D Pet Hotels Hollywood

Been taking my dog hear for the past 2 years. He seems to enjoy his trips here and the staff know my dog by name which makes for really easy in and outs.
They have 2 large playpens and are very well staffed. This place is definitely the place to take your pet in West Hollywood.

This review is long overdue as my dog has been going to D for over a year BUT it is the most awesome place with the best staff. I’ve got a pit mix with a ton of energy and a big personality and the staff loves him like he’s their own. Kenny, Andrea and Alexis are especially incredible but the entire staff is filled with kind, fun, caring and funny people who genuinely love animals. Despite there being a ton of dogs there each day they always seem to know exactly what my individual dog has been up to. I leave my very very loved (read: spoiled) dog there every time knowing he’s going to be taken care of, loved and watched after closely. Can’t recommend it more!

My dogs stay here very often, as my husband and I travel quite frequently. This is such a wonderful place — the staff is amazing, the facility is clean and very well kept and all of the dogs always seem exceptionally happy! I have 2 dogs — a small terrier and a larger border collie/​lab mix. Both dogs tend to be a little nervous around other dogs on a daily basis, however at the D Pet Hotel, they play and seem to make friends with all of the other pups (which makes me so happy). Their prices are also very reasonable — especially for the great service they provide. I hate leaving my pups behind, but I can rest easy knowing they’re in GREAT hands when I do. We’ve been using this hotel for years now and have never had a problem or incident. I would HIGHLY recommend leaving your dogs here. I also recommend having your dog bathe before pickup (even if your dog is only there for a few days). They can get a little stinky :) So happy to have this wonderful place so close to my home!

D Pet Hotels Hollywood is, without question, the best spot for daycare, boarding and grooming in Los Angeles. I am always met by their kind, knowledgeable and animal loving staff at the door, and feel confident that my dog is in the best hands. When I first started taking my Italian Greyhound to D, he was very timid, as is typical of his breed. His temperament dramatically changed within his first few stays, and he now plays with the other dogs and is completely at ease with the staff. I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful the staff is-​the quality of care and supervision the dogs receive is exceptional. Between the accommodations and available services, I’m jealous I don’t get to stay overnight! The owners are often onsite, and are always friendly and helpful. These people love your dogs as much as you do-​I trust them completely and can’t recommend them highly enough.

Not happy!!! Picked up my baby and he was bleeding from top of his nose. I didn’t drop him off like the way I found him. I will never ever bring him here again. So unhappy !!! On top of that my baby looks sad!!! Please don’t leave your pet here!

It was definitely nice inside… very clean… friendly staff. They even send pictures of your pet while you are away. However after a 4 day stay, I took my dog home and noticed she was sneezing and had a runny nose. I took her to the vet and it was indeed KENNEL COUGH! Which confirms that the building is not ventilated, therefore the bacteria that causes kennel cough is constantly being recycled in the air. My dog had been vaccinated for this a few months ago however different strains of the virus can still infect the dog. I honestly did not expect this since I paid a pretty penny for their services. Nice establishment but if you don’t want to deal with a vet bill afterward, just do some more searching for another place.

Yes. D pet is not friendly to your pocket book. However, definitely worth every penny. My sweet boy Lucky is a regular. He’s been a regular since 4^th of July weekend. We went out of town for the holiday and after searching high and low we decided to board Our pitbull Lucky and our chihuahua Minky. We found many places that offered boarding for far less (I mean by like 50%) but Lucky was on medication and Minky is people shy (and nervous, needs special attention). Also, d pets offers different room options. Clearly our dogs are spoiled and we needed a bedroom for them. With a bed and a TV. I was very nervous and anxious throughout our whole trip because it was my first time being away from them for so long (it was just a few days). But they sent me pictures and they were so very kind to me when I called to check in on them.
Look, at the end of the day it’s your dog. I will tell you the number one reason we are loyal to d pets is because of their SUPER STAFF. This staff TRULY LOVES these dogs. I suggest you take a minute to get to know them because at the end of the day they are people. They definitely don’t get paid enough for what they go through. They always put the dogs before themselves. They are amazing. How about next time or the first time you go, you stop to say hello to them and thank them for their work. They do it because they love it because they DEFINITELY DO NOT get paid enough. #ilovedpets

