I really like this store! I think the staff is so fantastic and nice. They are always so helpful and have great tips. I like the prices at this store and they have a great variety. They even have the «fancier» dog foods as well. This location is bigger and has a little mini dog park right outside. Large selection of everything!

This place is great, found some good 20% off deals today and a membership gets you more coupons the more you shop there. They offer returns and exchanges with no questions asked, even for open treats. It’s really great because I can try things without the worry of being stuck with something that I thought my pet would like but actually doesn’t. I can try out some treats and see what he likes and if he doesn’t eat it then I can just go right back and get a different one!
Some pet fails I returned so far were cat shampoo and a cat harness, haha I should have known better but no biggie! Got some cat wipes and wand toys instead ;) oh yeah and they always offer to help carry heavy cat litter to the car. It’s just a nice extra touch of customer service.

My experiences here have been pretty mixed. I continue to go, because it’s walking distance from my house but other places are cheaper, definitely, and have better selections. Customer service has been mixed for me. I agree that the membership thing is awkward and checking out at this place is never easy and honestly usually there isn’t anyone at the check out and I have to wait for someone to come help me. I get so confused when buying treats — I’ll be in a hurry and grab something made in the USA and pretty expensive and I’ll get it home and it will be full of junk my dogs don’t need. They do have a schedule of inexpensive vaccinations for your pets, I haven’t taken advantage of that yet, but I plan to and will probably update my review to reflect my experience. Overall, I’ll probably keep going, I just don’t love it.

Only bummer is that while they are cheaper than the national stores (I always thought I was getting a deal here…), when I discovered Global Pet in Culver City it blew my mind how much I was overpaying here. Even with the coupons, Global is cheaper, and carries more varieties of food.
I support this store over all of the crappy national brand stores (like Petco), and they constantly allow adoption groups to use their store (which is awesome), and they do have a wide supply (non-​food) of pet stuff, so they get 4 stars. 5 if I didn’t know about Global (which is pretty much just for food).

One of the best local pet stores, the staff are super friendly. trainers are good, prices are reasonable.

I’ve been going here for a very long time with a several year break when my previous dog died. I used to love this place years ago and I still do today. Parking lot and a great size store with fantastic friendly staff and a little area for my dog when we come shopping.

Every time I go in this place, I grumble to myself about the whole «card club» experience and the dreaded «you know if you spent 10 more dollars you’d save 20%» thing.
So the other day Im in there waiting for my dose of mathematical abuse when I watch this cute old couple being totally flabbergasted by this whole membership/​club deal. It was just sad to watch really.
When I finally get to the counter I find out the card is no longer a thing (yay!) but it’s been replaced with some equally annoying «give us your info and everything is 10% off with a gift certificate for the next time at $ 75» pitch.
I’ll admit, I acted like a total diva and told the guy Im over it. Not my proudest moment though I did restock my stuff, if not a bit begrudgingly, but still…
My point is: Quit the club cards/​memberships/​whatever they are. You’re not Costco. Just sell some pet stuff at good prices and the rewards will be reaped! This whole marketing 101 approach is almost sadder than the reaction from the cute old couple, which was hauntingly sad. OK?
Lastly…I don’t need help to the car! Chill, babies…

Love the Centinela Ave. store, but if you need a cat flea bath, you’ll need to look elsewhere (they only do cat nail clippings; grooming services are mostly for dogs).
Luckily I called before I brought in my cat!

They don’t back up their products. Full of smiles and can I help yous when your buying all your food and supplies weekly for your growing puppy but when one of their leather leashes snaps after less than a month and your puppy’s safety is compromised — they don’t know you from Adam and won’t replace the defective leash or care enough to pursue the matter with the manufacturer.

Love this place! Great treats, accessories and other pet supplies! I got a ton of stuff for my new puppy and Stan informed about their training sessions and membership program. I will definitely be back.

