Culinary Delight Catering

Emma and her team did an amazing job for our backyard party! They got started on a hot summer LA afternoon and, from a tiny kitchen, delivered an incredible selection of comfort foods, small-​bite style! Sliders, quiches, killer mac n cheese! Everything was delicious! And we had plenty of leftovers for brunch the next morning! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This many Unilocal reviews couldn’t be wrong. I hired Culinary Delight to cater an event at my house after reading excellent review after excellent review here.
And those reviews were well-​deserved indeed. Emma and her staff showed up 30 minutes early. They set everything up. The food was awesome and plentiful and well put together. The staff went out of their way to keep the party flowing. And as everyone has said, they are so nice to work with. Emma made it so easy to plan this event, and so easy to focus on my guests once it was going on.

I was unable to find a caterer that was willing to work within the time and budget constraints I had for this event which lead me to Unilocal.I called CDC and Mrs. Tate and her staff where extremely helpful and accommodating. I was more than pleased with the presentation of the food and most importantly the taste. We stayed in constant communication and everything was delivered surpassed my expectations. I got to look like the hero when all I did was call Culinary Delight. =)
The experience was so great that I am now using CDC for my upcoming baby shower and am excited to see what she comes up with for my Dr. Seuss theme (yes, I have requested a green eggs and ham dish). This team rocks and I am glad that I have another small business catering company that I can add to the top of my rolodex.

I came across Culinary Delight Catering on Unilocal and after seeing so many high reviews I was thinking «Hmm, this might be too good to be true» but for once it’s not! I was the party planner for my friend’s garden party in LA and of course the budget was an issue (isn’t it always) so we had to take that into consideration. Emma worked with us to find a menu that would make the most of our budget. At the day of the party everyone was raving about everything and how delicious it was.
But I do have to say, as good as the food and service was, that wasn’t the best part of the experience for me. On the day of the party everything was running late and someone who was supposed to come early to help and go pick up the catering from Emma bailed, leaving me to go do it at the last minute. Well, with rushing and LA traffic and everything let’s just say I didn’t arrive in exactly a ‘calm’ demeanor. Emma stopped me in my tracks right away and said «Calm down. Breathe. It is what it is and being short on time is out of your control right now.»
She said everything would work out and you know what? It did! That was an unexpected, yet welcome lesson in just calming down in the midst of a «crisis» and putting things into perspective. So, you see, with Culinary Delight you get more than just great food, you also get wonderful advice! Call Emma for your next event… you’ll be happy you did :)

Left a review on GooglePlus for Ms. Emma, and I didn’t realize that I didn’t do one here. We are returning customers for Culinary Delight Catering. She first catered the appetizers and cupcakes for my wedding celebration and this time it was for my daughters (and my) birthday. Emma is a pleasure to work with. This is a family owned business and you get top notch quality with a personal touch. She will work with you on what’s in season and what makes sense, and you really get a sense that she cares ALOT about the quality of her food and serving it how it will be best enjoyed.
You definitely don’t need to worry about planning for too little food because you get a TON of food and will have leftovers (which is a good thing!). So, all those people who didn’t RSVP and still show up will have food to eat, no stress :)
We also love that she’s less than a mile from us. Love supporting families in our neighborhood and we don’t have to go further out for great food.

I was having an event at work an needed catering. I wanted something really good and a co-​worker of mines suggested we contact Emma. Good thing we did. Emma and her staff are great! They accomodated every need that I had as we have some ppl that are gluten free. Emma’s food is phenomenal!!! Everything is fresh and of great quailty. Her service is top notch and actually I am getting ready to use her services again for another work event I am planning. Can’t wait to taste her food again!

Emma made my baby shower a wonderful event. She had excellent communication with us. She wanted to make sure that everything I wanted was done. Fabulous customer service and the caterers really helped add that extra touch. The food was fantastic and we had so much leftover but people made sure to take it home. Everyone raved about how wonderful the displays were and how lovely everything looked. I hope that I can contract her in the future.

