Citibank

I was using their personal banking services and working with Sonia Alvarado. She was so helpful and gave really good advice. She was extremely knowledgable about her products which I needed because I will be constantly going between here and London and needed info on how to do banking and credit card usage on two continents often. She was the best.

This branch has the worst customer service. I make a business deposit once a week. I usually have 10 – 30 checks. Aside from one or two very nice bank tellers, I get complaints when I request that they deposit each check. I ask this because there are discrepancies often and it makes for a nightmare when its time to reconcile at the end of the month. In the amount of time they spend complaining and eye rolling, half the deposits could have been entered. Then they told me to use the ATM instead. I tried it for three weeks and had problems each time. The machine read the amts wrong or just ate the whole batch. Maybe the employees are overworked or don’t get paid enough, but I will be trying out a different branch.

This locations is on the corner of Pico and Overland, which can get pretty congested and hard to get to during peak, rush hours.
The bank itself inside is pretty decently updated and the tellers are all very friendly. For something that is supposed to be quick (like going to the ATM or make a deposit), I find it difficult to come to this location.
If you have time on your hands, the lot next door is fine and they validate the 1^st 20 minutes for you, so be wary of that if you are coming in for a longer period of time.

I have been here several times because I am constantly loosing my debit card. The people who work here are always the nicest people in the world! I always dread coming and then after I leave I think why aren’t more people this nice at businesses? The parking is a bit of a pain, but you just have to remember to get your ticket validated and then its no big deal. Anyway, I wish I could have gotten everyone’s name but it would have been too many to remember. Will never go to a different Citibank!

I go here only to pay rent. Always get a warm greeting as soon as I walk in. if a window is not open and the lines are long someone always steps up to the window to make the line go faster. Complimentary coffee is offered which is always a plus :)

I come in on the 29^th of August to make my September mortgage payment
I was immediately greeted as I come in and a young nicest lady at the window took my payment and also advised me that since mortgage rates are at historically low that I should look into a refinance especially now that they have a full time loan officer and she took me to his desk.
The loan officer was very pleasant and professional, looked at my statement and immediately told me that I can save $ 31 000 in interest by refinancing I agreed and he started the process
What can I tell you a month letter I was signing my loan documents
The best loan experience I’ve ever had
I will definitely recommend this bank to everyone I know

Okay — the banking business is so competitive. These people at Citi have the world’s most perfect location. A huge corner lot with a huge parking lot in West LA. UNHEARD OF. No one has that. But they have the roads, alleyways and parking lot situated in such a way that you can only enter from ONE WAY. ONE WAY. Banks should be EASY to get into, not HARD. Hello!!! So, apparently «no one is home» at Citibank and I use Wells Fargo for ALL my other major banking because these idiots want me to have to go around the block 5 times to figure out how to get in. I think not.

Service is the best. They remodeled the inside and it looks so new and updated.

This building offers basic mid-​century modern aesthetics but needs a bit of tidying up.
What it does NOT need is that grotesque, giant advertisement on the north walll with huge prison yard lights that destroy the night sky for neighbors. I have reported this ad to the City Attorney’s office in hopes that an investigation will reveal that the huge advertisement is in fact illegal. I encourage others to call the city and report this outrageous sign.
What it also does NOT need is a bailout bank (citibank) as a tenant. There used to be a local bank in the building, and we need to go back to that. We need to get rid of these bailout banks for good. Personally, I decline to do business with them. I bank with LA-​based Center Bank, which is very well run and does not nickel and dime the customer to death with excessive fees the way the bailout banks (chase, citibank, BofA, wells fargo, etc) do. In fact, my accounts are free!

The building looks like the type of place that sorely needs asbestos removal, and I doubt the elevator is inspected in a timely manner. If I were Citibank I would question why the bldg. owner thought it would be a good idea to illegally place an enormous poster advertising Epson on the side of this building. Also I feel that the owner of this building has been and continues to be a bad neighbor by making poor business decisions like agreeing to whore out his building for advertising that does not even relate to the tenants of his building. Of course maybe he doesn’t know much about being a good neighbor as he probably doesn’t have to deal much with his fellow neighbors while he’s at his big house on Bristol Circle in Brentwood.
