Total major disappointment this time! I purchased a carton of the expensive cigarettes to discover much later overseas that they are awful(must be very stale)! They were impossible to use and upon my return I emailed to DFS my complaint twice(within 2 weeks), but never got an answer. They don’t care what reputation they reflect! I lost a lot of money and they didn’t even apologize. I travel often overseas and have to tell: those stores are not worthy, waste of money. Prices are way cheaper in US or at least the same(except cigarettes because they are extremely overtaxed). Also, the selection is so poor!!! Shame on DFSs!

I have a serious problem. I simply cannot function without putting lotion on my hands after I wash them. That is the one high maintenance thing I would admit to. I have to have lotion on my freshly washed hands. And yet, one of two times, when I travel, my lotion always ends up in my checked in luggage and not in my purse. It drives me crazy(probably even more so than delayed flights. Seriously, I have a problem.) Today, as expected, I have no lotion in my purse. So I scout the nearest facilities that have lotion. The convenience store sells hand lotion for $ 5 plus tax. Too expensive but I would have bitten had I not seen DFS. The store is small but clean and orderly. They have a limited array of beauty products but the products they do have would be suitable hello presents. The prices are competitive and their inventory is not exactly to be looked down upon. The best part? They had hand cream testers! This girl left happy!

Ladies were too busy helping each others make up not costumers. One guy who was at register working really hard. Give 2 stars since I got what I wanted.

The Mexican/Middle Eastern looking lady wearing a ton of makeup at the M.A.C. section was super bitchy and rude when I was trying to find out information about the different options of cosmetics. Should be fired!!!

Place was somewhat decent but I was only allowed to buy perfumes since I was only flying to Hawaii and not some third world county, Asia or Europe… wtf… the only think I wanted was the Christian Dior slightly pink lip balm that makes your lip pucker up with some heat(probably form some stupid cheap pepper like the jalapeño) but a pack of three was easily over $ 75… WTF! This place was packed with stoked Azians… mostly Chinese and Korean… nothing wrong with that… I’m very into their food!

quick tip: find a helpful lady and stick with her. my parents are always flying out for little mini vacations so I’m often found perusing the aisles of duty free. I found a pair of sunglasses that I liked and figured I’d get them. The Japanese sales lady just kinda threw my shit together and told me that they don’t stock anything and everything is out. Great so 84765458 people have already handled my $ 300 sunglasses. the perfume ladies on the other side of the store were much nicer and more helpful. my parents had concerns about the fluids and transferring through Japan but they were reassured everything would be ok. The ladies even knew the traveling procedures Japan would need. 1 additional star for redeeming service.

Quick Tip: If you flying out of LAX and need to buy perfume, make-up, designer wallets, etc. this place is the place to be! Buy all the stuff you love, but TAXFREE baby! Of course, you need to show them your boarding pass, but if you’re flying out of LAX might as well save some $$$ and save 9.75% sales tax.

I don’t know if this is even the same DFS I was in for about an hour(i had some time to kill), looking at makeup, slathering on lotions(refer to 2 posts before), and playing with their perfumes. Ok when there is some shiseido face lotion that is going for 200 bucks for like 1.5 ounces, you’re going to bet I’m going to put some on my face. and 0.5 ounce eye cream for $ 150 something? it’s going on my eyes. the ladies kept asking if i needed help. i kept thinking, yes i’m locoooooo. For the record, I didn’t buy anything. But I must have like $ 50 worth of stuff on my face. PAHAHHA i win.
