Pretty nice place. The beer was on point and the chicken, even better! We got some $ 3 bucks budwiesers and listen to some kickin tunes and after two rounds, we ordered. The chicken was nice, crispy, juicy and tasty. Nice and hit too! At first, I was clowning the others patrons for eating the chicken with a fork, lol. It was definitely hoy and juicy and you had to use the fork to pull apart the nice crispy skin to dig in. It was worth eating light for lunch and worth the drive. Beers for $ 3bucks, you cannot beat that with a bat! The service was on point too. You gotta order at the bar and they give you a number and they bring your grub to your table. We chopped it up the staff for a minute and talked about how the neighborhood was changing. And how back in the days you could possibly get got! The neighborhood is substaining gentrification, somewhat. But what neighborhood isnt getting gentrified. Give them a try if you’re in the mood for chicken and beer. They dont serve hard liquor, only beer and wine. Good spot and good crowd.

A genuine oasis of great food and drinks in a literal desert of culinary options. May this place continue to flourish and eventually prosper. THANKYOU, Crawford’s!

Came here last weekend with some friends for beer and chicken. The place is smaller than it looked in the photos – just three or four booths(mainly occupied by people waiting for friends, which was kind of annoying) and maybe a dozen stools at the bar. There is a pool table with two small, tall tables off to the side. Parking was difficult so I would definitely suggest Über. So small space aside, we got cozy at the bar and had a great time. They had a small but decent selection of beer covering a multitude of price points and their chicken($ 10 for 3 big pieces plus a cup of slaw or baked beans) was great. It had a ton of very crunchy skin. Maybe could have used a tiny dash of seasoning or salt, but I would take slightly under-seasoned, crunchy chicken over too salty chicken any day. It came out piping hot and everyone in our group loved it. It would be perfect if they had biscuits! The two people running the bar that night(owners or managers? Not sure) were incredibly friendly without seeming fake. Will definitely be back. Nice to have a bar like that in the Koreantown/Westlake area.

This place is really a breath of fresh air. No pretension here, just a really solid bar. Super cold beer at amazing prices, mixed with solid people and some of the best fried chicken around, makes for an outstanding experience. It reminds me of all the rad Midwestern neighborhood bars that I hold so dear. There’s a lot of old signage from some of my favorite shit beer brands. The blatz lighted sign over the pool table is something to behold. Shlitz tall cans and Oly are always a welcome sight. I’ve never been a huge fan of bud, but they have it on tap for $ 3. And, It’s served in a super frosty mug. The hot chicken is off the chain. Breast and a leg, with a side of beans or coleslaw, for $ 10 is an amazing deal. The bartenders are really nice and super attentive. It’s just an all around solid bar, so get down there while the getting’s good.

F-f-f-f-f-f-f-f##king F-f-f-f-f-fried Ch-ch-ch-chicken baby! I give this place ten out of ten sicky wolf tats. I love the ambience, the food, and the ice ice baby budweiser babies. Beans and coleslaws all mofoing day. Get me some. They have buck hunter and pool to pass the time, whilst I drink that iceed beer! The two bartenders I’ve met Dave«the Bear» Abramohovic and Matt«the Squirrell» Dittmonovic are both sicky dudes, with lots of classic knowledge to spread. Two classic dudes! Classic.

Crawford’s is a gem! Late last month I hosted my last minute birthday party of around 40 people at Crawford’s. I called the day ahead and informed them that I would be bringing a rather large party. They had not done buy-outs in the past so they assured me that they would accommodate the large group, even on such short notice. Accomodate is an understatement. They made sure that my party felt welcomed, full, and satiated the entire evening — doing routine check-ups to see if we needed any extra chicken or beer/wine. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff. And then, of course, the chicken is next level. Orgasmic, really. Everyone should make Crawford’s their go-to.

Hungry after a concert at the Bootleg, we saw fried chicken and had to stop in. After confirming they use canola oil to fry the chicken(the boyfriend is allergic to peanuts) we started to order our beers. Before we could ask about drinks the bartender interrupted us because there were only 2 orders of fried chicken left, and then ran off to secure them for us. He grabbed each of us a different side and then ran back again to dip them in their hot chili oil sauce. Hot chicken was definitely the way to go. It was so tender and crispy, and the heat level was nice. I’d probably ask them to turn it up a little if possible next time. The baked beans weren’t too sweet and the coleslaw wasn’t too mayonnaisey. And they top it off with a pickle! Service was great, the vibe was chill, and the food was delicious! I’ll definitely be coming back.