There seems to be luxury pet «hotels» popping up on almost every corner these days. As a luxury pet owner… there really is nothing too good for my doggies. I have been a client of D Pet Hotel for many years. It really boils down to trust. I am sure the amenities are very similar to those other hotel options — but I KNOW these folks love animals — and will treat my fur babies with true love and care. You can see it in their eyes when they greet you… and the dogs always have a blast here. Very friendly, super accommodating, and full of love for you and your pet. I can’t imagine boarding my dogs anywhere else…

Had my 5 month old Australian Labradoodle stay here while I took a quick trip to Barcelona.
Based on the reviews here on Unilocal,I knew what I was getting myself and my dog into. However, after my own personal experience I have to say this place is alright with me! I’d definitely recommend it to a friend w/​a pet.
My dog seemed to have really enjoyed himself and the company of other dogs as well. I felt comfortable and confident with the staff, admired how they interacted with the dogs and I truly enjoyed how they sent me photos of my dog while I was away and even featured him on their Instagram account. Additionally, I thought it was really cool how there were other Labradoodles there as well.
Only reason why I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the pricing. This place is expensive! Yes, you get what you pay for, and nothing is more important than having a trustworthy place to leave your dog… But, who doesn’t love a discount of some sort? I would love to see D Pet Hotel play with their pricing models a bit more. A Unilocal discount perhaps?
Nonetheless, we’ll definitely be back.

They took great care of our dog, Callie. The grooming was wonderful. Callie is a lab but the grooming helped keep the shedding down. Every time I call they are very friendly and helpful. There’s usually parking on Highland otherwise you can park near the air pumps at the neighboring gas station

What can I say? This place is amazing! The staff was very friendly and excited to meet and greet my dog and I. They gave him a temperament test to see if he got along with other dogs in the facility. While my dog was playing with the other dogs I was given a tour of the facility and was explained all the amenities they offered! I was so pleased with how well up kept this place was, I decided to come back another day to give boarding a try for a weekend. I was so nervous to leave my baby over for a few days away from me, but was assured he was in good hands! They emailed me updates and pictures of him playing with the other dogs! Upon arriving to pick him up, they had given him a bath and he smelled so fresh and clean! Boy was he happy! He didn’t want to leave! I will definitely be back and I highly recommend them! Thanks guys for taking such good care of my baby! See you soon!

Our two Yorkies just got home from a mini-​vacation in one of D Pet Hotel’s spacious doggy suites while their neurotic parents (which the caring staff was totally understanding of, given the fact that this was their first overnight away from home) could have a quick getaway to Las Vegas. The facilities are spotless and the staff is super attentive and caring. The peace of mind knowing our babies were in good hands was worth every penny, and we will definitely be return customers.

We love the D Pet Hotel.
This was our second time there. When visiting the area from San Francisco we love to take in an amusement park, and this has been a great place to drop off our little Emma without feeling guilty. First time we dropped her off for a play, bath and stay in with her own suite. They send us a picture that she was all settled in and ready for sleep. This time we dropped her off for a play and she needed a groom because her groomer was on holiday. Feeling a bit reluctant to try a new groomer, we gave in and very pleased with the result. I left my dog here for 7 days. He is shy and a bit anxious and had never been boarded before. They took such great care of him that he didn’t seem to want to come home! When I picked him up he was happy and sleepy and nice and clean. He had even made a few friends.
I used to manage a dog daycare so I know the drill for the most part. D Pet Hotel is particularly clean and well run. Top notch. Andrea was particularly helpful and my dog really bonded with her (even after she clipped his nails!) I highly recommend them and will be taking my dog here again.