I like coming here because its near by and they have everything I need. But sometimes staff won’t pay me any attention. Like one time I went and one of the employees was arguing about how I should switch to organic food, when my cat doesn’t like it. And he kept saying how I was feeding him trash food, and it was bad and I needed to stop or he would die. That wasn’t nice to say! Ughhhh but besides that they have good food there…

Last year I used to enjoy going to Centinela Feed, the staff was attentive, I would get freebies every visit, and they always had my cat’s particular brand of dry food, Natures Variety Limited Ingredient Turkey. On several occasions, if the food was not on the shelf I had to ask them if it was in the back. Sometimes it was, but if it wasn’t they would order it and I would have to come back. This happened several times not just with the dry food, but again with the freeze dry treats, then again with the litter. I would go to this store 3x in a week to get what I needed! Or sometimes 2 different pet stores in the same day if I knew I had to get the items during the hour I had the time.
So when the staff asks me if they can help me (a gazillion times) I know they can’t because the store does not have the supply in stock. The staff is so nice, but it is a bit aggravating when they can’t help me… unless they want to deliver the items to me!
I began to try other avenues to get my cat supplies. I tried some mail order websites but soon realized I can’t get cat litter with out getting charged outrageous shipping costs. So now I go to a different pet food chain on Sepulveda. Sometimes the same shortages happen but it’s usually after a weekend of shoppers and not because of poor stocking methods, and they have lower prices than Centinela. Regardless, going to ONE store ONE time is priceless to me anyway.

Really nice staff, security guard (??), welcoming store. Special events and adoptions on the weekends.
I’m just mad that they are quietly increasing the price of my dog food like crazy. It went from about $ 65 to $ 89 in just the last year. Unreal — Centinela Pet Feed is a part owner of Lotus pet food so they know exactly what they’re doing. My dog is a pretty picky eater, so I feel like they gave us the whole «first taste is free» drug dealer business model. Now that my dog is hooked on Lotus for life, I can’t really wean him off of it. Damn you Centinela Feed!
But the people are super super nice. It’s the business that is pissing me off!

I have a 17-​year-​old dog named, Tenderboy who has colitis. Patty helped me pick out some new dog food that hopefully his stomach will be able to digest. Between her and Veronica, they gave me samples of new food to try and I can’t wait to see which ones I’ll be going back to buy. These two women are extremely knowledgeable and helpful people! Thank you!

This negative review is for their grooming service only. It also could have been one single rogue employee so I don’t want to bash their whole company because 99% of the time I go there the service is great and they have great products.
I took my two Pomeranians in for a full haircut and grooming. This was on Saturday ⁵⁄₁₁ at 10am. When I got there the groomer was extremely rude to me and was «scolding» me on how I should be raising or holding my dogs. It wasn’t just suggestions. She was literally scoffing and scolding me. From that second I almost left. She was very crabby and rude.
Anyways I still decided to give them a try and walked in. Bad sign from the first second. I ask does she have a book of photos so I can find a picture that describes how I want the hair cut. «umm… no» is her response. Well ok… have you cut Pomeranians before? «yeah most owners have me shave them» Immediately I knew this was a red flag and this was a bad operation. 99% of Pomeranian owners DO NOT want their dog shaved because the hair doesn’t grow back the same ever. Secondly if I just wanted to shave them with a pair of clippers I would do it myself at home.
So I insist that I don’t want to shave them and I want a scissor cut just like their advertisements and brochures state. SCISSOR CUT. She keeps coaxing me and trying to «convince» me that we should shave the poms hair. I border line ask her «Do you not know how to cut their hair? If you don’t its completely fine but Ill take them elsewhere. She then starts saying «well scissor cutting is just so time consuming» WELL if you don’t have time to scissor cut which is the service I pam paying for because its too «time consuming» and you want to just shave them, I will go elsewhere. I grabbed my dogs and said very politely, ok thank you but Ill just take them somewhere else where they do scissor cuts.
She stops me and says ok ok ok, yeah we can do that. So I leave them. Literally as I’m driving home I have a bad bad bad feeling in my stomach that their hair is going to be butchered, or they are going to fall off that platform and break their leg or worse hit their head and die. You see, any reputable groomer has some sort of harness that holds the dog up in case they squirm and fall off the platform. This place didn’t and judging by how incompetent the groomer was I could see a situation where my dogs fall off.
LUCKILY!!! NOT JOKING ONE BIT!!! As I’m typing this witing 5 minutes I get a phone call from the groomer saying «umm… I actually thought about it… and I don’t think I can do what your asking for» I interrupt her and say Ill come pick up my dogs and I hang up on her.
When I get there the manager is very apologetic saying the groomer said she just could not do what I asked for. They made it sound like I asked for some extreme bogus request like to cut my dogs hair blindfolded or something. I simply asked for a STANDARD HAIRCUT that every groomer provides. This employee did not know how to cut a STANDARD HAIRCUT. THUS SHE SHOULD NOT BE A GROOMER. THUS SHE SHOULD BE FIRED!!!
Im very glad I got the phone call rather than her «experimenting» with my dogs… but overall dogs are lives just like humans. And you don’t put them at risk the way she did when your unskilled and unsure of yourself (the platform without a harness part)… Maybe the other groomers are good… but as long as that one I had is still employed there I will never go to Centinela Feed again.