I found Emma and her company off of Unilocal and decided to run with it since my fiancé and I were looking for a catering company for our engagement party. I can absolutely say that I am so, so, SO incredibly glad I came across her Unilocal page!
At the beginning of March, I gave her a call and told her what I wanted to do. I wanted appetizers, a dinner buffet and a dessert bar for around 70 people. Emma and her team coordinated with me up until our party (mid April) to make sure everything was absolutely perfect. Before our event, we discussed my budget, what I was able to get within what I could pay for, what kind of food to have, and basically everything I needed to know in order to make the night go smoothly. They were so helpful and accommodating with everything; my expectations were very much exceeded!
On the evening of the event, Emma and her team came over in the late afternoon to set everything up. They started cooking, setting everything up, setting the bar up, and making sure that everything looked good. As someone who often hosts parties, I really didn’t have to do anything because I knew that they had everything under control!
And then there’s the food… omg the food was SO good. The mac and cheese and the braised tri-​tip beef were EXCELLENT… and the desserts. I probably ate half of the dessert bar LOL
During the party, they were cleaning, getting people drinks, setting food out, and cleaned and packed everything up once they were done. The entire next week, my fiancé and I were getting complements left and right about everything! The food, the service, the accommodations; I couldn’t have asked for anything else!
Bottom line is, if you’re hosting a party or any type of event and want suburb service and food and someone super easy to work with, I HIGHLY recommend you go with Culinary Delight Catering!!! =)

These are THE BEST CUPCAKES that I’ve ever had, ever. We ordered some for a party and they were a huge hit. Everyone was asking where we ordered them from. The edible glitter frosting was a lovely touch, and Emma is very nice and professional :)

YOU DO NOT NEED TO LOOK ANY FURTHER! CULINARY DELIGHT CATERING IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS! Emma and Ron are FANTASTIC as they just catered a huge casino night fundraiser for our college program. Emma was outstanding as she worked with our budget, menu ideas, and scheduling perfectly. She was so kind and patient as well as on top of all the «items» I couldn’t think of. Additionally, Ron delivered all the food and was such a gentlemen. The food was outstanding! Prepared well, delivered with all the dishes and utensils needed and it was plenty for our group. I cannot thank them enough and recommend further. You WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! CALL EMMA TODAY!

I attended a friends little girls Mexican theme party and the Mexican food was delicious and it was really decorated cute and they were cooking at the party and taking orders, they had 2 chefs and the line moved quickly.
Everyone was very helpful and friendly.
One of the best kids parties I have attended.
They had a lot of little kids foods and little dishes.
The Mexican flag jello was a big, big hit with the kids!
I recommend them to my friend and I will continue to recommend them!

I highly recommend Culinary Delight’s Catering services. They catered a huge promotional party for our company and the service provided was stupendous, truly professional. I admire them for serving my guest with quality from start to finish. The food was presented beautifully, the servers were neat, and they kept all area clean. The prices were affordable, and better than their competitors. The team had good business ethics, worked hard, and I am thankful for the service. Thanks to the owner and the entire Culinary Delight team! I will have them cater the next party I have!

Sorry this review took me so long to write, but Culinary Delights Catered a Holiday Party for my Ski Club back in December. Working with Emma was really great. The Food was Very Good and Plentiful. The guys arrived with delivery right on time and the price was right where we need it to be for our budget. I will totally use Culinary Delight Catering again for future events!

Cost was an issue so they worked with us to keep it affordable, and the food was out of this world! Not only that, they hooked us up with the rentals place for our backyard tent and took care of everything. These guys are so great and so hands-​on, it’s hard to see how anyone else could even could close. Five stars only because we can’t give them ten. If only they’d open a restaurant! Ms. Emma is everything everyone here says and more! She and Ron are kind, generous, hilarious, talented, honest and professional in every way. On top of that, they are good people— in a town (and industry) where good people are few and far between.
I travel a lot for work and knew that during the months leading up to my wedding, I’d be traveling extensively, both in and out of the country. Ms. Emma took the «what would I do for my daughter?» approach and handled things with such wisdom and care— by the time I was back and ready to «do this thing,» she was prepared with the best of the best options to make final decisions on.
My wedding planner found Ms. Emma randomly online and from the first conversation, I knew they were «the one.» She served as a liaison between the rental company (JC Rental) and us, went out of her way numerous times to save us money, gave priceless advice (that only comes from experience), checked in to make sure I wasn’t losing my mind and then talked me out of tree when I was, worked with our budget (an understatement) and makes absolutely phenomenal food.
Ms. Emma and Mr. Ron are blessings, saints, rockstars and wonderful people… True one-​of-​a-​kind GEMS!!!