I have boarded my dog here off and on over the years, the longest time being approximately 10 days and never had a problem. I recently inherited my mother’s dog and had to board them both while traveling abroad for about 5 weeks. My dog is a long-​haired Maltese who requires brushing every evening when playing with other dogs. The establishment knew this, the requirement is in my dog’s file. I was assured he was being brushed. Well imagine my horror when I had my groomer pick him up after 3 weeks for grooming. My dog was so terribly matted that the groomer wasn’t sure he could save my dog’s beautiful coat without cutting it all off. (The Maltese breed takes years to grow the hair to near floor length, mine is 6 years old.) the groomer was able to save the hair length but the coat is half as thick. The groomer noticed my dog also had an eye infection. I informed D Pet Hotel of all of this, insisting the have my dog’s eye checked. My dog was taken to my vet and given a 7-​day eye drop treatment. I was furious, that when I suggested my groomer taking both dogs for the remainder of their stay, and after the grooming, that the manager decided she’d groom him herself and that the night person in charge would also do the same, so he was brushed twice daily. Although I was given a discount which I’d insisted on, I’ve decided my relationship with D Pet Hotel is over. Oh my mother’s dog was fine, she has a ‘puppy cut’ so no maintenance problems. I paid approximately $ 3,500 for the stay and my ‘show’ ready dog is now half what he used to be. I don’t believe his harness was ever removed until AFTER his grooming. I’m terribly disappointed. I gave two stars only because my mother’s dog was fine. Moral: If you have a dog who needs special care, D Pet Hotel Hollywood is NOT the place.

[TLDR; When I picked my dog up, he was nervous, skinny, starving, and greasy. And had an unrequested haircut. Never going back.]
I’ve never reviewed anything before, but I just picked my terrier up from this place and I’m horrified. He’s skinnier than when I dropped him off and he seems just exhausted. He’s usually a bit of a slow eater, often grazing throughout the morning, but I put food out when we got home and he scarfed it down like he hadn’t eaten in days. He kept licking the empty bowl, which is also incredibly out of character, so I made him another bowl a little bit later and he scarfed that one down too. I really don’t think they fed him at all. Or maybe (like others suggest), he was kept in a crate with other dogs who ate his food before he did. He’s also acting really shy, like he’s scared of something, and growling at sounds a lot more.
After the scarfing, I called to ask about his eating habits and told them he’d seemed starving when we got home, and they said he ate everything, but was picky this morning, so that was probably why he was hungry. But, at home, he’s picky all the time and even when he ignores his food til late in the day, I’ve never seen him eat like that.
I wasn’t shocked that he was dirty, because they warned me that he might be, but I’m concerned about how gunky his eyes are (we’ll go to the vet if it doesn’t clear up quickly). Also, he has little scratches ALL OVER, which is not okay at all. I’m assuming that’s from the over-​crowded, unsupervised «play time.»
This review went way longer than I intended, but I just can’t believe there are people who are happy with this establishment. Never going back. Wish someone would sue them.

Very upset and disappointed. Just picked up my dog from a grooming and he is missing a patch of hair and the skin is spotted with blood — it’s on the middle of his back in a very obvious place and no one even mentioned it. Very careless and looks painful. Poor guy :(Booo to this place.

I take my dog here about once or twice a week for doggie day care. It is a nice treat for him while my husband and I are at work.
All the staff are super friendly, everyone knows my dogs name and he gets super excited every time we walk in. It is the only place I’ve taken him where he doesn’t cry when I drop him off!
He always comes back exhausted and sleeps for the rest of the night!

My dog loves going to daycare at D Pet Hotel.
The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The play areas for the dogs are a really good size especially if you have a big pup that likes to run a lot like mine.
Overall, I wouldn’t take my dog anywhere else, give it a try, you won’t be disappointed and neither will your dog!

i REALLY wanted to love this place. It’s close by my home and looks great. However, I didn’t have a great experience. Let me elaborate:
Staff was super nice. Loved that. Friendly and seemed to care. However, I told them that my dog was terminal and needed several things… lots of water close by — in the room overnight especially, and had critical medicine to be taken daily…
I chose one of the suites because I am a total sucker when it comes to making my dig happy. I still don’t know if she actually slept in the suite or if that is just a sales ploy where they then stick all the dogs in crates in back or something. Since there aren’t any cameras (I hate that there aren’t cameras) I will never know. I did think it’d be a nice experiment to put a hidden camera on her and take her back just to see what the real deal is…
When I went to pick her up after her overnight she was TRAUMATIZED and clearly hadn’t had her medicine. Furthermore, the one thing I stressed the most (her needing lots of water since she has severe kidney disease) was clearly not done. She came home and drank TWO BOWLS of water immediately. Usually a full bowl will take her two days or more to drink. However, she gulped them down in one sitting. I was shocked.
I’ll never take her back. I can’t say for sure what they did or didn’t do but I know my dog was worse for wear and the fact that there is no camera means I’ll never know. I feel like if I am spending human hotel prices for the dog suites then I should be able to watch what transpires in those rooms.