I love this Centinela Feed & Pet location! We find all the supplies we need for our pet rabbit here at a reasonable price. The staff are always really helpful when it comes to finding what I need and getting in and out.
They even have an adoption center for rabbits on the weekend where you can bring your bunnies to get their nails trimmed, etc., for a donation.
Overall great selection and convenient location!

Are the cats chewing on your heads again? Don’t worry, they’re only grooming you, but just the same, it might be time to consider making another run to Centinela Feed & Pet Supplies to fill up on edibles for the furry ones to ensure the chewing remains playful and nothing more sinister or potentially painful later on should the food run out at home!
Centinela on Centinela has, without a doubt, the most overtly friendly staffers you’ll ever meet, as Unilocal’s Sharr K. can corroborate (see her review here:
). From entrance to the back of the store, you will be greeted by an extroverted bunch of pet loving enthusiasts, and constantly offered help if you so much as come within a ten foot radius of any one of them. This high level of service across the board is almost too much of a good thing, but don’t let it derail you from your purpose: to load up on just enough pet food so that you won’t have to deal with a supplies run for at least another month!
Several cases of premium canned cat food, one small dry food bag, a couple of treats, and $ 200 later, it hits us in the parking lot… We just spent $ 200 on our monthly supply of pet food…
(WARNING: 180 and full speed rant up ahead!) Why are our register totals at Centinela Feed & Pet Supplies so much higher for the same supplies lately? Whatever became of Centinela’s month-​long, percentage off entire purchase coupons? And where did those little monthly freebies for cat guardians go? All we get in our inboxes or mailbox now are CF Insider’s item-​specific coupons for dog food and other items we’d never buy, or worse, coupon-​less sale notices with absolutely no relevance to us at all!
It’s not that I mind change, but when the things that drew me to a store in the first place get taken away, I really have to question my loyalty… and look for more affordable and valuable alternatives the next time we need to load up on pet supplies. Sorry, Centinela, it’s not me, it’s you, at least until you bring back the monthly coupons and free goodies we used to love and rave about you!

Maybe I’m being a bit insensitive here. But the standard customer service here is so accomodating that it’s annoying. And this applies to almost every Centinela Feed & Pet Supplies that I’ve visited in the surrounding areas.
Whenever I shop here, I am a woman on a mission. I don’t have time to spare. I have a list of the items that I need to get, so my plan is… in and out.
If I’m lucky, I’ll get out of there in less than 10 mins. But rarely do I ever get to my intended aisle without being stopped by one of the customer service folks… either talking about the specials that’s going on, if I’m looking for something or if they can recommend item (s) that I’m looking for.
I can see how this can be helpful if there are new dog/​cat owners with no prior knowledge of having a pet. But for me, I know the supplies that I’m getting and educated about my dogs’s dietary needs. Sometimes they would just ask me to try something that I know my dogs will never eat.
Once in a while it’s cool or when I really need an advise (which is very rare)…other than that, the customer service is nearing harassment.
Can I just get my stuff and go home?
