Denim Revival

Denim Revival is the ONLY place to go for Amazing Repairs. I have had 3 pairs of jeans repaired there (so far) and they are the best! Though they may be pricey… You get what you pay for!

I have an old pair of much-​loved CK jeans, but they sometimes felt a bit frumpy. I found Denim Revival on Unilocal and took the jeans to them during a recent trip to LA. I wasn’t even sure how I wanted the jeans altered — but the owner (?) seemed to know right away what needed to be done. I had them sent back to me, and expected it to take 10 days plus shipping time — so was really pleased when they arrived in my mailbox exactly one week later, and the fit is perfect! I could not possibly be happier, and can’t wait for my next LA trip, so I can take another pair to Denim Revival. Thank you!

Denim Revival is wonderful. Anna, is very kind, and a master at her work. And, she’s accommodating to her customers. They stand behind their work and are welcoming. Great place.

My favorite thing about this place is the massive candy jar. If you’re lucky enough to go on a day that it’s recently been refilled, you’ll find some good stuff in there.
This is a totally solid spot to get your jeans repaired. I had a hole in an awkward place in one of my fav pairs of jeans, and they did a really nice, seamless job of patching it and reinforcing the whole area. But it’s not cheap. That single patch cost me $ 50. Still, though, glad to have my jeans back in the rotation.

I love Denim Revival. If you ever have any kind of alteration or repair need on your favorite pair of jeans, this is the spot. Those jeans that you thought were ready for burial (due to a huge rip, hole, blowout, wear and tear)? They actually have a second life. Invisible repairs are awesome. And your trusty jeans live on.
I’m not sure if there’s anything that Anna can’t do, but if there is, I haven’t yet discovered it. It’s always a quality job.
I’m bummed about some nice jeans I’ve thrown out in the past before I discovered Denim Revival.
Very few parking stalls in the back, but it’s free, and it’ll be a quick in and out.

Awesome job making my jeans skinnier all around and adjusting the length. Its not cheap but your jeans will be amazing. Plus it only took 5 days for 2 pairs of jeans. This other place I asked said it would take 2 months !!! haha

Did a great job altering the waist on my nudie jeans. Besides the little hole they left that’s not that noticeable (I have a slight case of OCD lol), they did great. Definitely would recommend to anybody

In the last year I’ve visited New York, Boston, Providence, London and Cardiff.
It’s been a whirlwind!
I wasn’t entirely surprised when I developed… a problem.
It was my crotch.
Walking the streets of LA was too much for my four-​year-​old Rick Owens jeans. The crotch gave out in the dairy aisle of Whole Foods. (Thank goodness for tote bags!)
I wasn’t going to trust my favorite pair of jeans to just anybody. My pair had a unique finish and a lot of history. I needed an expert who had a clear understanding on how to repair jeans with both the designer’s original intent for the jeans, and the how the owner wears them in mind.
Denim Revival did a great job on both counts. It’s Summer, so the turn-​around time was a little over a week. (I need a vacation too!) It’s a good time to drop off those heavier Fall and Winter jeans to prep for more travel!
I can walk the dairy aisle again with my head held high, and my jeans held fast.
In the front of the shop, they sold all sorts of vintage Levis jeans, jackets and tees. It
felt like an outfitter in Montana… but in LA. Still, I was strong. I only have eyes for Rick Owens!

Denim Revival is the place to go when the details aren’t quite right. They know what you want, and how to get there at a reasonable price.
Cases in point:
A pair of super light grey jeans I’d bought in Paris. The material was perfect, the color incredible, but the fit was a little off in the lower leg. I brought them in, and Paige took a look and carefully marked them up so that they would taper a little. They were done three days later perfect.
A Levis LVC denim jacket. $ 150 to purchase, and I realized that the collar was too butterfly to be cool and that the sleeves were kind of baggy. After 10 days at DR, it is PERFECT.
So if you find yourself not wearing the clothes you once loved, don’t fret or throw them away — bring them in to Denim Revival, and bring them back to life.

You MUST get your jeans repaired here. Anna is very kind and sweet and totally saved my weekend by fixing two of my jeans in 2 days and the prices are the lowest in the city. Her work is fantastic. And you can’t even see the patch work! Love it.

