I had the burrito mojado with carne asada and it was absolutely delicious! This is a sit down restaurant that also has a bar inside that people were hanging out at. Very clean, nice ambience, friendly wait staff, and yugggggge portions. I wish I had taken a picture for you all to see but trust me, u will want to be rolled out of here in a wheelbarrow! I especially liked the terrific flavors presented in the dish, the carne asada was nicely seasoned, salsa tasty/spicy, and some sort of cheese sauce inside of the burrito that was yummy. One of the aspects I especially appreciated about this place is the family and old world ambience that reminds me of simpler times where one wasn’t addicted to stress and wifi. It’s very peaceful and comfortable inside. I would def come here for a date or casual dining again.

Small and busy on Sunday morning, service for take out was ok. Not friendly. Food was good. Be ready to pay cash only. They don’t take cards but they do offer an ATM machine. Seating was uncomfortable.

I just had my breakfast pupusas and I gotta say they were pretty good. Not the best I’ve ever ever had, but it was good and definitely not terrible like some of the reviews. My server was courteous and very nice, the bar tenders were cheerful and a festive bunch, I enjoyed their company. The curtido was delicious and we’ll prepared. The salsa had a nice kick to it That it had we wondering where the spice came from until I tasted it by itself, well done and just the right amount of heat. I would come back, absolutely. The chips are colorful and the salsa was chunky, not watered down like I read, you gotta check it out for yourself before you believe all the comments, maybe it was a bad day for them, either way I thought it was decent. I didn’t even notice the B which wouldn’t of scared me away anyways. Oh my God I just got my bill, $ 6.87 for two fat pupusas and my Jamaica water, this is too awesome! I got to get away from the heat into the AC cushion seats, watched a little fútbol, enjoyed the company of some liquor aficionados for a little less than seven bucks. I love LA and pupusas.

Horrible never again. Where to start all of our horchatas where rancid. The plate size was way bigger then the portions. Pupusas and tortillas werent even shaped right.(Presentation is key, along with taste) pupusas and tortillas were small i have never seen some like that and im 100% salvi so i love pupusas. I would never recomend this place. Place has ripped seats in the booths. Cheap but i rather pay a lil more so fresh food instead of spoiled. Also we had the papas con huevos. Has more onions then potatoes or egg. Horrible experience

Well where to start? The health department raided this restaurant a letter ‘B’ I took my mother to eat here and I regret it. I ordered a tamarindo drinks and it was chuko, the horchata was decent. My mother and I ordered pupusas not the bizznes las pupusas are made of Maza de mazeca and they are super small. Scale 1 – 10 on service I give it a 4. It was not busy and the waitress took for ever!!! They need to step it up.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years since I was a kid and the only thing that has really changed through the years is the name of the restaurant and the paint exterior. Other than that, the food has always been so damn excellent. My only griefs with this place is that they take forever cook everything sometimes and its a very small location. But man… try there carne asada… it will blow your mind. Ensaladas(the drink) are always good here too.

The absolute best pupusas in town!!! Mind you, this is coming from a Salvadorian! If you are not Salvadorian or any other country in Central America I recommend you don’t get pupusas with«LOROCO.» It’s a native plant to us and it requires many tries in order to acquire a good taste. Get any other pupusas with cheese on it and you should be fine! I’m sure you’ll love it! :)

We usually come here with my husband’s parents almost every Friday night so I guess you can say we are regulars there lol can’t complain about the service since they know us already, there has been a few times the server got our orders wrong but nothing too big to make a big deal about. I’m not Salvadorian but the pupusas are okay good(I’ve had better) but the micheladas are bomb!

Best pupusas and Salvadorean food in town, give yourself the chance to visit it, it is not the best in town but they have the best pupusas and shakes. Pay no attention to the bad reviews, though is based on personal experiences it does not reflect the entire reality, give yourself a chance!