WOW… I’m not the first person to exclaim this… but it is worth repeating! Emma’s cakes are the best we’ve ever tasted. My husband is not a big dessert eater but he does love a fluffy yellow cake with milk chocolate frosting! For his birthday I knew just what to do! From the moment I spoke with Emma… I knew it was going to be terrific and it was. Absolutely delicious… left-​overs were sent to work with my husband because if they stayed in the house I would have eaten them all myself!
Emma was easy to work with and the cake arrived on time (even though I missed the delivery time… they didn’t give up and they made sure my cake was delivered to an alternate location. I called Emma the next morning and shared our enthusiasm for her delicious baking and promised to pass on my 5 star– 2 thumbs up recommendation. Culinary Delight Catering is THE place to go.

WOW! What more can I say! This is by far the best catering service I have ever work with!
Emma, the owner of the catering service and chef was an absolute pleasure to work with. She is extremely knowledgeable, has been in the business over 30 years and knows what she’s doing. I found them on Unilocal and was impressed by their very high reviews. Now I understand that people are not exaggerating with her service. I first contacted Emma about 3 weeks before my event. We reserved a date and went over menu choices. Given the large amount of people (120), I went for the budget menu of appetizers. $ 10 per person, a complete bargain for such high quality food. They were able to set me up with tables, high boys, chairs and a dessert stand. I’ll review the different aspects of my event in details below.
FOOD: All from the budget menu ($ 10 per person)
1) BBQ beef tri-​tip sliders (see photo): These were absolutely DELICIOUS! Moist beef, great BBQ flavor. I really enjoyed the buns they came with as well. We had so many left over that I’ve been eating them for days. Very filling.
2) Mini Deep dish pizza (see photo): Bite sized cheese (vegetarian) and peperoni pizzas. Delicious, baked to perfection.
3) Caprice Salad: The mozzarella was so soft and Moist, very flavorful. The tomatoes were ripe and I really liked the basil, salt and olive oil flavoring.
4) Meatball lollipops: These were delicious! The meatballs were tender, juicy and had a great teriyaki flavor.
5) Stuffed Portobello mushroom caps (see photo): This was another vegetarian option, the mushrooms were very fresh, the filling was a spinach cheese mix, really tasty.
6) Grilled Thai chicken Salad (see photo): Grilled chicken breast on fresh lettuce, crispy noodles with a chili Thai dressing. Absolutely fabulous.
7) Mini mac and cheese (see photo): This was a hit! It was so cheesy and had sun dried tomato pieces, REALLY GOOD!
8) Chicken Satay: Grilled chicken breast with chives and a savory sauce. Really good.
Emma prepared some of the food on site, fresh as can be! We had our own desserts that a friend baked for us, but Emma and her staff set them up for us for no charge!
SET UP:
I didn’t have to do a thing! Emma arranged table and chair rentals from JC rentals. She arranged for them to drop off the tables before the event and pick them up after. Emma let us choose a theme (I chose blue and gold for my Alma matter) and prepared fresh flower as well. We had five large tables, 8 high boys and a few chairs. The high light of the night was the bar, which had a light-​up counter with changing colors, my guests lover it!
SERVICE:
The servers and bartender were all amazing. Everyone was so nice, even Emma was there most of the night to ensure that things went smoothly. The bartender was very knowledgeable. I purchased my own wine and liquor and the bar tender knew exactly what to do, very classy. The serves passed around appetizers throughout the event. They set up everything, and took things down and cleaned. It allowed me to be a guest at my own party, which was great.

Cost: 5+. VERY affordable. They also can prepare fancier things, and I will definitely use them for my engagement party!