My favorite pair of $ 200 jeans split on the seat, so I brought them here to be fixed. The chick who I assume is the owner/​manager helped me, and I use that term very loosely. She could not have been less friendly. I showed her the rip and she said they could repair it for $ 25. As the whole seat area was very thin, I asked her if she thought they would just split again in another place. She looked at me like, «duh» and scoffed, «Yes.» She then told me that for an additional $ 15, they could reinforce the entire seat. I didn’t love investing $ 40 in the jeans, but because they were less than 6 months old and I loved how comfy and cute they were, I said ok. Incidentally, they make you pay before they do the work. But okay, whatevs.
They called me about a week or so later to tell me they were done and I went to pick them up. The chick with the attitude was there. I gave her my name and she wordlessly got the jeans, handed them to me and then walked away– our transaction was DONE as far as she was concerned. She didn’t bother to show me what had been done or explain where the reinforcement was, nor did she even care to see if I was pleased with the repair job. So I stood there and inspected the work my own damn self and I have to say, the repair job was pretty darn good. You’d have had to look really close to be able to tell they were ever torn. And the reinforcement was on the inside and wasn’t visible from the outside at all. So despite the terrible customer service, I was happy enough.
That is, until I wore the jeans. With that heavy reinforcement, it literally felt like I was walking around with a huge dump in my pants. Not comfortable in the least. But they still looked cute at least even if they weren’t really comfortable anymore. A few wearings later and I’m crouched down in Target pulling something off a shelf and I hear this weird hissing sound. I look down and I see a huge hole tearing in my knee. Great. But now I’m in it for the $ 40 dollars and I figure I’ll still try to get some wear out of them, huge gaping hole in knee or not. Maybe people will think I meant to have them ripped like that.
A few wearings later and I take the jeans off and I happen to hold the seat up to the light– and that’s when I see it. A hole forming right next to the pocket. Clearly the weight of the reinforcement they put in the seat was so heavy that it made the material pull away from the pocket and caused another tear. No way am I sinking any more cash into these jeans, so they are toast. The $ 40 I spent maybe bought me 5 – 6 more wearings, which is not what I was promised by the chick at Denim Revival. Despite the fact that they did a nice repair job, given that they ripped again immediately after, I cannot recommend their work. Also, I bet there are a lot of other places you could go get jeans repaired where you would get way better service. Or service, period. HUGE let-​down.

The Invisible Weave resurrects jeans. Their pricing is worth every dollar.

#1 place in L.A. to have jeans altered. I regularly drive all the way there from Santa Monica through awful traffic because it’s well worth it. Highly recommend.

Until we had a difficult situation… We had a pair of jeans that the owner insisted she didn’t alter around the waist, but only cleaned up the waist… very odd to have that happen when it fit totally differently before she cleaned it when compared to after cleaned. Honestly, with all the repeated visits we made it would have made sense for them to just say they would fix it and not bother repeatedly pointing out that it wasn’t their issue. Why on earth would a customer lie that loved coming here?
I guess they don’t care about all the past times we have came and thrown down $$ to alter stuff.

I took my 1947 501’s to get them a bit tapered and hemmed.
I was told it would cost $ 68 and take 10 days. They kindly called to inform me when the jeans were ready to be picked up. When I looked closely afterwards, I noticed the chain stitching was done with a different color than the original, the selvedge on one leg was sewn crooked, and new stitching on the inseam was very noticeable. I took it back promptly, and Ana assured me she would take care of it personally.
When I picked it back up, the jeans looked like it was just freshly manufactured from Levi’s. It looks as though Ana went ahead and re-​did the entire inseam (no more noticeably different stitching), and it looks perfect. The chain stitching is very nice and sturdy (much better than the first time I picked up).
It is quite evident that my jeans were worked on by two different individuals, with the final product being done by Ana. She is a super sweet lady with a very laid back, calm aura. I’m glad Unilocal led me to her.
I am very happy, and highly recommend Ana to anyone who really loves their denim.

My favorite brand of jeans is 7 for All Mankind but I face quite a dilemma:
I have stubby legs where regular-​length men’s jeans are too long off the rack even with the shortest inseam available. And I’m definitely too fat for boys’ jeans.
7 for All Except Ray is more like it.
So I learn about Denim Revival back in 2008 with the first pair of 7’s I ever bought.
Awesome Annie asked me if I’d like to keep the original hem of my jeans. Of course, this was before I realize that jeans can be altered while retaining the factory hem, so I thought that was an odd question. «Yes», I said, thinking I would give those supposedly $ 200 detached hems to my cat as a chew toy. Man, was I naïve back then.
Fast forward to 2014. All 13+ pairs of 7’s I’ve bought since then have been expertly altered by Annie. I’ve never had to wait more than 2 – 3 days for a call saying the jeans are ready. And I usually get that call just on the very day I’m drunk… well, more than usual for a typical day.
Friendly service, quality work, and fast turnaround.
We all have that one person who is the only one we trust to work on our cars, hair, mechanical bulls, etc. Denim Revival is my only go-​to for alterations. I trust no one else.

Turn around time is usually 1 – 2 weeks.

I absolutely hate shopping for jeans, but it’s a vicious cycle. I’ll find one pair, fall in love, wear to death for 4 – 6 months, and then the crotch wears out. Suddenly I’m back in my own personal hell, shopping for jeans.
But then I found my perfect pair. Level 99s, skinny straight, half-​off on sale at Anthropologie. It was a match made in heaven and I had never been happier putting on my pants. But alas, it went the way all my jeans do, and I had a hole-​y crotch before I knew it. I wasn’t ready to let these guys go, though. The wash was too perfect, the fit was too flattering, and the price for a new pair was out of my league. That’s when I went to Denim Revival.
I took two pairs, my favorites and a Banana Republic number that I had murdered long ago but still fit well. These are not fancy jeans, but no judgement was passed when I handed them over. It cost about $ 55 to get both of them fixed — a little more than I had anticipated, but still half the price of a new pair of Level 99s. It took about 10 days to fix, but they look flawless! With your eyes, you can’t even tell there’s been work done, but the crotch has been reinforced and the material is noticeably more durable to the touch.
Never again am I going to let a little wear and tear force me to part with my favorite jeans. Thank you, Denim Revival!
