I ordered the 2 carne asada tacos and before I finished the last one, I placed an order for another one. The meat is tender and so juicy. I’m glad I was able to try this taco truck out before my trip ended.

Best taco truck ever! It’s in my neighborhood so I’m always there I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl. The burritos are to die for.

I’ve been coming to this taco truck for about 20 years. No joke. Tacos al pastor or tacos de asada are pretty good. Add lime and salsa. It never lets you down and always a good late night snack.

Tacos de al pastor are good. I had a Carne Asada taco which wasn’t too good. The quesadillas are bomb. The tortas Cubans are pretty good. All in all a good place.

Gave this place a try based on Unilocal & it met my expectations. The asada tacos are amazing with the green salsa! Very flavorful & I highly recommend it, very authentic and fast. Happy customer & tummy :)

This place used to be the best taco truck in town. I know people who drove 30 min just to get el matador. Their food used to be the best in quality, taste and price. But recently, I don’t know what happened. I don’t know if it’s the hot sauce or the meat but something has changed. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it. Go back to your old ways el matador, we miss you!

This place is truly what tacos should taste like. Its hard to come across some really really good tacos with spice. my mouth waters as I’m writing this lol I’ve been coming here since high school and I will never stop comin back! I usually get 6 tacos carne asada, Make sure you get the red sauce whether its on or on the side. And Don’t forget your grilled onions on the side there free You won’t regret it!

I’ve been on a mission to visit every taco truck in la. Tonight I ventured to El Matador. I’ve driven by this truck a bunch of times. Heard good things. I tried a large portion of their menu. The asada burrito wasn’t too bad. The tortilla fell apart a little. Also got a chicken quesadilla. Pretty descent too. The highlights were the tacos. The carnitas were good. The pastor was excellent. Also really enjoyed the salsa roja. Only real gripe I had was that parking was very limited. Overall El Matador was good. Not the best I’ve had in la, but certainly they do a good job. I’d recommend it

I love this place with all my heart, really the tacos have consistently been good for all the years that I’ve been going to it, I’ve been fed these tacos since I was in the womb so granted i may be bias, but never the less if you are in LA they are definitely worth a taste. Tacos are like $ 1.30.

What the hell happened to this place? I’ve been going here at least once a week for the past two years, but clearly things have changed: 1) The cashier is not the same person. 2) Their hot sauce is off. It used to taste like King Taco’s hot sauce, but now it tastes smokey/peppery aka not good. 3) Burritos used to cost $ 4, now they cost $ 6.25 4) My friend bought 2 burritos for $ 2.75. How is that mathematically even possible? 5) The last three times I went to this«El Matador» truck(never going back btw), they always screwed up my order. Example) I ordered a vegetarian burrito and got a carne asada burrito instead. How do you even screw that up? I think I’m officially done with this truck. I miss the old truck. The old cashier who never got my order wrong. The old hot sauce.

Heard great things about this place and gave it a try. Had a pastor taco which was lacking on meat and flavor. Chicken taco was dry as the chicken was far over-stewed Based on these two decided not to move forward with anything else. Average taco truck(still not bad at all)

I have an affinity for Mexican food trucks, but sadly I can’t recommend El Matador as there are many better options around LA. The lone positive thing I can say is that their al pastor was pretty good. Juicy and flavorful. I’m not positive but I don’t think it’s the type that slowly cooks on a spit with the fresh pineapple. It definitely tasted more moist than flame grilled, but it’s hard to tell as they operate out of an older food truck with small windows and no flashy neon lights. Their menu is very limited, serving only the basics: tacos, burritos, quesadillas and tortas. No freshly fried empanadas, gorditas, flautas or any of that fancy stuff. No nachos or fries. Tortillas are store bought, nothing special. They lack a salsa bar. They also don’t have sour cream and guacamole. Or at least I wasn’t given any with my quesadilla. The asada was super dry and flavorless. Stick with the al pastor. Cash only. Better food trucks options around Ktown include El Tauro on Wilshire/Vermont and El Flamin’ Taco on 5th/Vermont.

It was great customer service. Me and my friends all ordered tacos and the service was fast and nice. They were very patient with us and willing to have conversations. Overall great experience. Fast food service. Parking was a little tight and reasonably priced. When I’m back in Hollywood I will def be there to get more!!!

I’ve had other Mexican Taco trucks in LA that were godly so I’m a little biased when feasting on my tacos. El Matador provides authentic small soft tacos filled with the traditional mexican meats such as carne asada, cabeza, lengua, al pastor, etc. They also offer burritoes and tortas. There’s something about the meat that prevents me from giving it a higher rating. The carne asada meat were slightly overdone so it was a little too tough and dry. It didn’t have enough of that carne asada taste for me to consider it true carne asada. The cabeza lacked enough spices and taste. The lengua did have the consistency I was looking for. Overall, a cheap place to buy tacos. Park on the street and walk a little.

I love late night taco runs. This taco truck is parked at the parking lot of a car shop, corner of Western and Lexington. A regular roach coach, nothing glitzy about it. My El Matador meal: I ordered the Carne Asada Taco and the Cabeza Taco(I felt adventurous). Verdict: First lets talk about the grilled pearl onion as part of the plate garnish. Simply brilliant. The Carne Asada was awesome, flavorful. The red sauce, yummy and spicy. The Cabeza — I wish I could give this meat high marks, but it was simply too fatty for my taste. My stomach could not and would not handle that much fattiness. I did try my friend’s carne asada burrito and really wished that I ordered that as well. His burrito wasn’t too big and the rice and beans were something else. Unfortunately, there weren’t any salsa bar. But overall I will definitely come back for the tacos and next time a burrito. And oh yes, a bigger appetite.

Hello! Hubby and I were tourist from Hawaii trying to get to our hotel in the Studio City area. I was super starving so we got off the freeway to find food. Ok, so I was pretty wasted and I demanded my husband to drive and let fate find us a place to eat. Low and behold we found this food truck in a tiny parking lot. Serendipity at its finest! This place was great! Got a bunch of tacos for $ 1.25 a piece and a quesadilla. The tacos were perfect. We got the carne asada, al pastor, and pollo. I loooved them! with some beets and lime. Winner! The quesadilla was ok but my meat-lovin’ hubby liked it a lot. Its very heavy and cheesy so if you are into that order this! Most affordable meal I had on my vacation!