For a person who can find something to hate in anything, it’s hard for me to hate Crawfords. Without hating myself for using this phrase, its a legit dive bar with really fucking good fried chicken and no pretentiousness. It’s small, its hip, it’s real — I almost don’t want to recommend friends because I want to be able to walk in and eat but I also think the owners deserve the credit. Who doesn’t want a nice dark bar with an unassuming outside that serves something so crispy and delicious. Don’t plan on doing much after — activity and life, in general, will be hard to continue on with. Just keep crushing bud heavy’s at the bar and let your body succumb to forever greasy fingers. Also — not that people normally write home about coleslaw — the coleslaw is pretty bomb. Not too mayo heavy. You ever see those memes(can I link? ) I’m usually this person — but this time, not so much. Get the coleslaw, its a nice fresh way to cut through the grease. Heaven is a cheap beer and fried chicken — Crawfords will surely bring you to your knees.

Can’t explain it, but I like dive bars. I’m sure some would disagree, however, I’m classifying Crawford’s as such. Either way, I like this place. Except that parking sucks! Welcome to LA … Anyway Service was awesome. The bartender was attentive, friendly and all around, pretty cool. Engaged with everyone, even those sitting in the booths. Decent selection of adult beverages with great Happy Hour prices. Food is served — truck is parked right in front. Food can be brought in too. Tommy’s is across the street while Taco Bell is right next door. Don’t park in their lot though. There’s a pool table and one video game. I believe it was a hunting game to go with all the hunting photos and props around the bar. Cool place. I’ll be back again. If I ever find parking.

Crawford’s reminds me of a down home road house somewhere within the Alabama-Mississippi-Louisiana-East Texas deep South where most of the food is fried, and fried battered Okra is considered a healthy vegetable dish. The interior is part hunting lodge w/a big deer head & part exhibition of his Southern roots w/pictures of many food establishments that may go back to North Carolina, the state of his grandparents. It is a homage redolent with a «country» feel and a languid, friendliness that reeks of the south of the Mason-Dixon line. However, don’t let that fool you none cuz Matt, one of the partners of Crawford’s, is sharp as a tack, knowledgeable about food & drink way beyond his years. He could be a waiter in some of the tres hauts restaurants in our fair city such as Patina, Providence, etc. with his suave, sophisticated yet friendly hospitable approach that seems to hark back to some bygone days of Southern hospitality & grace. Presently the kitchen at Crawford’s is in renovation, & the owner of Dante’s Café graciously afforded the use of a new humongous catering truck to Crawford’s so that they can continue to serve their southern fried chicken at the bar. Heart warming story of great generosity in our often anonymous city of the angels. Just for that I will have to try out Dante’s Café to show that a kind deed indeed does not go unrecognized. Buying a taco at Dante’s food truck before entering Crawford’s would be a kind gesture. It seems to me that the forte of Crawford’s is its collection of beers, fried chicken, & their take on baked beans that shows a rather chefly hand. 1) Cezanne: an orange scented pale ale that has tastes of rosemary, lemon infused into the brew. It is initially dry on the tongue that gradually morphs into an herbal sweetness. Lots of hops like an IPA so there is a pleasant, refreshing bitterness… all the more to cut through the oiliness & the spicy piquancy of the fried chicken. The finish is almost that of orange peel or Meyers lemon for a citrusy feel. 2) This Southern Fried Chicken, according to Matt, is more in the style of a southern Mississippi style which incorporates a hot sauce with a good kick into the well fried crispy, crunchy, dense yet airy batter. The chicken itself has been brined for a day & marinated in buttermilk so the meat stays moist, soft, luscious even the breast like the way they do it at the Park Bench Café in Altadena which is run by African Americans, who are often masters of Southern Cooking. My favorite Southern style fried chicken is Danny’s in Woodville, MS where they used Cajun spices such as garlic, black pepper, chiles & sweet spices such as rosemary, all spice, cloves for an intense incense-like bouquet to their chicken, but the chicken at Crawford’s is pretty damn good especially if you want it to absorb too much alcohol imbibed during your stay. 3) For me, mayonnaise based coleslaw has never been my favorite. The sweet refreshing vinegar based slaw w/nutty peanuts at Tam O’Shanter is exemplary. The mayonnaise based cole slaw at Crawford is too rich for me since it is also oil based even though a bit of dill pickle vinegar juice was added as an herbal gastrique. Fried chicken & oily coleslaw don’t provide for me a respite from all the unctuous oiliness. Vinegar based slaw would have provided a bracing respite. However, I realize this is a matter of taste. Châcun a son goût. A slice of garlicky dill pickle for those who like mushy yet chewy cucumber. 4) The baked beans here are rather cultured in its approach. The beans are not soggy & mushy, but a delightful al dente. The meat of the bean is soft yet firm, but the skin has a «snap». Matt mentioned that that is so since they make the beans fresh every day instead of leaving them to mush out & serve the next day. It is fortified w/Coca or Pepsi Cola for a mellow yet touch of acidity. Caramelized onions add a smoky, funkiness, but the genius is adding raw onions toward the end to add a bit of textural crunch & a subtle fresh sulfur sharpness to counter the sweetness of the cola. I paired the beans to the acidic carbon dioxide bubble laden Prosecco & found a pleasant counter balance between the two since the ‘pop wine’ of the Prosecco & the cola had resonance. Crawford’s, a Southern stop in an improbable section of Los Angeles. That is what makes Los Angeles a great urban conglomeration w/uncommon pockets of the unexpected. 4 Unilocal stars for good food, good beer, & a good place to hang out, Y’all.