Well I think the pajonal is good … The food is awesome, the girls are nice and sweet and they speak Salvadoran, real salvadorean, not some Mexican/salvi/American mix … Yes, you have to wait, but what do you expect? son pupusas !!! Siempre tardan !!! Unless they’re not fresh, then yes, you will have your pupusas right away… Always Good pupusas take time, I like the place, because the food is good, my wife like the place too. P. s I don’t drink and I’m happily married… so in my opinion the place is great and not because the booze or the girls …

I tried. I really did. My boyfriend and I live around the corner and wanted something else besides El Gran down the street. The food was good the first time but the service sucked. I thought it was just an off day. The second time we went, same thing except the service was worse. Now today, we tried just because it had been awhile and we thought since it was cinco de mayo, it would be lively even though we know its a salvi restaurant. This time around, it was by far the worst service I ever experienced in my life!!! I felt like they were very dismissive because we arent some bud light drinking paisas that stare at the waiteresses asses as much as the bottom of their glass(or can for that matter). The food was great the first time but it just went downhill. I dont even feel bad about eating a chip or two then leaving because THEYTOOKSODAMNLONGTOEVENGETOURDRINKORDER. Do yourself a favor, AVOIDATALLCOSTS. You’re better off buying food from El Gran. At least there, the ladies can entertain you with their dramatic facial expressions as they intently watch novelas.

Pretty good pupusas, but you have to wait for quite a while for your food, the salsa for the chips is watery, and the waitresses have a white shirt uniform that is not very classy.

My lady and I wanted some authentic salvadorian breakfast, we came here and man was I disappointed, I had a bad vibe, the waiters are all girls and all they do is chit chat and look at there damn phones, the food took too long, they forgot to bring me my pan con pollo and there was a piece of paper in my ladys eggs what kind of garbage is that??? Avoid this place I’ll never ever come back to this hole In the wall– and cash only! Keep up with the times!

4 stars? 5 stars? Are you kidding me? I feel so deceived! I must of came on a very off day or ya’ll must of come very hungry and anything would of taste good. I don’t think I can ever be that hungry. First of all this place is outdated and falling apart. The food was horrible the salsa that comes with chips was spoil it taste funny, smelled funny! I told the waitress and she just shrugged ohh. sorry ok and walked away! Really??? The food was bad! We order the botanas with shrimp, chicken, beef, and the cheese, the cheese was the only good thing on that plate. The chicken was really oily and tasteless. The meat and the shrimp smell funny. Food is supposed to smell good not funny! There are no shortcuts for cooking! This is more your typical Salvadorean drinking place where men come to drink, watch a game and listen to the jukebox while flirting with the pretty waitresses. I’m Salvadorean and a foodie. This is not a good tasting place, cheap maybe but I know so many other cheap eats that are good. I can honestly say that I’ll never come back to this place ever again.

Clean, quick, great El Salvadoran. Food… Glad we are here. Nothing bad. The food was so good my mother-in-law, straight from El Salvador took home food. Now that is praise!

Authentic. The horchata(muddy looking type), ensalada, pupusas, and enpanadas is all we had and they were great. Pupusas were authentically sized and filled correctly, no cracks nor extra greasy. Note: Unilocal!Look at storefront description available by your own available pictures. This is a Salvadoran establishment, not Mexican(very different)…

I love the authentic Salvadorian food here, it reminds me of my mother’s cooking, I usually prefer take out because the service can suck a little. The waitresses are often more interested in tending to the men who I assume tip them well. My favorite dishes are panes con pollo and carne guisada.

If you’ve never had a traditional Salvi breakfast, you ain’t livin’ yet. I am hoooooked. There is nothing better than waking up on a weekend with a gnawing stomach, a slightly hungover brain, and the growing anticipation that builds when you decide to come here. Get a couple of pupusas — my favorites are the squash and cheese/loroco ones. Order some casamiento, which is black beans, rice, and a touch of crema mixed together. By all means, have the fried plantains and farmer’s cheese. Scoop it all up with handmade Salvi tortillas. I hear the chicharron is killer, but that’s not an option for me. Get a bucket of beers to split with your guest. Be shocked when your bill for all of this comes to a little under $ 15. Now roll your ass home and take a nap, cipote! That’s what I call a beautiful Sunday morning.

Mira voz ! I’ve hit this spot up a few times and can’t believe I haven’t done a review on this place, or the fact that no reviews have been done for it . Well, my latest outing here was with Da Rick Zoo… . I told him about this spot where the food was decent, fast, and cheap. I also told him that the waitress here were very«nice» ! Well nice in the sense that, if I were to make a comparison, I would name it the Salvadoran Hooters ! ! Well, the ladies aren’t walking around in Orange Shorts w/skin color stockings(blech…who wears tan stockings?), but they normally wear black pants with white shirts that are maybe a size smaller than they née d to be, but who’s complaining ? Like I said their breakfast are decent and cheap, but so is Jack in the Box’s, but JiB doesn’t have cute lil’ waitresses ! Gracias ! Muy amable !
