Church of Scientology Internationl Wstrn Untd Stts

I came in to check things out. The building itself is beginning to look drab. I made it to a place to get a cup of coffee. The coffee wasn’t that great. Burnt. My cup had dirt on the lid and they wouldn’t replace it. Security kept like watching me. One of their scientology employees tried to get me over to the books to buy a lrh book. I told him I want interested, I just wanted coffee. He got so pissedhe asked me to leave.
I don’t recommend it due to the weird vibe.

This place is not only one of the safest places in town, but it also happens to be one of the biggest Scientology HQ’s on earth.
I’m a Scientologist. But this is Unilocal and I’m not here to tell you about how awesome being amongst other, on purpose & dedicated, Scientologists feels like or about any of the countless humanitarian efforts the church takes on on a daily basis.
But I am here to let you know about the current state of the facilities as of April 29^th, 2014.
So the entire base has undergone a remodel. New molding, new floors, fresh paint inside & out, etc.
The aesthetics of the place are immediately noticable throughout. It was OK before, but now it matches the beautiful Sunset face of the base, LA org, but it also feels more cohesive with some of the other details, such as the hand-​laid bricks of L. Ron Hubbard Way and the metal (at least I think they’re metal) moldings on the outside of AOLA.
The copper (If I remember correctly) lion is as majestic as ever and he adorns (and presumably guards) the main entrance of ASHO. ASHO has undergone quite the upgrade as well and is expertly brought into true, 21^st century style. You have to see it to believe it. Though it’s been remodeled, it remains familiar with lots of nice and vibrant details added all over the place along with a charming lobby to get you familiar with the church.
And then there is the atrium! (But hey, I don’t wanna spoil all the surprises!)
All in all, whether you’re a Scientologist, veteran or brand-​new, if you haven’t been here since the remodel, you gotta see the place. If you have seen it since then, then you have to bring someone who hasn’t seen the place!
And if you’re not a Scientologist or simply belong to another religious denomination, then this is a great place to relax, have a coffee & learn about another religion and the people that use it’s teachings every day. Who knows? Maybe you’ll find something useful.
Either way, everyone is welcome. Period.
Well, not people who want to see Scientology fail, I don’t think those people are very nice and what do you think they would do if we just let the haters roll in?
So for obvious reasons, they keep tight security, but it’s also what makes the place a safe haven for all.
To end off: We’re nice people who love other nice people. So swing by, enjoy the architecture and meet someone new!