Super cool, awesome place! A very comfortable and enjoyable place to hang out and have some drinks. The décor is really cool. I haven’t tried the chicken yet but I have only heard good things about it. I am probably going to try it out this week, so I will add to my review a little later about the chicken. All the bartenders are super cool and friendly. They have a good selection of beers. It’s a really cool place to hang out. It’s a good mixed, eclectic crowd. It’s the kind of place you want to come back to over and over again. It’s one of those go-to places. Great for hanging out with friends. Almost forgot to mention the ice cold beer in frosty glass mugs! Mouth watering! Update 5÷10÷16, I tried the fried chicken. It’s awesome! So good! It’d be very difficult to find better Fried Chicken anywhere around. I wouldn’t know where to go. You have to try it, it is delicious!

Have visited here twice now. I’m a big fan. $ 3 drafts of Budweiser — $ 5 Shiner Bock — but they also have some great beers like delirium($ 9) and IPAs. I had the hot chicken dinner w/baked beans that was also tasty($ 10) Friendly staff and bartenders, excited to see this place succeed in the area as a neighborhood bar.

Cozy ambience, cold beer, fried chicken. The fucking chicken. So damn good. I’m sitting in bed and I’m up craving that shit. The hot chicken isn’t that spicy but I’m cool with that. It’s got enough kick and it’s delicious! The white bread catches all the spice and juices and I know I shouldn’t eat that but I do and it’s sublime. They have beer and wine and even then you don’t need the wine. Real simple. Don’t change anything. Just tell me when you get that onion dip back!

I was looking for new places to try out and this place popped up with its’ 5 stars and people raving about the fried chicken. Parked across the street and walked into the very unassuming bar. Ordered the fried chicken. They don’t have the option of choosing white or dark anymore. Apparently, the owner(?) was saying that they would be left with just dark meat at the end of the day. I don’t understand people because dark meat is so much tastier than white meat! Anyways. also had some beer. After not having beer in a while, it was so refreshing to drink an ice cold beer out of a frosted mug. The chicken came out soon after. I got the spicy chicken and my wife got the regular one. Both came out piping hot and fresh. Both came out with thighs and wings, which I love. Both were so delicious. The spicy one. I might have to say that it is one of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Definitely better than Honey’s Kettle and better than fresh spicy Popeye’s chicken(the standard for me for spicy battered chicken). Can’t compare it to Kyochon because they are different kinds of fried chicken. This place is a definite winner. Definitely deserves the 5 stars. Plus, the owners were pretty cool and laidback and engaging with the customers. Will be back! Just hope this place doesn’t blow up too much!

How long can a place like this stay this good. It’s in Los Angeles. Easy parking lot across the street. Open late. The crowd is made up of anybodys. Ice Cold frosty beers. Actual nice operators. Pinnacle Fried Chickens. Hot Sauce. Order at the bar. Pool table. Shooting game. Not too crowded when you don’t want it to be. Nice front door. The right price. The place looks good. Does its job well. I hope it last for a while.

