David is amazing. We came to him for my engagement ring at the recommendation of a friend. We met with some other jewelers, but David was so educational about the whole diamond buying process and was honest about the pros and cons for different diamonds and metals. I absolutely love my engagement ring, so when it was time to get our wedding bands we came back. I had seen a picture on Pinterest of two bands, one a wide band with marquees that sat flush against the engagement ring. Turns out, its not an easy thing to achieve. David worked with us to design the band and he said it took him several attempts to get the ring right. It is absolutely gorgeous and exactly what I wanted. David was also very fair about the price.

My fiancé was referred to David by a friend of ours. My fiancé had an idea of the kind of ring I liked, especially since I don’t generally wear jewelry. Per my fiancé, he made 2 visits prior to officially purchasing the engagement ring. David educated my fiancé on the cut of a ring and gave him options, etc. In essence, after our proposal, the ring was more than what I expected. We loved David’s expertise so much that we came back for the wedding bands. David took really good care of us and there were definitely no pressure to buy. When I shared with him what I liked, he gave me his recommendations which have further increased my knowledge on rings. He is a great man and we were very fortunate to be referred to him. David is all about quality and we are forever customers.

When you get stellar service and a product beyond measure, you want to tell everyone! We have been going to David for over 6 years. He has ALWAYS been kind, fair and a pleasure to work with. If you need anything from a birthday present or Valentine’s Day gift to an engagement ring or anniversary gift, David is the man to see. I had a GREAT experience working with David K. I first contacted him at a coworker’s recommendation after she had him fabricate custom wedding bands to lay flush against her non-​flat engagement ring. She was very happy with the service she received and I was looking for someone to do the same thing for my engagement ring so I gave David a call. I live in San Diego and had already tried working with a jeweler here but for some reason they fell off the grid during the design process.
Since I live in San Diego David had me send him photos of my engagement ring so that he could prepare a wax die for our first consultation. He completely understood that I did not feel comfortable leaving my ring and was 100% upfront in letting me know that this was fine but would only lead to a band that matched 75−85%. If I wanted over 95% accuracy I would have to leave my ring which I just wasn’t willing to. David was also very upfront about the price which was VERY reasonable compared to the many other places (both large retail stores and smaller businesses like David K) that I had received quotes from.
There was a bit of a delay in getting my ring finished around cold and flu season because David got sick. He was very apologetic and even went as far as to open up during non business hours to accommodate my fiancé and I since we were coming all the way from San Diego.
When I picked up my ring it was beautiful! My fiancé and I were very pleased with the finished product. David even restored my engagement ring to like new (I’ve been engaged for 3.5 years so it’s been through a lot… don’t judge lol) by re-​dipping the white gold and replacing a couple of missing stones in my delicate setting.
All in all a GREAT experience. I would highly recommend David and would most certainly do business with him again!

First time when we met David he educated us all about diamond. What makes diamond perfect and what we should look out for. The first impression that he made on us definitely wanted us to come back and move forward with him. His showroom doesn’t really have a lot of options to explore but don’t be fooled by that! If you know what you want and bring the idea to him he can definitely prove that he can make it happen! You just really gotta explain your vision and click with him in your creative level! In this case we did. He was able to translate our vision into this amazing piece of jewelry!
First of all we gave our specification of our diamond and budget. He went out and found the right diamond from other dealers. Pretty impressive. Impressive by all mean price and the quality of the rock he was able to find!!!
I really think that now we can say «Yes we have our go to jeweler».

David was extremely polite and helpful when I brought him an inexpensive ring I needed fixed. He gave me a couple options for fixing it in different price ranges, which I really appreciated, and worked around my schedule for me to pick it up. I can’t say enough about his attitude toward customer service. And he did beautiful work!

David is an incredible jeweler! This review is a bit overdue as my wife Tuyet and I got married a month ago, while David crafted my wife’s engagement ring well before our wedding and perfectly on time.

David just completed our 2 wedding bands and a redesign/​set of my engagement ring. His displays are awesome, and I couldn’t feel better about David being our jeweler!
We’ve met with him three times now after being referred by a happy bride and groom. And I can see why they love him. We love our rings so much — we feel they really reflect our taste and personality. David hand made my band set with diamonds in a unique high-​craft style called French micro pave. It is so delicate and finely done that I almost lost it when I saw it for the first time. I couldn’t have imagined it any more perfect or perfect for me! My Groom’s ring also had to be made and its so manly and yet refined, I just can’t get over how great it looks and how well it reflects his personality! He was wearing it all weekend and we’re not married yet.
The first jeweler my fiancé went to was, like most of them, just a salesman, not a designer, and when he heard Fiancé was getting married, basically the first thing he said was, «Can I talk you out of it?» Fiancé left shortly after that. The jewelers we saw after our first visit with David for comparison were also just sales people, needing to ask the boss this and that, with a lot of generic choices. Even the man who sold Fiancé my original ring was a bit abrasive toward me later and sized my ring wrong.
How different is David? We were finalizing our designs and he told my fiancé, «You are really like a superhero. I really believe that. When we men decide to propose, men are like superheroes for making that big decision!» I can see what he means and Fiancé liked hearing it too! David’s selection is nice and elegant, just like him. And the service is personal and kind of fun — which is great because there are plenty of nerves when shopping for jewelry.
Value for money — David is very fair –we truly got a good deal. I would trust him with anything. He bends over backwards to be of service and informative, he’s friendly, available and his space is really clean, bright and welcoming. When I wanted coffee, he even offered to make some! He also made sure we watched him re-​set my diamond and it was fascinating — we enjoyed watching him in the zone!
If you’re in the market for jewelry at just about any price point, this truly is your lucky day.

