i was going to spend actually) I really appreciate his honesty in helping you achieve your goals.

I’ve been using this place for my laser tattoo removal. I’m not sure about what laser their using but it’s doing the job. After only two sessions my tattoo is completely faded. I’ve seen friends do six sessions (at other places) to get the results I got in two, no kidding. I am a happy camper! I will be sure to post my final picture.
I can only do Saturday appts so I do have to book aprox six weeks in advance. Not a deal breaker. They also call you the day before to remind you which is great for forgetful people such as myself.