Location — Just west of Beverly and Rampart. Located diagonally opposite of the Original Tommy’s Burger. Between Taco Bell and Smart & Final is a simple brick building with the words fried chicken and ice cold beer written in bold white letters. The door is ajar welcoming you in. Parking — No parking lot. Street parking is around. Don’t park at Taco Bell. There is a parking lot across the street that belongs to Tommy’s. No reports of trouble. But, park at your own risk. Staff — Some of the nicest folks you will ever meet. They will welcome you and make feel at home Food — FRIEDCHICKEN… one of the best I ever had. Brined for a day and made to order so takes at least 15 minutes. Mixed portions of white and dark meat served Regular or Spicy With a crisp, crunchy crust that has melded with the skin and tender juicy meat inside, I cannot recall having any better. Comes with cole slaw or beans — fresh and made from scratch. The kitchen is currently being renovated. But, the Dante’s food truck parked outside provides the goods. Order at the bar and they will give you a number and bring you your food. Beverages — Beer and wine. Always on tap Budweiser $ 3 and two other taps that rotate various interesting brews $ 6 – 8(currently a Saison and Highland IPA). Cold chilled mugs for the drafts are a nice touch. Other beers in cans and bottles $ 4 – 9 from PBR to Delerium Tremens. Prices — Great Deal. Chicken and Bud is $ 13. That includes the tax. Yes they have calculated tax into the price of items. How cool is that? Overall — Awesome Fried Chicken. Comfortable Spot. Cool owners. The word is out and people are coming. Crawford’s Update A small miracle happened. The nice people at Dante’s Café allowed Crawford’s to use their food truck to continue food service until their kitchen reopens. So you will see the truck parked in front of Crawford’s and the fried chicken continues. Order at the bar and they will bring it in when ready. The menu has been simplified for the time being. Much thanks to Dante’s Café a neighbor of Crawford’s Interesting facts — Crawford’s is named in memory of one of the partner’s mother. Much of the interesting décor belonged to a partner’s grandfather and came all the way from North Carolina. In a very short period of time, Crawford’s has become a welcome gathering place. Professionals, blue color workers and hipster can all live in harmony while enjoying the fried chicken, cold beer, a game of pool and friendly conversation. Am I a friend who is writing a great review? YES, I have been a friend since the first day I walked into this fine establishment

Man! This place is the business on so many levels! I guess this stretch of Beverly Blvd has yet to be swept up by the currents of gentrification that have been pounding Echo Park for the last decade. So it was time for Linda’s place to close up shop and make way for some monumentally overpriced beer and wine gastropub with a menu full of $ 7 IPAs and artisan donuts, right? WRONG. What struck me first about this place is how affordable and welcoming it is, for EVERYONE — not just hipsters or young creative types with money. They still have a pool table, the still have affordable beers(frigging $ 3 bud lights, fancy beers for $ 5 and some for less) and the old Linda’s regulars still come here! It always bums me out when«progress» squeezes out the people who’ve lived in the neighborhood long before you have. Crawford’s is not just for hipsters. It is for everyone. What struck me next is how unbelievably delicious that fried chicken is. I don’t often go out of my way to order fried chicken but holy crap, what they’ve got going here is perfect — hot, crispy, flavorful, served with hot sauces that are accurate for the dish(Louisiana, Crystal) and sides that are just as good. I couldn’t pick between the beans and the cole slaw, so I ordered both. Not really sure where«hot chicken» has been all my life, but I guess it showed up right on time. For $ 9, you get two big pieces of chicken and one side, and the sizes aren’t skimpy, either. Most people would probably have leftovers, but the day I came here I’d ridden my bike to work and then taken a dance class, so I guess I was more of a piglet than usual. Can’t wait to come back!

Money. No you won’t be shelling out major dough at Crawford’s, but you will feel enriched from your night at Crawford’s. It dawned on me while munching on fried chicken and sipping on a cold glass of pale ale that I really love Crawford’s. I’m so delighted that this moved into my neighborhood and will become my new go to local watering hole. Linda’s, the former haunt, was a lovely local watering hole, but Crawford’s has preserved the casual, neighborhood vibe, while elevating the joint a few notches where it counts. The interior is welcoming with a pool table, a duck hunt video game, three large booths, decent size bar. I dig the canoe over the bar strung up with old school lights. It reminded me so much of being in Austin. It’s a place where you can feel comfortable coming as you are. If you love fried chicken as much as I do, then you must come to Crawford’s for the fried chicken alone. It is one of the best fried chicken I’ve tried in LA. For $ 9, you get two pieces of white or dark meat chicken with one side. The breading was crisp and had a nice crunch. Chicken was well flavored and juicy. The baked beans and coleslaw sides were spot on as well. I found myself craving another basket of fried chicken goodness. Washed down with many of their fairly priced beer — $ 4-$ 7 — you really cannot go wrong. Service was friendly and helpful as well. This is a great neighborhood bar and one that I might even argue could be worth driving a little out of your way to come to. There isn’t much else in the neighborhood, but if you have a case of the munchies and the fried chicken doesn’t do it for you, Taco Bell is next door and Tommy’s is across the street. Whether you’re swinging by for some fried chicken and a beer or this is the last stop for a nightcap, Crawford’s is your new local bar. Dustin of L&E, Bar Covell, etc. has got the right touch — I love every single of his creations including this latest one. Go check it out before it gets too discovered!