Let me start by critiquing myself. I am an adamant researcher and look for great quality and service when making purchases. That being said, I was referred to David as someone whom would meet my standards with no problems. I met with David approximately 6 months prior to purchasing her engagement ring. At that time I was only looking around to educate myself on the ins and outs of purchasing stones and boy was it an involved process. My first meeting with David, he was extremely patient, confident and passionate about 1) the process, 2) the stones and 3) my comfort level. David spoke to me about the cut, clarity, color, size, table, girdle and ratio of the stone. We spoke about the differences between EGL and GIA certifications. He NEVER tried to sell me not one single stone, instead he offer his opinion and gave me the time to make my own decisions.
Once I was finally ready to purchase, I had ideas for what the design of the ring should look like. I actually drew pictures from my head, I brought designs from other websites and I had a tear out from a magazine that she mentioned that she liked. I brought all of these in to David and we sat and discussed my fiancé’s personality and what I wanted the ring to say. From there I had a choice of picking from a few common designs in David’s display OR choose a few of David’s personal custom designs but I chose to design a ring that combined all of the designs that I brought in.
Then we looked a stones… My fiancée likes the round cut. I wanted the best stone within my spending range and Thankfully David doesn’t even recommend stones that are not reflective of his work or knowledge. He some how found a way to get me the brilliant stone that I wanted with going over my budget. (It probably helped that my education with David helped me to look for something realistic).
David’s passion for his craft is nothing compared to his ability to consult and educate me on the things I needed to know to get my wifey the best engagement that I could. He helped me to pour everything that I had into this ring; and he did this with such class and grace. I demand excellence in all that I do and David is one of very few people that takes it above and beyond. After getting the stone, it was time to make the ring.
David then took a look and gave me a date as to when he could finish custom designing my ring to all of my specifications. Make it a one-​of-​a-​kind!!! A million «THANK YOU’s to DAVID»… I have truly found someone that I can trust with blinking to purchase future jewelery. Can’t wait to work with David for the wedding bands…

I can not think of enough kind things to say about my experience at David K Jewelers. My engagement ring was technically my grandmother’s anniversary band. It’s a special sentimental piece and I wanted to find a wedding band which would compliment it.
The band consists of two rows of diamonds on top and tapers to have a thin band underneath. This means that a traditional band will not fit next to it’s irregular shape.
David K was very kind to us when I showed him the ring. He was happy to design a band for us. He has a stunning selection of bands to choose from in the store, I showed him a few of my favorites and we sat down and talked about the ring and a design concept. He took a few notes and sketched a design right there on the spot. I could tell that he enjoys his job and takes great pride in his work.
My fiancé and I said we would go to lunch and think about it. We didn’t even get out of the building before deciding on David K. We had gone to two other places that morning. None of which were bad, they were all good, but it’s different when you speak to a designer vs a sales person.
I handed over my grandmother’s ring to David so he could take a mold of the ring. 10 days later we picked up the wedding band. It was even more beautiful than I hoped for. David was very pleased that we love the ring. The new band fits the ring perfectly. It is a perfect enhancement and makes for a beautiful wedding set.

First off, I can’t thank David enough for his help with picking out the perfect diamond! In addition, his craftsmanship is impeccable and my Fiancée was absolutely elated at how beautiful the ring turned out. To anyone searching for the perfect diamond, ring, or any jewelry piece for that matter, THIS IS THE PLACE! My fiancé and I were so impressed with David K’s service and work of art so I’m including both of our reviews for him. I just got engaged this past weekend and I absolutely LOVE my custom-​designed engagement ring that my fiancé proposed with, never seen anything like it. My fiancé and I spent about good three months searching the Internet and Downtown LA jewelry district for the perfect engagement ring. Every store we went, we were quickly turned off by their sales pressure and typical cookie cutter ring selections. I love my fiancé dearly and I didn’t want her to wear the typical engagement ring that everyone else already had. We had a lot of questions but none of the sales persons were patient enough to explain or educate us. Worst part is that we just couldn’t find the design we were looking for. Then we ran into David K. Jeweler in downtown LA. David was both professional and had wealth of knowledge to explain every question we tossed at him. We explained exactly what we were looking for in our engagement ring and David was the only jeweler in town who was capable of custom designing our ring.
